KOČÁRNÍKOVÁ, Kristýna
This thesis is focused on the topic of sleep and rest of hospitalised patients in surgical wards. Every patient has his own needs according to Maslow´s pyramid. His priorites of needs change during hospitalisation. In surgical wards one of the main needs is the need of enough sleep and rest. Patient needs to rest on the hospital bed and get strong enough to recover after some effort or surgery, and in the hospital, there is a lot of factors which may change his needs. To satisfy these needs every nurse should be informed about this topic and should keep the principles for keeping the patient calm and relaxed. The nurse should also inform other patients and demand them to respect the rules of hospital principles. The meaning of reseach is to map the need of rest and sleep in overall and with illness during hospitalisation and map the role of the nurse during nursing care in satisfying the patients needs of rest and sleep. In theoretical part, the thesis focus on sleep and rest characteristic, describes nursing process as it is and nursing process focused on satisfying needs of sleep and rest. Thesis continues by shortly describing characteristics of surgical wards. In practical part, the thesis shows research from surgical wards from regional hospital. Practical part of thesis starts with setting up goals and research questions. Continues with characteristic of research methods, evaluating of research data and its results in discuss part. The results show what the rest and sleep rituals are for hospitalised patients, what the results of not satisfiyng the needs of rest and sleep are and what is the difference of the need of rest and sleep while being healthy or ill.

Rest time and its quality, together with feeding and movement, are the most important factors influencing the mental and physical health of horses. This diploma thesis deals with the influence of age on the time and quality of rest for horses newly housed in the conditions of an active stable. In the first part of this diploma thesis is a literature review focused on the ethology, welfare and individual types of horse stables. The topic of active horse stables was elaborated in more detail, because its functionality corresponds to the physiological needs of horses. The monitoring included 6 horses of Czech warmblood, which were divided into 3 age groups (young, middle age and old horses). The monitoring took place in an active stable in Mažice using a camera, that recorded ten consecutive days in the winter season. For the evaluation, 2 parts of the day (day and night) were distinguished. In this diploma thesis are monitored the resting activities of horses in the rest place of active stables, such as feeding, standing, napping while standing or lying and deep sleep. One-factor Anova and Anova for repeated measurements were used for statisti-cal evaluation. It was found that all observed groups of horses used the rest place in the same way, 1/3 of a day. However, each group had a different representation of resting activities. The group of young and middle-aged horses spent about half the time feeding in the rest place, compared to old ones. They significantly (p < 0,05) paid the most attention to napping while standing (40%), while they spent only 30% of the time feeding. The monitored activities were performed by all age groups, especially during the night. The only exception was the feeding of a group of middle age horses, who spent an average 121.7 min during the day with this activity compared to night (93.4 min). Active stable gives horses a choice of activities. As can be seen from the results of the observation, even old horses, accustomed to box housing, have adapted well to this type of housing and they like it.

6 Abstract Title: An analysis of a basketball player's movement during the game Objectives: The aim of this work is to demonstrate that observation groups in the basketball game use a different number of movements and should therefore train separately. Methods: The basis of this empirical study is a quantitative research that uses the method of analysis and comparison. To obtain the data, I have analysed the most frequent movements carried out by players in the game. We have collected the number of movements per each second for each group. Observed group are: point guard, shooting guard and centers. Movements were described theoretically, biomechanically, technically, or by using rules. After that I have used the comparison to determine the differences, which were implemented into charts and qualified in detail. Results: A graphical representation of the number of movements confirmed the goal of our work. The biggest differences were found in specific movements, such as screens, acceleration, dribbling and crossover dribble. It turned out that the primary movements, such as standing or walking occupy over 50% of the match for each group. Neither group achieved the same result in any category. It is therefore necessary to take into account these facts and plan training preparation in order to reflects the...
