Koláčná, Kateřina ; Plchová, Božena (advisor) ; Korandová, Jiřina (referee)
The aim of my thesis is to show reasons, ways and results of initiation Škoda Auto's strategicly important investments. Škoda Auto operates in the eastern-europe and asian markets through several options: licence, full production and assembly lines. It also produces or assembles cars either in its own or Volkswagen's or partner's factories. The reasons for this variability are various, the main ones are to reach as low costs as possible and to gain as large market share as possible. Mostly in the eastern-asian market, Škoda Auto owner, Volkswagen concern, relies on the advantage of positive associations with the Škoda Auto brand and the Czech Republic itself, these associations were created during the second half of the 20th century.

Diet for children with the celiac disease
JUROSZOVÁ, Michaela
Entitled the "Diet for Children with the Celiac Disease", this Bachelor paper aims to map the quality and quantity aspects of a two-week menu served to children suffering the condition. Thus monitored was primarily the intake of energy, proteins, fats and saccharides, and assessed was also the intake of gluten. The theoretical section explains the term of "gluten" and, describing the relevant symptoms, diagnostics, possible complications and prevention practices, it characterizes the disease, including its different forms. Subsequent chapters of the section treat the subject of gluten-free diet and enlist gluten-free and very-low-gluten-containing foods as opposed to those impermissible. Moreover, the section depicts the situation with food additives and controversial foodstuffs. The practical section of the paper relied on the method of qualitative research. The population being researched consisted of 7 respondents who were asked to record in a special sheet all foods they ate within 14 days. The results were processed using the Nutriservis Professional program and then compared with the recommended daily intake of energy, proteins, fats and saccharides. Attention was also paid to the composition of respondents' diet and the types of foodstuffs that they preferred. Each respondent had his or her overall daily intake of gluten evaluated according to the Database of Gluten-Free Products. The data thus collected have been supplemented with those obtained from a questionnaire filled out by the parents. The questionnaire inquired about the school lunchroom meals and the availability of gluten-free foodstuffs on the market. The research results were tabled together with the intakes of individual nutrients recommended to each respondent. As follows from the results, most children are fed twice the recommended energy intake - only two had the energy intake slightly lower than recommended. Five respondents were found to have also the intake of saccharides two times above what is recommended. Conversely, the intake of fats was observed reduced, in some cases to as much as 50% of the recommended figures. As regards the value of gluten intake recommended as maximum, most of the children have not reached one half of the figure. Concerning the gluten-free products available in stores, all parents perceived the situation as good, but quoted as an unpleasant fact the prevailing unavailability of gluten-free meals at public catering facilities. Only two respondents took their meals regularly and one occasionally at such facilities.

The impact of Czech national bank foreign exchange interventions on czech economy during 2014
Hladík, Tomáš ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Řežábek, Pavel (referee)
This thesis analyzes development of selected macroeconomic indicators in the last two years. Czech National Bank selected foreign exchange interventions as the most suitable instrument for further easing of monetary policy and the main reason for their initiation was the risk of deflation at the beginning of 2014. This research compares condition of Czech economy in the period before interventions and then one year after. By combining data analysis with theoretical findings I reached the conclusion that interventions could not affect price developments in such a short period of time. On the other hand, other indicators showed significant improvement, which supported economic growth during 2014.

Vliv podmínek na nutriční hodnotu lososovitých ryb z intenzivních systémů chovu
Vlasák, Jiří
Presented diploma thesis deals with the issue of nutritional characteristics of the fish meat. Practical part is focused on the composition of rainbow trout meat originated from different rearing conditions. Samples for experimental evaluation were taken on June 14th-- 16th, 2014 from five fish-rearing facilities equipped with different rearing system. Ten rainbow trouts in marketable weight were taken from each facility to particular analysis. The fish were measured for length and weight characteristics from which the indices and indicators for condition and exterior evaluation were subsequently calculated. Also the yield and viscerosomatic index of fish were assessed. Biochemical composition of tissues, spectrum of fatty acids and sensory evaluation were assessed for the evaluation of nutritive value. The origin of fish was tested by genetic analysis. The best condition of rainbow trout was found out in flow-through system with short-time recirculation. The highest yield (almost 90%) was reached in fish with initial rearing in fish storage and consequent rearing in fishpond. Biochemical composition of muscle was significantly different mainly in the content of dry matter and fat. There was proved a mutual dependence between the content of dry matter and content of fat. The best results in sensory evaluation were reached in fish from flow-through system, the worst were reached in fish from recirculation facility. Genetic analysis recognised 4 homozygous haplotype and 1 heterozygous haplotype.

Stereotypical Depictions of African Americans on American Film
Žáčková, Julie ; Roraback, Erik Sherman (advisor) ; Veselá, Pavla (referee)
THESIS ABSTRACT Stereotypical Depictions of African Americans on American Film As far as the history of American "moving images" reaches, there have always been African American characters on screen. However, it was already in one of the earliest movies, D.W. Griffith's The Birth of a Nation, that they were portrayed as stereotypical types. Mostly played by white actors with their faces painted black, they were absolutely one-sided and evoking laughter, mockery and even disgust. It is, indeed, Griffith who is until today seen as the originator of stereotypical types on film. All the "basic" stereotypes appeared in his film: the "Mammy", the "Coon", or the "Tragic Mulatta" and marked the beginning of such portrayals of African Americans in movies. In the history of Hollywood studios production, the stereotypes were used over and over, some were reinvented and even new ones emerged. This proved to be an impulse to African American filmmakers who reacted by producing their own film projects, striving to create heroes of their own, heroes that they could look up to in movie theaters. Blaxploitation was the genre that introduced such characters. The wave of African American-produced films continued in the early 1990s. After the enormous box office success of John Singleton's Boyz N the Hood, moviegoers craved...

