Determination of CO2 exhaust emissions for CNG, petrol and diesel vehicles
Chytil, Ivo ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the topic of Carbon dioxide emissions that are created by Petrol, Diesel and CNG vehicles. In the first part of the thesis, the results of theoretical calculations are compared with the values of the manufacturer of the specific vehicle. In the second part, a specific method has been selected for calculations with real data from transport. The savings of CO2 produced by the specific vehicle are expressed in percentage – depending on the fuel used. The operating expenses from the real data are calculated and compared with hybrid and electric vehicles. In the final part of the thesis, the ratio of fleet type vehicles to the financial/ecological aspect was proposed.
Valuation of the company ČEPRO, a.s.
Trefil, Tomáš ; Brabenec, Tomáš (advisor) ; Leja, Marek (referee)
Purpose of this masters thesis is a valuation of ČEPRO, a.s., which provides mainly transportation, warehousing and sale of crude oil products. DCF Equity was used as a main income valuation method and as a supporting method was chosen the comparable approach using multiples. The thesis comprises also financial analysis, strategic analysis, analysis of value drivers and financial plan.
The use of BEAS-2B cell line for micronucleus assay in genetic toxicology
Červená, Tereza ; Rössner, Pavel (advisor) ; Rubeš, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with the application of BEAS-2B cell line for micronucleus assay in genetic toxicology. It is divided into two main parts: a) theoretical introduction to the analysis and search for suitable models for testing the impact of air pollution and manufactured nanoparticles, b) practical part that describes the results of micronuclei induction by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), extractable organic matter (EOM) from diesel exhaust particles obtained from emissions of three types of fuel and engineered nanoparticles. BEAS-2B cell line is a nonmalignant human model of lung epithelium which seems to be suitable for micronucleus assay. This assay is commonly used for determining the genotoxicity of various substances to wide variety of cell cultures and also in human studies. In this thesis, the following substances were tested: benzo[a]pyrene, 3-nitrobenzanthrone and 1-nitropyrene as carcinogenic PAHs commonly found in polluted air; EOMs from exhaust particles of 100 % diesel fuel, a blend of diesel fuel and 30 % of biodiesel, 100 % biodiesel and two types of engineered nanoparticles (TiO2 and Ag). The cells were treated with the compounds for 28, 48 and 72 hours. The results confirm the suitability of BEAS-2B cell line as a model for testing the genotoxicity of substances under...
Multifractal analysis of petrol and diesel prices in the Czech Republic
Baletka, Martin ; Krištoufek, Ladislav (advisor) ; Gregor, Martin (referee)
This thesis examines scaling properties of petrol and diesel prices in the Czech Republic and a crude oil price over the period from January 2004 to February 2013. Using generalised Hurst exponent and multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis techniques we find out that crude oil market is efficient, do not contain long memory and the returns exhibit monofractal behaviour. On the other hand, petrol and diesel markets in the Czech Republic are not efficient, because their returns contain long-range dependence in autocorrelations and exhibit multifractal behaviour caused mostly by fat-tailed distribution. Thus, fuels can be modelled by complex methods like Markov switching multifractal model. JEL Classification C15, C16, C46 Keywords petrol, diesel, crude oil, long memory, multifrac- tality, GHE, MF-DFA Author's e-mail martin.baletka@ies-prague.org Supervisor's e-mail kristoufek@ies-prague.org Abstrakt Tato práce zkoumá škálování cen benzínu a motorové nafty v České repub- lice a ceny ropy na datech v období od ledna 2004 do února 2013.
Alternative fuels for diesel engines
Baránek, Adam ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Internal combustion engines have become part of everyday life. Because oil reserves are diminishing and there is evidence of environment harmfulness of oil combustion, there is an increasing use of alternative fuels. This thesis will outline of the most commonly used alternative fuels in diesel engines with a list of advantages and disadvantages, possibilities of current use and their potential development.
Critical Sector Analysis of the Fuel Market
Jaroš, Martin ; Strašil, Pavel (referee) ; Škapa, Stanislav (advisor)
In my bachelor‘s thesis I have analysed the diesel fuel market in the Czech Republic from the point of view of the petrol stations offers as well the consumers demand. It concerns oligopoly market form, where the front positions are taken by foreign brands. I have determined the structure type by the data referring to the market power of particular petrol station networks and also thanks to the price research itself. Consumers behave quite often very illogically in this market due to the lack of available information. These conclusions I have obtained by the market research I did on active drivers. A modern solution is a new web portal establishment based on cooperation with petrol stations, which would provide information about the fuel market to the drivers.
Unit Injectors
Cihlář, Lukáš ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the description of unit-injector system. Injection system used in passenger cars as well as Unit-Pump-System used in trucks is described. One chapter deals with general problems of emissions, including description systems of the reduction exhaust gases. In the end is the practical application of the system in the engines of the Volkswagen Group.
Technology of Selective Catalytic Reduction for Passenger Cars
Jurík, Juraj ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes the selective catalytic reduction technology. It concerned of reducing nitrogen oxides in diesel engines. It describes components of the technology, their function and location in system. in first chapter there are described harmful substances of exhaust gas in connection with this technology. Second chapter contains description of emission standards. Next chapters are describing selective catalytic reduction and solutions of some manufacturers.
Emission Directives for Tractor Engines
Jelínek, Petr ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the current emission standards that complain tractor manufacturers to develop new engines and the technologies that effectively reduce harmful substances in exhaust gases and various tractor manufacturers and their method of use of various technologies.
