Trade relations between EU and China
Karlík, Martin ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Trojanová, Kamila (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse development of mutual trade relations between European Union and China and try to predict its development. Trade relations went through significant changes in last several years. It might even be the beginning of a new trend. What hinders further development are trade barriers, several trade disputes even had to be repeatedly adjudicated by WTO. Despite these disputes the future trade relations seem rather positive. Both parties signed EU-China 2020 agenda for cooperation, which declares effort in pursuit of further cooperation. I am expecting that in future more opportunities will occur for exports from European Union. The growth of China's gross domestic product is expected to stay at 7% annually. Minimal wages are rising and so does domestic consumption. As income grows the consumption patterns shift toward more service based product and that means an opportunity for European exporters. China is also home of more than two millions dollar millionaires and since foreign luxurious brand are widely preferred in China this could be another potential source of European exports growth.
