Links between atmospheric circulation and surface air temperature distributions in climate models
Pejchová Plavcová, Eva ; Kyselý, Jan (advisor) ; Halenka, Tomáš (referee) ; Huth, Radan (referee)
Title: Links between atmospheric circulation and surface air temperature distributions in climate models Abstract: This thesis comprises a collection of five papers dealing with validation of regional climate model (RCM) simulations over Central Europe. The first paper illustrates and discusses problems with observed data that are used for model validation and how the choice of reference dataset affects the outcomes in validating the RCMs' performances. The second paper evaluates daily temperatures, and it indicates that some temperature biases may be related to deficiencies in the simulations of large- scale atmospheric circulation. RCMs' ability to simulate atmospheric circulation and the observed links between circulation and surface air temperatures are examined in detail in the third paper. This article also compares performances of individual RCMs with respect to the driving data by analysing the results for the driving data themselves. The fourth paper focuses on biases in the diurnal temperature range within RCMs and their possible causes by examining links of the errors to the at- mospheric circulation and cloud amount. The last paper investigates the observed relationships between atmospheric circulation and daily precipitation amounts over three regions in the Czech Republic, as well as how these...

Lower urinary tract dysfunctions in patients with diabetes mellitus
Osdal, Arnfinn ; Zachoval, Roman (advisor)
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a endocrine metabolic disorder that is associated with many complications and lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) is one of them. In addition LUTD can be caused by many other disorders and sometimes it can be difficult to isolate the cause. Incidence of diabetes is increasing and prevalence is expected to increase worldwide to 300 million people in 2025. The most important causes for diabetes and lower urinary tract abnormalities are diabetic neuropathy caused by hyperglycaemia. Approximately 50% of diabetic patients develop some form of neuropathy. Diabetes can cause LUTD many ways and research have shown many possible mechanisms involved. Among the suggested mechanisms are up-regulation of muscarinic receptors, smooth muscle hypertrophy, increase in myosin light chain phosphorylation and changes of certain calcium sensitive potassiumchannels (MaxiK). The increasing knowledge of pathophysiology and pathogenesis of LUTD made it necessary with a new approach to patients, terminology changes, better definitions and classifications. Among the contributors is European urologic association (EUA). The importance of preventive measures and good treatment in diabetes can not be underestimated. Their role has an increasing importance today and for the future because of its negative...

Decomposition of aboveground biomass of a herbaceous wetland stand
KLIMOVIČOVÁ, Lucie
The master?s thesis is part of the project GA ČR č. P504/11/1151- Role of plants in the greenhouse gas budget of a sedge fen. This thesis deals with the decomposition of aboveground vegetation in a herbaceous wetland. The decomposition rate was established on the flooded part of the Wet Meadows near Třeboň. The rate of the decomposition processes was evaluated using the litter-bag method. Mesh bags filled with dry plant matter were located in the vicinity of the automatic meteorological station at four randomly selected sites. Values of the decomposition rate were assessed in two experiments. In the first experiment the litter bags were fixed in April 2009. The litter bags were fixed in the vertical position and they had one size. Values of the decomposition rate were assessed for 6 sampling dates and the total exposure time was 2,5 years. The decrease of the total dry mass was 18,37 % in the first year and 13,05 % in the second year. The value of LDR was 0,7227 in the first year and 0,4740 in the second year. In the 2nd experiment the litter bags were fixed in November 2010. The litter bags were fixed in the vertical and horizontal position, respectively, and they were of two sizes (small, big). Values of the decomposition rate were assessed for 2 sampling dates and the total exposure time was one year. The total annual value of LDR was 0,5212 for the vertical bags and 1,0676 for horizontal bags.

