Dačicko jako české "Three Corners"? Analýza funkčních prostorových vztahů
SEDLÁKOVÁ, Marie
This bachelor's thesis deals with the evaluation of functional spatial relationships and the analysis of directional orientation. The municipality's administrative district, with its expanded scope of Dačice, located in the southeast corner of the South Bohemian region, has been chosen as an interest area. Functional relationships were mainly explored in three regional and three district towns. The first part of the work is aimed at defining and characterising concepts of spatial interaction, mobility, region and periphery. The analytic part of the work looks at the analysis of available time data, the number of public transport services and the commuting to schools and work to the chosen district and regional centers. The research of spatial relations in the territory of Municipal Administrative District with Extended Scope Dačice is also included in the analytic part. The suitability of the region's administrative affiliation to the South Bohemian region could subsequently be assessed from the data found.
The Art Scene in Ostrava in an Extended Context of the1980's and 1990's
Král, Jakub ; Pech, Milan (referee)
As a result of the postmodern decentralization of thinking, the monolithic historical development is undermined and together with it the peripheral streams of artistic development are accepted. In the mid-eighties in the Czech republic two parallel regional art scenes were emerged in Ostrava and Usti nad Labem, which are characterized by a different approach to traditional artistic strategies. It seems that traditional disciplines in these regions are failing, and the artists due to the impossibility of continuous connection with previous historical development and the lack of institutional support opts for the intesified position towards the bases of the art itself and its affirmation. Artists in the 1980s and 1990s in Ostrava turned against the classic institutional activity in the form of orientation on the public space and criticism of the bases of modern autonomous artwork. Mundanity at the End of the City
Dvořák, Jakub ; Nikitinová, Alice (referee) ; Artamonov, Vasil (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is part of a long-term built and developed cycle of paintings, in which I deal with the environment of the small-town periphery, or the small-town landscape in general. In the paintings I try to create an atmosphere on the aspects of mundaneness, everyday life and civility. I do not avoid a certain descriptiveness to express my message to the audience. In painting, I looked mainly at composition and color. My main goal is show to the viewers the image of a contemporary Czech small town.
Herzlich Willkommen
Dimitrov, Georgi ; Zein, Lynda (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma project is a polemic on the current state of the Czech border region and a speculation on its future development. A test case is the settlement of Hatě, which is part of Chvalovice, a municipality located close to the border with Austria. Hatě is a specific territory - an urban structure that was created in the 1990s right at the border crossing, in the former duty-free zone, and even after its disappearance it is developing into a large commercial and entertainment zone. It targets mainly visitors from Austria, coming to the Czech Republic in search of cheaper goods and services. Hatě is not the only such example - commercial and entertainment zones are regularly repeated at all major border crossings between the Czech Republic and Austria or Germany. The places are defined by bizarre aesthetics, "decadent" businesses and deregulation - as if almost anything is possible here. The project is based on personal experiences with the territory, an attempt to come to terms with a place defined by total non-architecture and asks what is the position of an architect in such a space. Hatě is the antithesis of the city, a "zone" for escaping the everyday, a place that contradicts the basic principles of urbanism. It is a place that offers a reflection on both society and the profession of architecture itself. The work deals not only with the "zone" in Hatě, but also with the municipality of Chvalovice, in whose cadastral territory Hatě is located. Through the mutual synergy of these two places, the project speculates on the possible future development of the area. The polemic is based on the acceleration of the development of the area, which is pushed to the extreme by the proposal. The subject of the proposal is a conceptual master plan or a spatial study that speculates on the possible masterplan of the area of Chvalovice together with the settlement of Hatě.
Brno lives on Veveří

The aim of this work is to find an urban solution of the existing periphery in the middle of the city. The problem is solved by a comprehensive composition of buildings and their mixed function. This system of European streets has been proven for centuries, so an effort was made to incorporate it into a modern city.
Space of Zakarpattia in the Czech literature
Krabsová, Veronika ; Peterka, Josef (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
This thesis deals with the phenomenon of Carpathian Ruthenia, or Zakarpattia, which is one of the most discussed issues in Czech literature. It expands the traditional view of the issue with a chronological survey of works by Czech authors who were inspired by Carpathian Ruthenia, and maps their writings created from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. It focuses on their interpretation, with particular reference to the topology. The first chapter presents the terminological problems associated with the territory of the Transcarpathian region and briefly summarizes its history. The next chapter submits an account of the exceptional nature of this area (its contrasts, periphery, regionalism, myths, exoticism, idylls and adventures), and attempts to characterize its uniqueness (backwardness, belief in superstitions, Jews, alcoholism, poachers, enchanting countryside and outlaws). Carpathian Ruthenia appears to be a place of secrecy, where hypothetical characters grow. The topology of the mountain is also an important element. The following chapter, the longest, presents most of the works by the Czech authors who were inspired by this region. The first of these authors came to Carpathian Ruthenia during the 1920s as government workers or tourists. Their works are arranged...
