Communication of patients with artificial lung ventilation

The Bachelor thesis concerns communication with patients having the artificial pulmonary ventilation. The theoretical part is dedicated to problems in the field of communication and artificial pulmonary ventilation. However, its main knowledge domain is mapping the possibilities of different communication methods and techniques with focus on people that are unable to communicate in a usual way. The empirical part of the study discovers awareness and skills in the field of communication among nurses who work with these patients. As a part of my thesis there are also two interviews with patients who communicate untraditionally.

This bachelor thesis deals with public contracts from point of view of central purchasing system for the public sector. The existence of central contracting authorities abroad is going to be examined after the presentation of current state of public procurement in the Czech Republic. After the comparison of particular systems of public procurement a model of the Central agency for the public sector in the Czech Republic is going to be chosen. The practical part is focused on the situation after founding the Central agency for the public sector, on a principle of efficiency, transparency, on possible savings after the implementation of this agency and on the content of its activities. In the end of this thesis opinions of parliamentary political parties on establishing the Central agency for the public sector in the Czech Republic are presented.

SPIRITUALITY AND RELIGIOSITY OF SENIORS

The presented bachelor thesis is titled ``Spirituality and Religiosity of Seniors{\crqq}. The terms spirituality, religiosity and spiritual needs are not exactly clear at the moment in our society. Despite that, the spiritual dimension of man is a part of the so called holistic view of man as a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual being. This work brings a closer characteristic of spiritual dimension and clarifies what role spiritual needs can play in the life of a senior. The work is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, the terms spirituality and religiosity are explained and possible spiritual needs of clients, elementary psychology of old age and atheism are characterized. The following have been included among spiritual needs: the need to find a sense of life, the need to find a sense of suffering, the need of transcendence, the need to be loved and to love, the need of belief, the need of hope, the need to have a clear conscience, the need to forgive others, the need of prayer and meditation and the need of symbols and images. The aim of the work is to define spiritual needs of seniors. It also attempts to find out if these needs are fulfilled and to what extent. Qualitative and quantitative research methods were combined. In the quantitative part of the research the method of asking questions was used. Questionnaire was the technique of data collection. Two working hypotheses related to the aims were chosen. In the qualitative part the technique of an interview was chosen on the basis of a narrative method. The research was carried out in a Home for seniors in Veselí nad Lužnicí and in a Care home in Veselí nad Lužnicí. Information obtained from the questionnaires was processed manually using the tick method and descriptive statistics. Bar charts and pie charts were used for graphical representation of the data. Program Microsoft Excel was used to produce the graphs. In the discussion, the results of the research are compared with specialized literature and working hypotheses are evaluated. Own opinions of the given problems and recommendations for practice are stated in the conclusion.

Good dying from a view of nurses

This bachelor thesis describes the issue of care for dying patients and dying in hospital. The theoretical part develops the concepts of palliative care, hospice care, needs of the dying, human dignity and also deals with the legalization of euthanasia. Empirical use of quantitative research seeks views of nurses about the last moments of life of the patient, prospect of meeting last wishes of the dying, good dying and also about feelings that nurses perceive while taking care of the dying. The interpreted results also seek views on the legalization of authanasia. The thesis should be a stimulus for reflection on the shortcomings in the care of terminally ill and dying and should lead to a better care for these patients.

Pregnancy, birth and new-born care in the 16 th and 17 th centuries professional practices and reflection

The bachelor's thesis deals with pregnancy, birth, child-bed and new-born care in the early modern period. It attempts to reveal how women and the society of the period understood the knowledge on conception, fetus, sterility and child mortality. Using the examples of medical books from the 16th and 17th centuries, the work describes the professional practices of doctors and mid-wives and compares them with contemporary medical science. It also examines how the information from the medical books penetrated the everyday lives of the noble society.

Dans ce mémoire de diplôme, on a essayé de démontrer la problématique linguistique du monde actuel. La tendance l'unification de l'Europe du point de vue monnaitaire, politique mais aussi langagire se reflte dans tous les domaines de la vie. On a essayé d'analyser les stratégie de l'Union Européenne, plus particulirement de la France et de la République Tchque pour garder la diversification culturelle. Mme si on avoue certains avantages l'unification européenne on se rend compte aussi des menaces qui en résolvent. La multiplicité des langues est un phénomne naturel qui existe depuis la nuit des temps. Cependant, comme on avait vu, il n'a pas empché l'homme de "rver" d'une langue universelle, une langue unique pour tous les peuples et sur toute la Terre. Cette idée de langue commune n'est pas restée qu'une simple utopie. Quelques langues naturelles sont devenues internationales un moment de l'histoire (c'est le cas notamment du français, parlé dans toute l'Europe la fin du XVIIeme sicle; et aujourd'hui de l'anglais, utilisé comme langue de communication). Mais trs vite, les hommes se sont rendu compte que créer une langue universelle s'avérait tre de l'ordre du possible.
