SLIPKOVÁ, Aneta
This thesis is focused on the current status of self-esteem and confidence of nurses while doing the nursing practice. To evaluate current status the general nurses were asked about importance, and if they have enough self-esteem and confidence while doing the nursing practice. Furthermore, I asked questions focused on the problematics of building self-esteem and confidence and how nurses care about their self-esteem and confidence. The thesis is made up of the empirical and theoretical part. Theoretical part is focused on the personalities of general nurses and their formation. Furthermore, this part is focused on factors which affect self-esteem and confidence of the nurses while doing the nursing practice and it also includes the research what the nurses do for their mental health in order for their self-esteem and confidence to be on the appropriate level for doing the nursing practice. The empirical part is made up of one objective. This objective is to determine if the nurses have enough self-esteem and confidence while doing the nursing practice. For the empirical part the technique of semi-structured interview was chosen. Gathered information were processed and divided into nine categories. The results of the research show, that general nurses can, in their own words, say what self-esteem and confidence is and are able to speak about the importance of self-esteem and confidence when doing the nursing practice. Self-esteem and confidence of the nurses is on appropriate level for doing the nursing practice, but their approach to their job is responsible and humble, both for new and experienced nurses. Their self-esteem and confidence while doing the nursing practice is affected by specific factors which are connected to their profession. To achieve the necessary level of self-esteem and confidence, their personal values in their personal life are also important. The research shown that while doing the nursing practice the nurses have more self-esteem and confidence than in their personal life, since they would not be able to do operations and the nursing practice in their best states of mind. Because of that in order for the nurses to have self-esteem and confidence on the appropriate level they should care about their mental health. The interviews shown that nurses try their best to care about their mental health, even though sometimes it is not possible due to high difficulty of their profession. This thesis helps to introduce the problematics of self-esteem and confidence of the general nurses at different departments. This includes personal opinions of nurses on the importance of self-esteem and confidence while doing the nursing practice, factors which affects these personal values and the importance of mental hygiene for doing the nursing practice.

The Body of the Other: The Phenomenology of Intersubjectivity
Krejcar, Václav ; Zika, Richard (advisor) ; Novotný, Karel (referee)
In my diploma thesis I deal with the topic of experience of another person from the phenomenological philosophical point of view. The two major motives of my diploma thesis are: the revelation of the shift in thinking of Edmund Husserl in the phenomenology of intersubjectivity and showing that Merleau-Ponty went way beyond Husserls thinking. In the first chapter I clarify what Husserls term 'empathy' meant in his Cartesian Meditations and how this conception follows the theory of Theodor Lipps. Then I explaine Husserls thinking of intersubjectivity from the book Ideas Pertaining to a Pure Phenomenology and to a Phenomenological Philosophy - Second Book. In the third chapter I describe the phenomenology of intersubjectivity in the work of Merleau-Ponty. The fourth chapter is an interpretation and subsequent comparison of both authors. My main aim is to show that Merleau-Pontys comprehension of 'intercorporeity' surpasses Husserls conception of intersubjectivity. The final chapter displays the critical thinking of my opinion according to Zahavis interpretation of Merleau-Pontys philosophy, from Husserl and Transcendental Intersubjectivity. In this diploma thesis I bring the analysis of one source of thinking about the experience of another person to an end. I have accomplished the imaginary circle...
Philosophical possibilities of question of personal identity
Endrle, Jaroslav ; Palkoska, Jan (advisor) ; Hill, James (referee)
(in English): The topic of this thesis is the problem of personal identity. Its aim is to develop alternative approach to this question. To achieve this, the following course is choosen. Firstly, three most important assumptions are exposed. These assumptions steer debate about this topic in analytic philosophy and are regarded as main cause of its difficulties. These suppositions are - the ontological conception of identity, logical dissociability of mind and body and the method of thought experiment. Essential part of following thesis can be taken as proposal of technique that can overcome these assumptions and problems they cause. This attempt begins at the end of first part with development of general criticism of ontological conception of identity and with presentation of epistemic conception of identity. The second and crucial part deals with the theory of conceptual system. This theory provides a basis for alternative approach to question of personal identity. It will block the logical dissociability of criterions of personal identity - the dissociability of mind/consciousness and living body. It will also serve as fundament for epistemic conception of identity. Finaly, it is used for tracing the origin of concept "person". It will be shown that the concept of person descends from the...
An Enquiry Concerning the Phenomenon of Maidan Through the Application of the Hegelian Lordship and Bondage Theory
Dovhoruk, Ivanna ; Karfíková, Lenka (advisor) ; Matějčková, Tereza (referee)
This thesis is concerned with the question how can be the phenomenon of Maidan (Майдан) understood. Maidan here is primarly seen as an event in which people risked their lives. The first chapter deals with eyewitness testimonies of demonstrators in the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity (Революція Гідності), who were present in the directly life-threatening places (Hrushevsky-st, Institutska-st). In the second chapter Hegel's concept of the certification by death (die Bewährung durch den Tod) is inquired, as present in a lordship and bondage theory (Herrschaft und Knechtschaft) in the Phenomenology of Spirit (Phänomenologie des Geistes). In the third chapter, through the presentation of the author's own speculative theory of the Gates, we will try to prove that life can be deployed in two ways, from a position of humility and a position of pride. Within proving this statement we differentiate Hegelian concept of certification by death using Augustine's notion of pride (superbia). At the end of the inquiry we will try to answer the initial quastion, what Maidan is in light of the act of deployment of life.
