Language of light in the public space

RESUME V diplomové práci, Řeč světla ve veřejném prostoru, zpracovávám otázku role světla a světelných reklam ve vztahu k architektuře a volnému umění na území dnešní České republiky. Zajímám se o celkovou estetiku, ale i dobové podmínky, které tuto oblast ovlivnily, ať již umělecky, nebo technologicky. Pokouším se situaci v tehdejším Československu uvést do celosvětového kontextu. První část je věnována období největšího rozkvětu světelné reklamy, tedy dvacátým a třicátým letům. Pokouším jsem se o zmapování celkového vývoje světelné techniky a osvětlování vůbec. V uvedené době byla světelná reklama úzce spjata s architekturou. Na konkrétních příkladech staveb poukazuji na roli denního i umělého světla. Zmiňuji zde také dobové příklady volné umělecké tvorby, související se světlem. V druhé, obsáhlejší části, se zabývám světelnými reklamami především v období padesátých a šedesátých let, s ohledem na tehdejší ekonomickou, hospodářskou a politickou situaci, která úzce souvisela s tímto uměleckoprůmyslovým odvětvím. V průběhu výzkumu jsem dospěla k tomu, že role světelných reklam v sedmdesátých a osmdesátých letech klesla na minimum. Popisuji zde, proč se tak stalo a jak v této době vypadaly a v jaké nové formy se přetransformovaly. Závěrem své práce ve stručnosti popisuji situaci devadesátých let, kdy...

SELinux security policies for chosen applications of KDE desktop environment

This thesis deals with technologies of SELinux security policy writing. Furthermore the thesis analyzes userspace of GNU/Linux operating system with special focus on KDE desktop environment. On the basis of this analysis a bottom-up methodics to create a security policy is devised. Acquired knowledge is then used in practice when realizing the main goal of the thesis, which is to create example security policies for chosen KDE applications. When describing technologies of security policy writing the thesis draws information from available sources of information. Input for userspace analysis are available electronic sources of information and author's own experience with analyzed applications. This is used with common philosophic principles to devise bottom-up methodics of policy writting. Following act of policy building draws from defined security goals, acquired knowledge, created methodics and defined usecases. Theoretical contribution of the thesis is devised methodics of userspace policy building. Main practical contribution are then created example SELinux policies for chosen KDE applications. The structure of the thesis follows its goals. For them three parts are created: background research of available resources, author's own theoretical contemplations and practical output of the thesis. Those parts are then devided into sections according to needs of each topic.

Oscillation of Interfacial Meniscus during the Formation of Bubbles

A closer look at the interphase meniscus in the model system with a transparent plate using a high-speed camera has showed that after detachment of the bubble the meniscus moves to the lower orifice rim. On that rim the meniscus oscillate dumped by increasing pressure in the space below the plate. In the description of the bubble growth at the orifice during so called waiting period accrue the equations describing the oscillatory behavior of the meniscus. Together with the nonlinear Rayleigh-Plesset equation it results in a bifurcation behavior - the volume of bubbles differ by up to 50% from the mean at certain values of the gas flow. This phenomenon has not been previously identified as the time-averaged values of bubble sizes conceal this effect.

Space Tourism

This diploma thesis analyzes the actual travelling possibilities into space for space tourists. Following a general clarification of key concepts in the area of cosmonautics, aeronautical technology and physics as well as definition of space tourism and space tourist, this thesis deals with travelling to the International Space Station by means of the Russian spaceship Sojuz TMA. A review for the significant initiative Ansari X Prize follows, which became the moving power for emergence of private companies in the field of manned cosmonautics. After that, a cross-sectional analysis of the most successful space project in the Ansari X Prize Competition by Virgin Galactic, being the leader on the nascent market of commercial suborbital flights, is performed. Virgin Galactic offers its clients so called suborbital jumps on the threshold of space for the fragment of high price in comparison with a several-day stay on the ISS. The thesis is concluded by author's questionnaire involving two groups of experts: technical experts as well as marketing and product development professionals in the field of tourism.

Riedlbauchová, Veronika: Hrubínovy návraty do Posázaví (Prostorová poetika "lešanské" tvorby: U stolu, Romance pro křídlovku, Zlatá reneta, Černá denice, Lešanské jesličky), diplomová práce, Pedagogická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy v Praze, Praha 2003,170 s. Práce interpretuje Hrubínovu poetiku prostoru v pěti dílech z padesátých a šedesátých let, která se váží ke krajině Posázaví a která jsou příznačná svou lyrickou epičností (popř. epickou lyričností). Vedle obecného seznámení s básníkovým chápáním prostoru podává zevrubnější vhled do prostorů krajiny a světnice, do vztahu exteriéru a interiéru a na něj napojených mezních prostorů okna, dveří a řeky. Vymezuje triadické členění prostoru pod zemí - země - vesmíru a s nimi souvisejícího prostoru těla. Zabývá se dynamickostatickým uspořádáním prostoru, v jehož rámci reflektuje také jazykovou strukturu daných skladeb. Tato interpretační práce je prokládána četnými citacemi pramenů, v přiložené bibliografii odkazuje na studie o interpretovaných dílech i na teoretické spisy o prostoru. St. Clement's church in Stará Boleslav in the context of contemporary romanesque fine arts

