Law education in the general heigh school

Práce se zaměřuje na zmapování podmínek a možností výuky právní výchovy na gymnáziích. Je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. Toto téma není nikde příliš zpracované, proto je těžiště celé práce v empirické části. Tato část se věnuje analýze statických forem obsahu vzdělání (školské dokumenty a učebnice), dále je součástí sonda do reality českých škol, která se zaměřuje na zmapování podmínek realizace výuky práva na gymnáziích. Na závěr práce je uveden přehled a charakteristika nejrůznějších projektů, které se zabývají právní výchovou a vyučující je mohou využívat pro zlepšení a zatraktivnění výuky. V závěru práce jsou zhodnocena všechna získaná data a informace.

The Development and the Role of International Criminal Justice in Today's World

This thesis deals with international criminal justice, which began to influence international politics during the last twenty years. After the end of the Cold War, a lot of armed conflicts were breaking out. They were accompanied by unprecedented inhuman acts and atrocities. The international community had to find a solution for how to respond to such events. In 1993, the United Nations Security Council acted under Chapter VII of The Charter of the United Nations and decided unanimously upon the establishing of an ad hoc International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. The Tribunal's role was to prosecute persons responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law committed during the Balkans conflict. A year later, in 1994, the Security Council decided to establish another ad hoc tribunal - The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, which served to punish the architects of Rwandan genocide. Both tribunals sped up negotiations and the decision to establish the permanent International Criminal Court, whose objective is to help end impunity for the perpetrators of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community. Bachelor graduation thesis deals with economic evaluation of implementation of international conventions in the Czech Republic. Document which is used as an example is Convention on access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters. It defines terms related to international law. Thesis describes parts of the Convention. Regulatory impact analysis is used in order to compare benefits and costs of implementation. At the conclusion the method is applied to the Convention.

The influence of the quality of institutional environment on the economic performance

The diploma thesis focuses on a broad issue of the institutional quality and its impacts on a real economy. It summarizes important theoretical approaches involving not only institutions and their influence on a behavior of economic subjects (New Institutional Economics, New Comparative Economics), but also a behavior of politicians (Public Choice Theory) as they contribute to the formation of the institutional environment notably. The thesis pays to a historical outline, consequences and the evolution of institutional environment in the countries of Central Europe (The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary). The analytical part of the thesis focuses on the qualitative analysis of the most significant elements of the institutional environment in the countries mentioned above: the security of the private ownership and its observance, the law enforcement, the corruption rate, the quality of entrepreneurial environment, the effectiveness and the quality of a regulation and not least the governance effectiveness on government and private level.

Conversion to Judaism a Reflection to Jewish Oral Tradition and History

The thesis deals with conversion to Judaism from the point of view of the Jewish oral tradition and history. First part is focused on the general issue of conversions, laws and regulations of the Jewish law (Halakha) dealing with conversions, and views held by scholars belonging to the Talmudic period. Chronologically ordered sections follow, containing examples of conversions of both individuals and ethnic groups (Samaritans) of the Biblical period with an emphasis on their presence in written oral tradition, in Mishna, Gemarah and midrashes. Examples of converts of the Hellenic and Roman periods are presented in a similar fashion. This part is concluded with a chapter on converts in the Sassanid Babylonia. The thesis then presents examples of conversions from the late Hellenic period and early Middle Ages, including peripheral parts of the then know world - northern Africa, Ethiopia, Yemen and the Khazar Khaganate in the steppes along the Volga river. The last part of the thesis consists of examples of individual conversions to Judaism in the Europe of Middle Ages and the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Citizens on Constitutional Competencies of a President - January 2017

January survey made an inquiry into attitudes of citizens towards constitutional competencies of a president. Questions in the survey concerned the range of presidential competencies in general and also with regard to several particular competencies such as granting of amnesty or stopping a lawsuit, dismissing the Chamber of Deputies and refusing the law passed by the parliament.

Government concept of the fight against corruption from 1999 to the present

This thesis is dedicated to government anti-corruption struggle in the period from 1999 to present. The key objective is to evaluate which of the measures specified in the government policies were fulfilled and if they have a real impact on reducing the scope for corruption. The theoretical part explains the concept of corruption and the basis of the various typologies of this concept. Following the demarcation of motives for corrupt behavior and the costs associated with this behavior, then I allude to various ways of measuring corruption used in the Czech environment. Next chapter focuses on the definition of corruption from the perspective of criminal law whereas links to crimes with signs of corruption. In the practical part are incorporated findings from previous chapters to evaluate the government's anti-corruption policies within a specified period. The conclusion analyzes the nuanced measures which government has overlooked and also assesses the priorities of particular parts of Anti-Corruption Barometer, which are not sufficiently applied in the Czech Republic.

This thesis is a theoretical study that characterizes shared childcare after divorce as the most suitable post-divorce arrangement. This assumption is based on developmental changes in the European family from the time of the French Revolution, the development of family law and important aspects of family law, as well as on the needs of children, and definitions of maternal and paternal love. This hypothesis is also supported by the results of foreign research, which compares the lives of children in different post-divorce arrangements. The following paper discusses mediation as an appropriate way of helping parents achieve a solution that is suitable for all participants in the dispute. In the conclusion some case studies are presented.

Comparison of women's rights in the USA and the Czech Republic

The Master's Thesis deals with women's rights in the Czech Republic and in the United States of America. The aim of the study is to compare women's rights and opportunities in education, labour market and family life. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the role of women in society in terms of education, voting rights and employment on labour market. Special attention is focused on family law, mainly on benefits for mothers in different life situations. The practical part of the thesis consists of two parts, a primary empirical research in the form of individual personal interviews and an interpretation of secondary statistical data. In the end of the thesis there is a comparison of both countries based on the theoretical information and the results of the empirical research.
