Aspects of the relationship of the U.S. president with the American public
Gottwaldová, Petra ; Kotábová, Věra (advisor) ; Váňa, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis deals with the mutual relationship of the U.S. president with American public. Within this theme I investigate the ways in which the public expresses its opinion of the president, and which factors and issues influence presidential public ratings. Further, I analyze the relationship of the president with the public from the other side - it means communication strategies which the president employs in order to gain support of public opinion. An essential part of public relations is focusing public attention on a concrete issue of the president's agenda and subsequent framing of public debate about it. Through this process, the president can determine preferences which the public uses during their evaluation of the president's job. The media play an important role in forming public opinion, therefore my thesis deals with the president's approach to the media and with his communication with them as well. From the view of the Rottinghaus's theory of public opinion leadership, I analyze particular methods of presidential public relations and their potential influence on the growth of public support. The last point of my thesis is the role of the public support in the policy-making process, particularly in promoting presidential proposals in Congress, and also in a situation when the...

The thesis deals with the topic of Christian-Muslim dialogue in some European countries. The first part gives a theoretical understanding of Christian position towards other faiths and the dialogue with them. The author presents some theological questions and practical topics of Christian-Muslim dialogue, because they directly influence, if the Christian community (Church) starts the dialogue or not. This part also introduces to the immigration process of people from Muslim countries to Europe and presents the results of current sociological surveys, both in relation to their integration and creation of identities, and in relation to changes in Muslim religiosity within European space with the aim to show the variability and inner complexity of the Muslim presence in Europe. By giving an overview of the cooperation of Muslims with European and international institutions in the second part it proves, that the 2001 affairs completely changed their political will for the dialogue with Muslims. By an overview of the cooperation of Muslim groups with European ecumenical organisations and the Roman-Catholic Church it shows the general maturity of the dialogue, but also its limits set by structures and low measure of reflection at the grass-root level. The thesis outlines the current life situation of Muslims in...

Genetika zbarvení činčil
Poslušná, Michala
There are same principles for color coat genesis for all mammals, both on a molecular level and when the final phenotype is created. Even in the early embryonic stage the cells for pigment deposition are distributed to the periphery parts of the body, skin cells and hairfollicles. The most important substance for color coat genesis is melanin pigment, whose synthesis is affected by melanocortin and two basic pigments eumelanin a pheomelanin are made by enzymatic cycles. The final phenotype is influenced by 5 or 6 basic genes, their mutations and interaction between them. Model system for showing the creation of color coat is mice. Chinchilla's, whom the work is dedicated to, genes and alelles haven't been described in exact way yet, but it is supposed, that basic principles are the same as in mice and the knowledge of color coat genetics in rodents are based on this claim. Breeders use allele indication made by themselves and genotype is determined by the animal's phenotype. The phenotype of offspring is determined by genotype of both parents.

Unbeheld Body: Seeking for the Literary Form of the Queer Body in the Novels of Jeanette Winterson
Hlucháňová, Zuzana ; Kolářová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Sokolová, Věra (referee)
The thesis elaborates upon a question which literary techniques Jeanette Winterson applies in her novels The Passion and Written on the Body to portray queer body. The thesis conceptualizes queer body as crystallizing in discontinuous relationships between the categories of sex, gender identity and compulsory heterosexuality within Butlerian heterosexual matrix. The possibility of discontinuous relationships between them - gender disorder - is realised in the act of beholding queer body. Conceptualization of queer body embedded within the Butlerian heterosexual matrix has not been elaborated upon in the full scope of Jeanette Winterson's work. Literary criticism deals with the body in Written on the Body, not, however, in the context of Butlerian model of heterosexual matrix. Articulation of queer body is realized by deconstructive techniques of Jeanette Winterson's writing. These are comprised in the motifs of mirroring in The Passion and palimpsest in Written on the Body. Ontological anxiety in The Passion brings queer body. Magic realism in the novel gives queer body magical skills which make gender disorder possible. Queer body is abject in the novel. In Written on the Body genderless narrator describes queer body as his/her body. It is an adorable and morbid body. The queer body in this novel...

Primitivism in the Czech art. From the fifties of the 20th century
Straková, Adéla ; Klimešová, Marie (advisor) ; Winter, Tomáš (referee)
This work can not cover all forms of primitivism in the late 20th century, and precisely define the category, despite the fact that in some way, of course, trying to do so. It can only be seen as one way of looking. In the last century the concept of primitivism faced accusations of ethnocentric perspective and evaluation. But it turned out that ethnocentrism can not from a position of European science completely removed, as the science of art history is a product of Western thinking. Primitivism also still struggled with negative connotations, although it succeeded in broad artistic and intellectual spheres connect the concept of "primitive" or "primitiv's" with the value in the sense of value in art. But it is still possible to say that the negative connotations of primitivism is struggling especially among unskilled public. We can talk about primitivism's effects in the second half of the 20th century, we should separate the intuitive behavior and instinct unconscious primitivism as conscious primitivism , which can generally be understood as meaning of a conscious regression, a return to "originál" cleaner. We can perhaps say that from the beginning of the history of mankind is bound up with what is called "regression". In the minds of the Roman philosophers appears deprecation newer and more efficient...

Vlogs as a part of the Czech Youtube community's works
Beran, Matěj ; BENDOVÁ, Helena (advisor) ; DOLENSKÝ, Martin (referee)
This thesis is focused on Czech YouTube vlogs, their authors and spectators. I have therefore been watching those videos and attending events in the YouTube community over a few months and also asking authors about their motivation to create videos as well as the spectator's motivation to watch them. I have categorised and analysed Czech vlogs and associated videos. I have formed an overall opinion by applying texts by various sociologists and other theoreticians with the aim of presenting an integrated view on this topic. Youtubers and vlogs have the power to influence their audience as there is such a large number of spectators, mostly children.
