Aircraft Power Units
Koutník, Tomáš ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Šošovička, Róbert (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with review of today most used aircraft power units. Briefly explains their purpose, working principle and most important influences on their function. Voluminous passage informs about main parts of aircraft power units and their functions. At the end of this thesis the directions of aircraft power units development are presented.
Noise of Aircraft Jet Engines
Szelke, Ludvík ; Vacula, Jiří (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
In my bachelor's thesis I try to present the noise sources of aero-jet engines. First, I introduce the reader to a brief history of the development of jet engines and the principle of jet engine function. Then I continue with general knowledge about noise itself, what it is measured by and what effects it has on our lives. This is followed by an analysis of the sources of jet engine noise, both theoretical and using a computer model. At the end of my thesis, I mainly discuss the possibilities of noise reduction for the sources, and also possible future developments.
Design of small jet engine to 1kN thrust
Gongol, Jakub ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This work will be focused on issue of a jet engine. The thesis will be divided into search retrieval part and computational part. In the search retrieval part it will focus on different configurations of jet engines as well as areas of their use. The main part of the thesis will however focus on a calculations where a turbine, compressor and an exhaust nozzle will be designed in order to give a thrust of approximately 1kN. Next step will be determination of an engine charcteristic that will give us a preview on how the engine performance will look like in off-design modes.
Design of hydrogen jet engine to 1kN thrust
Mikulenka, Karel ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis includes a brief history of jet engines using hydrogen as fuel. Calculation of thermodynamics of small engine with thrust up to 1 kN which is in modern day used in practice drones or ballistic missiles will be conducted. Given initial parameters compressor selected is of radial type. Calculation of radial compressor and its verification in EES software. Issue of combustion chambers is presented and calculation of chamber balance is carried out. Computation of turbine and blading layout. Proposal of jet for expansion into atmosphere and engine thrust. Comparison of contemporary projects researching hydrogen propulsion in aerospace with their conventional counterparts and assessing their feasibility compared to other types of renewable fuels.

New trends in the development of jet engines
Chabada, Martin ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the historical development and the primary division of jet engines followed by their construction and thermodynamics. The second part mainly focuses on new trends in the development, the 3D printing and alternative fuels used in the aviation industry.
Low NOx emission combustion chamber of turbine engines
Šafránek, Martin ; Mašek, Jakub (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis examines Low NOx emission combustion chamber of turbine engines. It describes in particular the events taking place in the combustion chambers and the mechanisms of generating all monitored emissions. It also focuses on the description of the most important design parameters, their estimated development, assessment and use in civil aviation. Further, this thesis deals with the legislation of various organizations that create certification standards for regulating the amount of emissions emitted.
Methodology of temperature measurement behind jet engine
Koutný, Martin ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Matějů, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is focused on temperature measurement behind jet engine. The theoretical part introduces chosen ways of temperature measurement. The practical part is divided into design (and later assembly) of the measuring stand, methodology of measurement and the measurement itself. The main outcome are heat maps gained by measuring temperatures behind TJ – 42 jet engine.
Design of turbine engine inlet in NACA-duct configuration
Babinec, Viktor ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Doupník, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on design and aerodynamic analysis of subsonic turbine engine inlet in NACA duct configuration for unmanned aircraft. The first part of this paper is methodics for design considerations for NACA duct, which is based on theoretical analysis of this type of inlet. The acquired knowledge is used to design an inlet for the specified unmanned aircraft that is subject of CFD analysis. The impact of deflectors is considered in the evaluation and the solution is compared to the S-duct inlet. The proposed inlet with deflectors meets DC60 distortion criterion for all specified cases and the pressure losses requirements are met for lower velocities. Based on the results, the recommended application is for aircraft that flies in optimal design conditions for most of the mission.
Fuel control unit system of jet turbine engines
Mašková, Šárka ; Bencalík, Karol (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes fuel control unit systems of jet turbine engines, specifically historical development of these systems including current research, operating processes of different types of fuel control unit systems and important controling quantities. The last part of the thesis describes fuel control unit system produced by Jihostroj a.s. company for M601 engine.
