The contribution of corporate social responsibility for business

Bachelor's thesis deals with the CSR, the author tries to present this modern phenomenon as a competitive advantage of companies. The study defines the basic characteristics of CSR, mentions its mistaken understanding. The chief part of this study includes analysis of the benefits of social responsibility. The theoretical concept is studied in practice. The author took as a model for the analysis the company Nestlé. The conclusion of thesis contains an evaluating of Nestle Company CSR Report and own opinion of an inclusion of socially responsible business activities in corporate strategy.
Business ethics

The role of ethics in business is often underestimated and we often come across an argument that a company will prefer its own profit instead of ethics. The aim of this thesis is to prove that ethics has its proper place in business and that its assertion can benefit all parties involved. This is demonstrated in three chosen areas including advertising, customer relations and relations to employees. This thesis also introduces the corporate social responsibility model, as well as the role of ethics in it.
Empirical findings on CSR in the Czech Republic - Comparison of statements of the Czech and international firms

This diploma thesis describes the situation of CSR in the Czech Republic, by investigating CSR statements addressed to the stakeholders of the Czech firms on their websites, and comparing them to the results of a world investigation. The theoretical part involves a definition of CSR, its history and wider context of sustainable development. It also describes the grounds of stakeholder theory and stakeholder relationship management. The practical part begins with a description of the world investigation of CSR statements, and continues with other investigations about the importance of stakeholders for the firms which were conducted in the West, and in the Middle and Eastern Europe. Researches in the Czech Republic follow. Finally, the results of this diploma thesis are introduced -- the groups of stakeholders to which Czech firms address their statements and categories of these statements. As a conclusion, recommendations for the Czech firms are formulated
Corporate Social Responsibility in Czech companies' practice

This thesis represents the complex view of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept and above all describes the practical use of CSR by the Czech companies. The first part contents the introduction to CSR and information concerning global and european initiatives related to CSR. The second chapter creates the fundamental part of this thesis and is focused on the situation in the Czech republic, awareness and attitude of Czech public and companies to CSR and first of all it includes the analysis of CSR practiced by Czech companies, which is based on the surveys carried out in the Czech republic in connection with this topic. The conclusions of the second chapter are consequently verified on the practical example of two companies. Here two very different companies are confronted - big company involving the foreign capital (part of foreign TNC) and small originally czech company.

Corporate Social Responsibility and its influence on corporate image

The master thesis deals with the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility and its impact on corporate image. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of CSR and the environment of a company that CSR activities relate to. Subsequently, the thesis is concerned with corporate image and on the example of several studies in this area is examining the relationship between corporate social responsibility, company's image and purchasing behavior of consumers. The next chapter is focused on communication of socially responsible activities, as accuracy and efficiency of corporate communication may influence perception of corporate image and consequently customer's purchase intention. The next section analyzes the diverse portfolio of socially responsible activities of the Bosch Group that the author got to know thanks to an opportunity of a one year internship at this company. The Bosch CSR program represents an example of consistently planned CSR activities that are a part of a long-term corporate strategy. The last chapter of the thesis includes an own survey, in which the author focuses on the consumers' knowledge about the concept of socially responsible behavior, about trends in development and in particular about its effect on firms' image and purchasing behavior of customers. Results of the survey are compared with related surveys and studies.
The change of goals in corporate governance of Canadian companies

The purpose of my thesis "The change of goals in corporate governance of Canadian companies" is to find out CSR activities of chosen companies with emphasis on ecological and social activities. It examines the change of view on product manufacturing and thereby the influence on stakeholders. In the first part of thesis I focus on theoretical base of corporate governance and CSR. It zooms in the differences between two approaches -- focus on shareholders and focus on stakeholders. I analyze tools and methods of corporate governance and their influence on evaluation. In the second part I focus on analysis of real companies and application of theoretical knowledge from the first part of thesis. I analyze three Canadian companies, RioTinto Alcan -- mining company, MEC -- producer of outdoor equipment, RBC Bank -- Canadian bank. All companies are the best in their industries. Analysis of activities of three companies enables point to general CSR rules not only in Canadian environment. It is possible to demonstrate world trends of ecological and social projects and activities.

Theoretical part of the thesis defines corporate philanthropy, its instruments and describes it as a part of CSR. Practical part of the thesis shows sophisticated strategy of corporate philanthropy on example of 3 companies - T-Mobile Czech Republic, a.s., Johnson&Johnson, s.r.o. and Československá obchodní banka a.s. It also provides study of public attitude towards this issue.
Preparation of T-Mobile for the acquisition of National price for CSR

Thesis is focused on the Corporate Social Responsibility. The main objective of this work is to create an Interim Report on CSR T-Mobile and evaluate it using the method KORP. The theoretical part provides the necessary conceptual apparatus regarding CSR, the National Price for CSR and the principle of the methodology KORP. The practical part describes the brief characteristics of T-Mobile. Contains created Interim Report on CSR with the point evaluation. It also states the strengths and opportunities for the organization of T-Mobile. Conclusion summarizes the importance of CSR and the result of the practical part.
Globalization and the role of transnational corporations