V AJ The main objective of this work is to introduce St Clemenťs church in Stará Boleslav based on available resources. We observe beginnings this Romanesque sanctuary in the broader context of sacral architecture arisen in the course of early Middle Ages in přemyslid stronghold (St Wenceslas church and the church of unknown dedication). The archeological excavation very contributed to the chronology of this construction and we valorize his results. But the basic point is summary essay about St Clemenťs church in scope of its history, architecture and mural paintings. Interpretation of iconographical draft in the context of dedication and patronage. The outline of dating and assumption of influence in the development of fine art in Central Europe.

Holan's Legacy. Genre and Forming Principles of Holan's Late Lyric Poetry

Diplomová práce se zabývá posledními čtyřmi lyrickými sbírkami Vladimíra Holana, psanými v rozmezí let 1961-1977 (jedná se o sbírky Na sotnách, Asklépiovi kohouta, Předposlední a Sbohem?), tedy pátou a závěrečnou etapou tvorby a života autora, jak ji vyčleňuje Vladimír Justl ve své studii "Pět dějství dramatu života a díla Vladimíra Holana" (JUSTL 2000). Jejím cílem je podrobné postižení charakteru těchto děl, hlavní těžiště práce však spočívá v analýze tvarných a žánrových principů, na kterých jsou sbírky založeny, práce se proto snaží rozkrýt všechny dílčí aspekty těchto autorských postupů. Stěžejním úkolem diplomové práce je velmi různorodé a co do počtu i rozsáhlé texty jistým způsobem utřídit a pokusit se o jejich kategorizaci, zdůraznit jejich základní charakteristiky a smysl a odpovědět na otázky, proč autor volil právě takové principy a jak koncipoval svůj básnický svět, tedy zastřešující reflexe získaných poznatků. Vzhledem k rozsáhlosti Holanova básnického materiálu z těchto let a vzhledem k prostoru, kterého se v rámci diplomové práce dostává, se bádání omezilo pouze na výše zmíněné čtyři sbírky lyriky, i když by bylo zajisté nesmírně zajímavé sledovat genezi jednotlivých motivů, témat, postupů apod. v rámci celého díla autora.

The Church of Annunciation in Premonstraterian Abbey at Teplá

Pospíšil_abstrakt v AJ.txt Resumé Matěj Pospíšil The Church of Annunciation in Norbertian Abbey in Teplá This paper is monographic description of architecture of Abbey church in Teplá, with accent on original form from the beginning of the 13th century. The monastery was found in West Bohemia by noble Hroznata, as a compensation of participation abandon in crusade. The Abbey church was constructed perhaps from 1193 till 1232, when it was dedicated. It has form of three-aisled hall with transept, with main choir with two smaller choir chapels aside. Two towers are built above the western frontispiece. It's the oldest hall church in Bohemia. Its hall form appears from the form of group of Bavarian hall churches, the towers have resonance of incoming Gothic, as it can be seen in Bamberg. The original choir part was replaced by choir polygon about the year of 1300. The interior of church passed in 17th and 18th century baroque adjustment. This remarkable monument reflects the variety of architecture of Central Europe in early 13th century. Jakub František Prokyš The bachelor work Jakub František Prokyš is intent on a successful painter who lived in the 18th century. He originally came from Slaný but his life fate took him into culturally developing South Bohemia. It was a great chance for him. Strongly flourishing Schwarzenberg's family were establishing their position in Bohemia not only by buying new areas but as well as by improving their former and newly gained dominion. That is why the Schwarzenbergs employed a lot of important architects, painters and sculptors. Jakub František Prokyš was among them. Everything has not been cleared up about Prokyš´ destiny up today. There are a lot of questions which answers we are still looking for. Basically, until to his coming to South Bohemia we do not have real data about his life and apprenticeship. Even in his South Bohemian life many questions are hidden. It is the most remarkable to follow how respectable person could become from a quite unknown artist. He got among notable people. He earned enough money to be able to buy his own house and take care of his family during his life. However, professional success was changed by family tragedies. He was a great fresco painter as well as he could paint even altar paintings. It is strange that his very early works are considered to be his best ones. Those were ordered by Joseph Adam Schwarzenberg. The most space is devoted to those works of art in my bachelor work. The aim of the work is my attempt at closer outlline of Prokyš´not well recognized life.
