Concert-Hall Brno
Špondrová, Hana ; Šrubař, Pavel (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
This study addresses the design of a new cultural center in the Moravian Square – a polyfunctional object with a great concert hall, a small multifunctional hall with operating and technical facilities, parking, customer services for visitors, and areas for employees and musicians. Also, a restaurant & cafe is a part of this proposed project. New space replaces the unsatisfactory conditions of the current residence of Brno Filharmony in Besední dům – too small, unsatisfactory acoustics, and complicated operation. The cultural center, also, serves as a congress center that is currently missing in Brno - a city of trade fairs and exhibitions. The proposition respects the existing character of the park. The capacity of the new proposed design is from three-quarters underground, and therefore makes a way (nebo „space“) for greenery and pedestrians. The designed object consists of one ground and two underground levels. It has a simple shape with a greenery roof, and is incorporated into the existing spaces of the square. The distinctive element of the design is an open outside atrium in the first underground level. The facase is covered with boards (nebo „panels“) made out of Corian® material in a white shade of Glacier White in contrast to glass windows. The supporting construction is designed from monolithic iron concrete.

Renewal of the former coaching inn in Tišnov
Velazquez Hernandezová, Natalie ; Muroň, Ivo (referee) ; Ležatka, Lukáš (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the renewal of the cultural monument of the former coaching inn vol. Peklo in Tisnov. The subject of the proposal was the preparation of documentation for the building permit and part of the documentation for the construction on the basis of an architectural study, which was prepared in the subject AG035 Monuments renewal studio. The aim was to design the renovation of the inn, its new functional use and design a family house for the owner. My main concept is to make the inn building as intact as possible and to adapt it to the current requirements for the new content of the cultural center in combination with the preservation of valuable structures and elements. The most significant intervention in the external appearance of the building there are the those two extensions on the west facade, which hide the hygienic facilities and staff facilities. The visible above-ground extension is separated from the building by a glass connecting neck so that it is still possible to perceive the original form. The second building of the sanitary facilities is connected by an elevator to the above-ground extension, but it is located under the newly modified terrain, so only a small tube with an entrance from the lower courtyard is visibly added to the building from the exterior. The building of the newly built family house is separated from the building of the inn and embraces the existing cellar, the construction of which will be secured and cleaned and will continue to serve its purpose. The cellar will not be visible from the outside, but its value will remain preserved in the interior as a hidden treasure. This is a plot of land in the historic center of the town of Tišnov, where it was necessary to solve the separation of the private and public zones, landscaping and connection of extensions to the existing building. The proposed concept works with the division of the land into two height levels, which are linked to the histo
Centre of Culture Brno
Pieleszová, Katarzyna ; Teplý, Vladimír (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The goal of this project is to design a new cultural centre building in the locality Brno-Starý Lískovec, Mikulášovo square. The building site is situated between two separate blocks of flats. The principle of this draft lies in a simple combination of compositional axes. The first axis is the square’s axis of symmetry, the second one represents the distinctive shapes of the built up area from the 60’s and the third one expresses a certain metaphorical axis of the landscape panorama. This connection of lines created material which, after consideration of space requirements of all the workflows and traffic, provided the final shape. The whole object is functionally divided into two parts – the cultural centre itself as the core, and the attached sub-parts. Among the supplemental facilities there are areas dedicated for a cafeteria, a bookshop with artistic theme and an exhibition space. The objective was to create a compact structure which would allow an unlimited movement across those facilities. An important part of the exterior is the façade. The building changes “moods” during the day, the colours and shades change with the sun going down. This idea includes a plan of exterior passage which can guide visitors to the main entrances. The outside areas are designed for relaxation and art.
The cultural centre in Brno
Ašenbrenner, Jan ; Ležatka,, Lukáš (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis further elaborates the newly elaborated architectural and constructional study to the Documentation for building permit and Documentation for construction work. The assignment of the work was "The Cultural Centre in Brno" located on the plot no 723 at the Údolní street opposite the Obilný trh. It concerns a gap site at the 19th century historical housebuilding resulting from the bombing of Brno during the World War II. It regards a sloping land rising to Špilberk Castle. The proposed new building of the cultural center fills the whole gap site between one existing detached house and a row of houses going towards the historical centre while respecting the street line, which was one of the aims of my work. Another aim was to create a relatively quiet and pleasant area near a busy street connecting the adjacent Obilný trh with Špilberk Castle and recently opened Otevřená zahrada, which is a public outdoor area built by a neighboring ecological center. An outdoor open-air atrium, surrounded by the new building, was created and it is ended with a staircase following the rising slope. The building has three above-ground floors, the first floor spreads further into the plot and carves into the slope where the level of the roof ties to the adjacent slope. The entrance to the atrium is formed by an open passage that seems to be pressed into the mass of the object and narrowing vertically in the direction from the street to the atrium. The aim was also the maintenance of the green in the area, all roofs were designed as intensive vegetative with the intention to achieve the contrast between this green vegetation and "rough" corten facade, which by its random perforation suggests a free abstraction of art taking place inside.
New town hall for the district Brno-North
Fila, Radek ; Mutina, Petr (referee) ; Jura, Pavel (advisor)
The main architectural motif of the contrast vertical and horizontal. Vertical - a tower that will house the town hall, the dominant element in the area, and therefore represents well the importance of the city hall within the district. This importance is enhanced by the location of the tower on the corner. Calm horizontal volume cultural center follows the street line and thus defines a new public spaces, including a new town hall square. The unifying element of the two buildings is a double facade of white aluminum fins.

Smékal, Jan ; Rosa, Martin (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The Monaco shore extention project consists of few housing resorts, floating breakwater, commertial zones and a harbour. The largest and most complex is the Skyscraper resort on an artificial semifloating island in the middle of a lagoon between the shore and the floating breakwater. Its main purpose is housing which is situated to several floors of the base ring, to the white wings protruding from the skyscraper and to the skyscraper itself. There is also a hotel for 500 visitors in this structure as well as the visitors center, observation platform, technical support, wellness and fit centrum. The resort is accesible via two main connecting streets – one going from the Hercule harbour, second comming to the resort from the main Monaco roundabout next to the Fairmont hotel. Traffic is than in front of the skyscraper redirected either to the hotel frontyard or to the underground parking wings for visitors, or to the parking zones for residents or to the supply zones. Other functions the resort offers are 2 commertial promenades on the gound and 2np floors accesible from the perimetr of the island’s harbour, other commertial zone is more to the the middle of the island, where the visitor, cultural, wellness and restaurant centers are also situated. The cultural multipurpose center accompanies cinema, theater and exhibition features as well as the School of fine arts. For the residents themselves the resort features several facilities – endless swimming pool, the chapel, relaxation pools, 2 parks and all the facilities accessible also for visitors. The island is constructed as semifloating – partly supperted by large piles and coissons, partly floating. Energetic selfsufficience is provided by desaltation plant, solar fotovoltaic plant, energetic piles and gray water treatment plant.
