An attempt to evaluate the beatitudes of Jesus in terms of Christian ethics. Mt 5,3-12

This thesis deals with the interpretation of the text of the Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew. It is an attempt to evaluate the reference text in terms of Christian ethics. It poses the question of the presence of morally relevant content, ethical implications, in Jesus' Beatitudes. In an effort to understand the text it first discusses the proper handling of the Biblical text and hermeneutics as an effort to understand the text. With the standardized explanatory commentary the exegesis of the reference text Mt 5,3-12 is made. Based on the evaluation of the interpretations the thesis is determined. But the work does not finish with the exegesis of the text, but attempts to move towards the theological ethics. It identifies the Beatitudes as particularly emphasized attitudes. Christological interpretation of the Beatitudes as a portrait of Jesus is attached in the last chapter.

Quid iuris? (Descriptive Theory of Legal Interpretation and Argumentation)

The objective of the PhD-thesis is analytical and comparative description of the main theoretical and philosophical approaches to the issue of legal interpretation, focusing on practical application. Initially, attention is paid to explanation of the concept of legal interpretation itself, focusing also on the practical meaning of differentiation between each designatum of the concept of legal interpretation as well as the reflection thereof in the applicable law. Other parts of the thesis include an introduction to the general typology of the theories of legal interpretation followed by a more detailed analysis of the three basic contemporary theories (philosophies) of legal interpretation, namely analytical approach (both the so-called horse-shoe analysis and soft-shoe analysis), hermeneutic approach (attention is paid to the traditional as well as modern hermeneutics, both the phenomenological and methodological branch), and discursive approach (represented by the rhetorical-topical view of discourse as well as the procedural concept of discourse). Mircea Eliade - Narrator - Initiator. The Initiation Dimension of His Fantastic Prose

Our work is devoted to the Romanian philosopher and author of fantastic prose, Mircea Eliade. The unique feature of his fiction lies in the narrative building upon the initiating structure, and reflecting the mythological consciousness, which is perceived by the author as a means of escaping historical relativism. In order to analyse his work we applied the hermeneutic approach, which is in our view best suited for interpretation of Eliade's prose. The hermeneutic approach shows that the author-narrator assumes the function of a religious initiator, who is in possession of a vision of the world and conveys it to his readers. The initiated author can see a different world, a possible world that surpasses the material one, and he is able to bring this vision, inexpressible by words, to the reader. Thus, the process of reading and analysing such a text then turns into gradual initiation into the secrets of existence through its esoteric dimension. Eliade's aim in his fantastic prose is to show that even in the desecrated world the sacred is hidden anywhere and a man is still able to reveal it anytime. Resurrection of Jessus of Nazareth as a Question of Hermeneutics

The thesis deals with the message of the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, which is crucial for Christianity and its relevant hermeneutical approach. In the first chapter we analyze the contemporary hermeneutical context of the message within the Hellenistic and Hebrew cultures. In the second chapter we present an analysis of pre-Pauline faith confessions, Paul's texts and synoptic Gospels focused on targeted formulating of the message for respective communities and their cultural background. The last chapter wants to present some contemporary relevant hermeneutical approaches to this message. One of them could be the so called mythmaking, which emphasizes the necessity of permanent updating of accepted opinions, messages and realities. We can observe the mythmaking process already with the New Testament authors and each and also our generation is expected to bring the message about the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth to future generations in a relevant way. Enthusiasmos in thinking of ancient Greece. - This disertation thesis analyzes the issue of enthusiasm in the context of thinking of the Ancient and Classical Greece. In a theoretical manner also tries to gain an insight into the semantical structure of enthusiasm basing on historical excursus (the Ancient Age, the Classial Age) to support its historical transformation. It was enthusiasmos and the way o mantical explanation, which enabled the poets to create pieces of art and gave rise to performing and poetry art. This thesis aims to explore the philosophical reflection of enthusiasm, because the gift of divine presence itself, such as the inspired poetic speech, was in the Archaic period certainly guarantee of the truthfulness, but in the Classical period, was all the more reason for doubt and questions. Selected works by prominent authors of ancient mindset are systematically analyzed in the context of enthusiasm.

Recontextualisation and Actualisation of Selected Parables of Jesus for the Purpose of Catechism

Thesis deals with rekontextualization and actualisation of Jesus's parables. The methodological part describes the catechetical methods and possibilities of cooperation with selected sciences such as didactics, pedagogy, psychology and hermeneutics. Moreover there are discussed concepts such as allegory, exegesis, metaphor and metonymy. Particular text dealing with the parables of the New Testament contains a characteristic of parable as a literary form, its origin, significance and its construction order. Parables are selected particularly in the context of Matthew's gospel. The thesis functions on the basis of synchronic methodology as well as diachronic one.

Structuralism and Concept of Discourse in the Work of Paul Ricoeur

This diploma thesis focuses on structuralism and concept of discourse in the work of French philosopher Paul Ricoeur. The aim of the thesis is to show Ricoeur's effort to interconnect structuralism and hermeneutics and, after this, to treat how this interconnection works as a general paradigm of human sciences. The point of departure is Ricoeur's revision of Saussurean structural approach which divides language into language system (langue) and speaking (parole). Then, the concept of discourse is grounded and the thesis proceeds to problems of text. By using the concept of discourse for written forms of language (texts), Ricoeur introduces this term to his hermeneutical approach. Its interconnection with structuralism is made possible by circular dialectics of explanation and understanding in which structuralism is shown to be necessary for the hermeneutical knowledge. Ricoeur's hermeneutical thought is also characterised by movement from text to action. Ricoeur finds some parallels between them and between the interpretations of them. By this, he proceeds from hermeneutics of text to hermeneutics of action and presents his conclusions as a general paradigm of human sciences. These are said to have a hermeneutical nature. Self-knowledge in art expression

This qualitative thesis deals self-knowledge in art expression. The work examines how the creator understands to his or her art product, what happens in the dialogue over the product and this understanding impacts to self-knowledge and self-transformation. The work represents the principle of expression and expressiveness as a phenomenon and mandala as a specific instrument of art expression, which is set in professional framework through its origin and tradition of use in therapeutic practice. The work is dedicated to process in which the meaning is explored and constitutes three stages, the first one is expression, second one is reflection and the third is analysis. Theory of expression, dynamic art therapy and hermeneutic approach are presented as three basic theoretical approaches in this work. The work describes three case reports in a dynamic process and interprets them through formal and thematic analysis, respectively which strategies are used to find meaning in picture and what is the character of the main topics.
