The theme of Christmas mediated in kindergarten through the work with a book

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of Christmas mediated to children in kindergarten through work with a book. The theoretical part is focused on explaining the terminology, namely the concepts of reading, reading literacy, and reading pre-literacy. The following chapters reflect the areas that need to be developed in children, so that they can read well, with understanding and with joy in the future; the chapters reveal the influence that fairy tales have on preschool children and how emotional intelligence can be developed with reading pre-literacy. As kindergartens must follow the Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education, one of the chapters is also devoted to the analysis of this document in connection with the topic of this thesis. Since the development of the reading pre-literacy is built through reading strategies and RWCT methods, they are discussed in the theoretical part. Also, the lessons presented in the practical part used the reading strategies and the RWCT methods. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter about annotations of selected quality children's books on the Christmas topic. "Home" from the point of view of kindergarten teachers and preschool children and the mediations of this topic to children in kindergarten through books

This diploma thesis deals with the mediation of the topic of home and its forms to children in kindergarten by the method of working with a book. The aim of this work is to select suitable books that offer different forms of home, whether in traditional or alternative form, and to create methodological material for them that would help children understand that each home is different. Based on this methodological material, verify the lessons by three selected teachers and assess according to the reflection whether this material is suitable as a methodology for the topic. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the various forms of home and shows the location of this topic in the Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with the characteristics of preschool children, mainly in terms of social and emotional development, literature for preschool children and methods of working with the book, which are also used in the practical part. Language support for children with different mother languagethrough working with a book in kindergarten

This diploma thesis deals with language support for children with a different mother language through the work with a book in the kindergarten. Its main aim is to design and implement lessons, that are focused on language support for children with different mother language through the work with a book in kindergarten. The effectiveness of the lessons are reflected in the individual levels of speech in the three groups of children with different levels of language support. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of the development of speech and language by the preschool children. Than it contains theoretical data about reading literacy and the ways of its development through the work with a book, also this part contains the specifics ot children with different mother language and the possibilities how to improve the language knowledge. The three groups of children with different mother language are examined in the practical part. Each of the group achieved different level of language during three months. The groups were diagnosed with an input test and an output test. Motive of death in kindergarten mediated through children's literature

This bachelor thesis will convey a research theme of death and its presence as a theme in the kindergarten and amongst its pedagogues and their explanations of it. The goal of this thesis is to map the death-related themes present in kindergarten and the way their presence manifests there. We also strive to create a list of appropriate and qualified literature for children to go along with it and which can be used to work with the idea of death in kindergarten. Using this we are going to create, realise and reflect three lessons containing death-related themes where we would use "work with a book" method in selected kindergarten. Theoretical part of this thesis will concentrate on the death-theme and ways in which children approach said theme - this will be done through characteristics of pre-school child and through their cognitive evolution towards the death-theme. Further on in the practical part of the thesis we will explain the term "reader's pre-literacy" through the work with a book method and read strategies used in kindergarten.