Speciation of the genus Lethrus (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae) of the eastern mediterranean
Drožová, Dana ; Janšta, Petr (advisor) ; Bezděk, Aleš (referee)
Earth-boring dung beetles of the genus Lethrus Scopoli, 1777 belong to the family Geotrupidae, classified into three subfamilies (Geotrupinae, Lethrinae a Taurocerastinae). The description of about 120 species, divided into nine subgenera, is based on morphology and geographic distribution. Shape of mandibles, ventral mandible processes, pronotum and structure of external male genitalia are used as diagnostic morphological characters for taxa. The richest species diversity is known from Central Asia. The distribution area reaches, in the east, up to Mongolia and China, and in the west, up to Southeast Europe. All species are robust, relatively large flightless beetles with low dispersial ability. They feed on parts of fresh plants instead of feces like other dung beetles. Master thesis is focused on the species distributed in the Eastern Mediterranean and Central Europe. This area is inhabited only by nominotypical subgenus Lethrus. The main goal of thesis is to clear up phylogenetic relationships between species of subgenus and speciation events using molecular genetic methods. We have examined 91 samples of the genus Lethrus using two mitochondrial genes - cytochrome b (382 bp, 80 sequences), cytochrome oxidase I (815 bp, 87 sequences) and nuclear gene 28S rDNA (D2-D5) (1100 bp, 11 sequences)....

Voltammetric Determination of 4-Aminobiphenyl at Modified Carbon Paste Electrodes
Kalusová, Michaela ; Barek, Jiří (advisor) ; Navrátil, Tomáš (referee)
Amino derivatives of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are well-known chemical carcinogens which should be carefully monitored in our environment. They are amenable to anodic oxida- tion on suitable solid or paste electrodes. This fact was exploited for voltammetric determina- tion of 4-aminobiphenyl on unmodified carbon paste electrode and carbon paste electrodes modified by montmorillonite and sepiolite. The optimum pH of BR buffer for measurement on unmodified carbon paste electrode is pH 2, pH 10 for CPE-SEP and pH 11 for CPE-MMT. It was possible to increase sensitivity of the determination using adsorptive stripping voltam- metry on modified electrodes. The optimum time for accumulation of 4-aminobiphenyl is 5 minutes. The limits of quantification of the order of 10−6 mol dm−3 were obtained for each electrode. After accumulation, the limits of quantification decreased to the 10−7 mol dm−3 . The newly developed method was tested for the determination of 4-aminobiphenyl in model sam- ples of drinking and river water, reaching limits of quantification of the order of 10−7 mol dm−3 .

Viktor Barvitius (1834-1902)
Klouzová, Aneta ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Machalíková, Pavla (referee)
English abstract: In this my master thesis I attempt to depicture comprehensively the life-work of Viktor Barvitius (1834 - 1902), one of the Czech Pioneers of Modern Realism. Tracing the fates and influences that had formed the oeuvre of this fancier of urban turmoil helps us to figure out his positron within the kontext of period art. Barvitiuses creation embraces all main domains of painting of the time: portrayals, historical painting, genre; it has reached its peak during his stay in France between 1865 and 1867. For his immediate reaction to the French Modern Realism and together with Karel Purkyně and Soběslav Pinkas, Barvitius represents one of the prophets of the Czech Programme Realism. In 1877, Barvitius got a commission as an inspector of the SVPU Art Gallery; Czech museum culture is a great deal due to his activity on the field. Barvitiuses whole life artistic work, both theoric and practical, make him an important figure of Czech cultural history. Hooked illustration and period and later reviews make an integral part of my thesis. It also includes the list of Barvitiuses art pieces owned by Czech museums and galleries, Czech National Gallery in Prague, the art pieces that were the subjects of auction-sale and the inventory of his art work.

Death Penalty
Obukhov, Maxim ; Novotný, Oto (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
Death Penalty - Summary In my thesis I focused on one of the most discussed and one of the oldest institutes of criminal law - the death penalty. Despite the fact that the death penalty was abolished in most of countries (as a result of the abolitionist movement), some countries still continue to apply it. Also public opinion on this issue is not constant. The purpose of this research is not just to explore all aspects of capital punishment in the modern world, but also to reach a subjective opinion on this issue. This thesis is composed of five chapters. Each deals with the different aspects of the capital punishment. In the first chapter, I focused on the history of capital punishment in the world, from ancient world to the early 20th century. Chapter describes the application of the death penalty in different times and different cultures. I analyze the laws of different nations and countries and describe the methods of executions. I also pay attention to the opinion of well known authors (philosophers and politicians). The second chapter describes the history of the death penalty in Czech Republic, from the early beginning until abolition of death penalty in 1990. The third chapter is devoted to analysis of the current situation in the world. It describes laws and methods of executions in the countries...