Measuring of school discipline from the perpective of primary school's pupils and teachers by using anchoring vignettes method
Vaňkátová, Eva ; Voňková, Hana (advisor) ; Bendl, Stanislav (referee)
This thesis is focused on research of school undiscipline (misbehaviour) by using the anchoring vignettes method. The results obtained of qualitative research (focus groups and in-depth interviews) were used for the compilation of the vignettes and questionnaire. In its theoretical part, the thesis introduces with multi-dimensional concept of school discipline and with works of the other authors. Further the thesis presents an overview of research methods for measuring of school discipline. The practicle parts presents the results of the author's own survey. These results have led for construction of the questionnaire with anchoring vignettes. These ones were compiled by using results of focus groups with 13 - 15 years old pupils and in-depth interviews with their teachers. The final questionnaire will be standardized within author's doctoral studies a thesis. Even so, it appeals that the anchoring vignette method takes its place in educationas scienses. KEYWORDS school discipline/undiscipline, anchoring vignettes method, fosuc group, in-depth interview, self-assessment

The Influence of Acral Setting on the Activation of Muscles in Upper Limbs and Trunk - According to R. Brunkow's Method
Brožová, Alena ; Palaščáková Špringrová, Ingrid (advisor) ; Helcl, František (referee)
Title: The influence of acral settings on the activation of muscles in upper limbs and trunk, according to R. Brunkow's method. Aim: The aim of experimental study was to record the electric activity of particular museles in upper limbs and in the area oftrunk at various angular acra settings and during the activity ofgiven force on the root ofthe arm by means ofsurficial electromyography. Methods: First, bibliographic search was completed. Theoretical knowledge on R. Brunkow's methods, neurophysiological principles of motion management, functional anatomy of arm, functional biomechanics of arm joints and electromyography is summarized in the opening part. Then a random group of probands was selected. Consequently anamnestic date was gained and approximated kinesiological analysis was carried. Afterwards, a record of electrical activity of particular muscles by means of surficial electromyography was created. Every examined person was measured three times; at isometrie contraction 30ř and 70ř of dorsal flexion in wrist and at 70ř of dorsal flexion in wrist and parallel force of 40 N on the root of the arm. The resulting EMG records were processed by means of special software by function Standard Report, by which the value of electric activity integral was gained. The values electric activity integral...

Material hydrophility and hydrophobicity measurements
SEDLÁK, Jiří
The aim of this thesis is to find out using a method based on the size of the contact angle as changes over time surface free energy density polyethylene. Measured samples of discharges were adjusted by varying plasma and increased its surface tension. The theoretical part deals with the surface tension, contact angle and the Young's equation, which describes the relationship between wetting angle and energy at the interface states of matter. This work also mentions the ways in which the measurement is made. In the practical part of the thesis there is described not only the process of measuring, but also the own experiments and their results.

Generic Unpacker of Executable Files
Milkovič, Marek ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Matula, Peter (advisor)
Executable files packing is a process used for compression or protection of these files. The behavior of the packed executable file is difficult to analyze, therefore the packed file needs to be unpacked at first. This work deals with the design and implementation of a generic unpacker that is part of the decompilation chain in the AVG's Retargetable Decompiler. The goal of this work is to create the generic unpacker of executable files, which would be easily extensible, platform and architecture independent, and its ouput would be decompilable. The heuristic analyses are proposed and implemented to achieve the decompilability of the ouput. The results are comparable with the other unpackers used in practice.

The conclusion is divided into several sub-outcomes - recommendations for the respondents, including proposed timetable for implementation, a summary of the best practices in talent management, a description of talent management specification observed according to the focus and the company size, and also the indication of the possible pitfalls of talent management.

Effect of year, cultivar and size of seed potatoes on yield and quality of table potato tubers
CHUCHEL, Jan
In this thesis, the effects of year, variety and size of seed tubers on yield and quality of potato tubers were evaluated. In the two years (2011 and 2012), four potato varieties (Velox, Marabel, Adéla and Laura) were used. Size of seed tubers for all varieties was split into three size fractions: A < 35 mm, B 35-60 mm and C > 60 mm. In both years of observation were monitored following parameters: total and marketable yield, average number of stems per plant, number of tubers per plant, number of tubers per stem, the average weight of tuber, proportion of tuber size in harvested tubers, content of dry matter and starch in tubers fresh matter. Year contributed most to the total variability in total and market tuber yield (51.2%. And 54.4%, respectively). Size of seed tubers showed the highest proportion in the total variability of number of stems per plant (94.7%). Declared cooking type in all evaluated varieties was kept. Table value was significantly affected only by variety.
