The issue of employment of people with mental disabilities in the labour market

This bachelor's thesis delves into the intricacies surrounding the employment of persons with intellectual disabilities within the labuor market. The primary objective of this academic endeavor is to discern the factors influencing the integration of persons with intellectual disabilities into the workforce. To achieve this objective, a method of qualitative analysis through structured interviews was employed, facilitating an in-depth comprehension of the experiences and challenges faced by these persons in their pursuit of employment. The technique of open coding was applied for the analysis of the collected data. The research cohort consisted of randomly selected persons over the age of 18 from the Central Bohemian Region. This group comprised five communication partners with intellectual disabilities and one representative communication partner, acting on behalf of an organization devoted to addressing the issue of employing individuals with intellectual disabilities. Among this cohort, three women and three men were represented. Research findings underscored that persons with intellectual disabilities prioritize employment over their leisure time. Furthermore, it was ascertained that these persons possess a keen awareness of their strengths, which they can contribute to the labour market. The outcomes of this bachelor's thesis contribute significantly to a deeper understanding of the challenges associated with employing persons with intellectual disabilities. Simultaneously, they offer substantial evaluative value to individual institutions and organizations dedicated to addressing the matter of integrating persons with intellectual disabilities into the labour market. The acquired data also holds potential as a valuable resource for social workers engaged in addressing this specific issue.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the leisure activity of the physically and mentally disabled. It represents the sports club of Jindřich Hradec, which is devoted to children and adults with disabilities not only in the field of swimming. It theoretically describes the basic distribution of physical and mental disabilities, free time, leisure activities and the history of swimming in the world and in the Czech Republic. It deals with the influence of leisure activities on healthy and disabled individuals.
The experience of sexuality in adults with intellectual disability from personal assistants perspective

The presented work discusses the experience of personal assistants in relation to sexuality in adults with intellectual disability. The aim is to outline the area of sexuality in adults with intellectual disability and working with this focus group from personal assistants' perspective and the training of workers in the field of sexuality. Theoretical part of this bachelor thesis pays attention to intellectual disability, social service of personal assistance and clarifies matters connected with sexuality in adults with intellectual disability. The practical part includes interviews with four personal assistants in order to find out what experience they have with the topic of sexuality in adults with intellectual disability, how this experience reflects or reflected itself in their practise and how they evaluate preparedness for this area. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to point out the importance of sexuality in adults with intellectual disability and the substantiality of breaking the taboo of this topic because I believe that learning and speaking about this area leads to solving situations, which occur in connection to sexuality, in a less stressful and more confident manner and to a better output at work.
Sexuality and partnerships of people with intellectual disability: society´s perspective

This bachelor thesis is focusing on the society´s attitude to romantic relationships and sexuality of people with intellectual disability. The thesis is devided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the definition of terms like intellectual disability, romantic relationships and sexuality. Moreover it addresses specifics of romantic relationships and sexuality of people with intellectual disability, it warns of sexual abuse and it also tries to highlight the importance of sex education and providing information about romatic relationships and sexuality to people with intellectual disability. Finally, the theoretical part of the thesis shifts its attention to the rights of individuals with intellectual disability to lead a sexual life, then it describes the development of Czech society's attitudes towards romantic relationships and sexuality of individuals with intellectual disability and it also focuses on the prejudices and myths about sexuality and romantic relationships of persons with intellectual disability which are the most commonly circulating in society. The practical part leads to fulfill the aim of the bachelor thesis. The aim of the thesis is to explore the view of Czech society on romantic relationships and sexuality of people with intellectual disability, including the view on sexual abuse, sex education and providing information about sexuality and romantic relationships to people with intellectual disability. The practical part of the thesis uses quantitative research. A questionnaire was applied to collect data. Eight hundred thirty eight respondents took part in the survey. The bachelor's thesis can serve to increase the general awareness of the society on the topic of romantic relationships and sexuality of individuals with intellectual disabilities and also as a subject for reflection on our own attitudes towards this topic.
Development of reading in students with intellectual disability

The diploma thesis Development of reading in students with intellectual disability is a special pedagogical topic that extends to all areas of the life of a person with an intellectual disability. The theoretical part offers an insight into the issue of reading and reading interests among students with intellectual disabilities, the area of reading and reading interests, pre-reading is brought up, teaching reading methods, supporting reading and reading interests, basic information about a person with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities and education of persons with intellectual disabilities. The research part is prepared on the basis of qualitative research. The main method of qualitative research was semi-structured interviews, supplemented by unstructured participant observation. Motivation of Sportismen with Down Syndrome

The bachelor thesis focuses on the influence of motivation on individuals with Down syndrome in sports. It examines the athletic performances of individuals with Down syndrome in selected disciplines and compares the results of these performances between motivated athletes and athletes without motivational support. Furthermore, it addresses the sports opportunities provided to people with Down syndrome and provides an overview of the overall success of athletes with Down syndrome in selected sports at the international level. The thesis utilizes qualitative methods to determine how motivation affects individuals with Down syndrome who engage in sports. Athletes were tasked with completing specific disciplines that were repeated, with the only difference being the motivation provided by coaches. The research was conducted over a longer period of time to ensure that the individual's athletic condition did not interfere with the results of the observation. Work methods with pupils with intellectual disabilities in special elementary schools in Zlínský Region

This diploma thesis deals with work methods that are used in the education of pupils with intellectual disabilities. The aim of the thesis is to find out how teachers work with pupils with intellectual disabilities in special primary schools in the Zlín region. In the mentioned theoretical starting points, intellectual disability is first defined, the educational process and its specifics in the special primary school is mentioned, as well as the work methods that are used in the education of pupils in the special primary school. Information for the qualitative research was obtained using semi-structured interviews, conducted with twelve special education teachers. The obtained data were analyzed using a grounded theory design and open coding technique. The research revealed that special education teachers use a huge number of different teaching aids. They don't use textbooks much, and if they do, then those from Parta, Septima, Taktik and Nová škola publishing houses. In special primary schools in the Zlín region, they have a Snoezelen room, perform Basal Stimulation and some also provide individual speech therapy. How sibling constellations can be affected by health disadvantage

The diploma thesis on the topic "How sibling constellations can be affected by health disadvantage" deals with mapping the influence of living with a sibling with a disability and the effect of the family environment and relationships on intact siblings in the field of career choice and attitudes towards planning one's own parenthood. Furthermore, it also examines the possible influence of the gender of the intact sibling on the aforementioned areas. The aim of the research investigation was therefore to find out whether intact siblings in adulthood tend to work in helping professions, specifically whether living with a sibling with a disadvantage led them to choose a profession with persons with disabilities and also whether it influenced their attitude towards their own parenting. Qualitative research was used for the investigation, specifically the design elements of grounded theory. An in-depth, semi-structured interview with five respondents, adult siblings of persons with various types of health handicaps (autism spectrum disorders, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy) was used to obtain data. Challenging behaviour in pupils with intellectual disability and autism

The diploma thesis deals with challenging behaviour in pupils with intellectual disability and autism. The aim of the thesis is to map the current reality of education of these pupils through the statements of pedagogical staff from pre-schools and elementary schools established in accordance with section 16, paragraph 9 of the Education Act. The occurrence, frequency, intensity and specific manifestations of challenging behaviour are examined, as well as the underlying causes influencing challenging behaviour, prevention and preventative approaches, solutions to the occurrence and escalation. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive overview of the problem and challenging behaviour in our country and in the Anglo-Saxon world and it deals with approaches to challenging behaviour. It also focuses on autism, neurodiversity and intellectual disability. The research part defines the aim of the thesis, research questions and methodology.
