Site is located in the valuable landscape of the Moravský kras nearby Císařská jeskyně, which is used in the healing process. The sloping plot is oriented to the southeast and offers optimal sun conditions. The designed building enters the existing terrain with respect and uses its natural slope. The sanatorium has three receding floors, their green roofs smoothly merge into the terrain. The building includes all required facilities - clinic, education, catering, speleology locker room, accommodation, administration, technical facilities, club rooms and games rooms. The construction system of the building is a combined brick and monolithic skeleton. The basic idea was playfulness and dynamism, simplicity of shapes, easy orientation in space and a terraced solution with ecological aspects of the design.

Bretterová, Anna ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor) ; Müller, Jan (advisor)
The content of the bachelor’s thesis is the design of a kindergarten in Brno, in the Masaryk’s district. The plot is a part of the school complex, where the Cyril and Methodius Church Elementary School and Cyril and Methodius High School already stand. The land here is sloping to the east. The design of the building with two above-ground and one underground floor corresponds to this. It is a new building of a preschool institution with two sections with capacity of 24 children per section without its own kitchen (food will be prepared in the kitchen for elementary school and high school and then transported to designed kindergarten). The building is situated in the eastern part of the plot and the western part is used as a garden for children. Barrier-free entrance to the building from Havlíčkova street is provided by a footbridge connected to the roof terrace at the level of the second floor. The building is bricked with Porotherm blocks. The construction of the ceilings is made of prestressed Spiroll hollow core slab. The roofs of the building are flat and partly walkable. Non-walkable parts of roofs are designed as green roofs. The facade of the building is horizontally divided into two parts. The lower part is lined with artificial stone and the upper part of the facade is made of white plaster. The windows in the children’s classrooms are round and different sizes. This element reflects children’s playfulness.

This is followed by a design and implementation of visual programming interface in Unity3d and later integration of this interface into a simple game supporting the foundings from the first part of the thesis. This thesis is then being evaluated from the technical and user perspective with the goal to analyze the effectiveness of both the visual programming interface and the game as a tool to introduce programming to non-coders.
The Building on Obilní trh
Hynšt, Lukáš ; Štěpánek, Martin (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The current appearance of the surroundings of the Obilní trh, a square with a park situated nearby the city centre of Brno, isn’t unproblematic. Above all, on Údolní Street, between the tram stop and the Office of the Public Defender of Rights, there is an inadequate car park and a torso of a terraced building in an unsatisfactory condition. All this is a flaw in the beauty already represented by the park on the Obilní trh and the forest park adjacent to the Špilberk Castle. This work places the building of the Office of the Defender of Children's Rights - an institution that is to be established in the Czech Republic soon to control the progress of authorities, as well as other institutions that may interfere with the child's social and legal status instead of parking lots and neglected buildings. The solution is designed to be modern, open, and sustainable. With its idea and concrete form, it suggests that it welcomes children and their parents with open arms, but it is also a pleasant place for employees who implement the institution's powers daily. In addition to the "office" itself, the building and its surroundings offer parking, spaces for commercial use and for temporary accommodation. Its visual side suitably illustrates the surroundings full of greenery and the bustle of social life.
Primary Architecture / Teaching architecture to the younger generation
Menšíková, Barbora ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
Due to the complexity of the whole current educational system, the proposal creates an alternative form of teaching aesthetic perception - art and architecture, a kind of intermediate stage, which joins the existing curricula of compulsory education of children as a supplement or extension. The proposal is therefore a space - an artistic institution, focusing on the education of the young generation from the ranks of the general public. The cooperation of the School of Architecture with educational institutions creates an environment where the student emerges from the academic community and educates the general public. On the contrary, the public enters the environment of the Faculty of Architecture and offers architects a new perspective.

Ponava Centre Brno, Královo Pole
Pieleszová, Katarzyna ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
The submission of this thesis was preceded by a specialised studio „Brněnské nábřeží a kulturní čtvrť Ponava“. This work focused on a complex urban architectural solution to the area around the former “Jaselská kasárna”, the urban context, transport services, the field configuration etc. The thesis follows this project in a section defined by streets U Červeného mlýna, Staňkova and Střední. The goal of the thesis lies in the creation of an intensive goal – a cultural area, which will offer a high-quality space for intergenerational communication and new social experiences and activities. It newly connects the urban part Ponava with the town center of Brno by a high-quality axis for pedestrian and cycling transport. The project of this cultural area arose after a thorough analysis of surrounding, intercity and global relations as a combination of aims: for children – the elementary art school with graphic and dancing fields, for seniors – leisure time center, and for all together - a multifunctional concert hall and a revitalized area of the former industrial zone of furniture production to a multipurpose intergenerational area with a modern art gallery, offices for young businessmen, architects and artists, and a music club in the basement of the gallery.
