IPv6 Communication Library
Pecháček, Václav ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
Thesis deals with IPv6-based network communication. The aim was to create a library enabling FITkit development board equipped with Ethernet extension module to act as an IPv6 node. Project includes application to demonstrate available functionality. The library is written in ANSI C.
FITkit - PC Crypted Communication
Kouřil, Miroslav ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Růžička, Richard (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of concealing confidential data being transmitted in between two systems. The coding standard AES as a block symmetric cipher has been selected. In practise, the connection between the FITkit platform and a PC was set via serial communication. The FITkit is programmed in language C and the PC in language C++ . There has been designed a simple protocol for setting up the connection and for the information exchange about encoding. Due to the difficulties with serial communication on the kit side there have been created two applications. The first application reads encoded kit data and translates them with the assistance of  preset values. The second one communicates with the kit emulator on the other computer and works at full range, what means - establishing the connection, generating keys modes  and number of encoding rounds, safe key exchange and the possibility of data reading and writing to the kit.
Exetnsion Module for LCD Monitor Connection
Mališ, Radim ; Kaštil, Jan (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and implement the extension module for LCD monitor connection. The work involves a wide range of tasks from the studies of neccessary theoretical issues through the design of software and hardware part of the application to the actual implementation and making the module functional.
FITKit Virtualization
Vavruša, Marek ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
Thesis presents a method of FITkit hardware platform virtualization. First part describes an extension of the libkitclient library to support virtual devices and discusses a protocol design for FITkit device sharing in the IP networks. The protocol is extended to offer an automatic device discovery in local network based on UDP multicast. The second part of the thesis presents an architecture for a remote compilation of FITkit platform binaries and the implementation in the fcmake and QDevKit. The last chapter summarizes implemented tools and presents possible future extensions.
Pseudorandom Number Generation in FPGA
Korček, Pavol ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sekanina, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyzes various implementations of pseudorandom number generators. In particular, two most-widely used mechanisms in generating the pseudorandom numbers in digital systems based on linear feedback shift register (LFSR) and cellular automata (CA) are described. Two models which are also widely used in practice were chosen from each group and implemented in C language. Additionally, another interesting combinatorial scheme of LFSR which is also sometimes used was implemented. Evaluation of the generators using Diehard set of statistical test was performed as well. Another part of this work dealt with implementing the chosen generators in a hardware description language. The choice was made for VHDL and several models, including the serial and parallel type of LFSR, were described in this language. Finally, a serial type of LFSR was implemented on the educational platform FITKit. The demands for area consumption of implemented generators were also investigated.
Java Byte-Code Interpreter for FITKit Platform
Husák, Jiří ; Petrlík, Jiří (referee) ; Fučík, Otto (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to design and implement the Java bytecode interpreter for FITkit platform. At first is analyzed issues of Java programming language, especially properties of portable Byte-Code and Java Virtual Machine. The study also describes the MSP430 microcontroller from Texas Instruments. The result of bachelor's thesis is the interpreter written in C for microprocessor and  application for PC that provides compilation and loading Byte-Code with serial port to the device FITkit. At the end of the work are presented some demonstration applications written in Java that use FITkit peripherals or FPGA to accelerate calculations.
Ethernet Interface for Teaching HW/SW Platform FITKit
Kolařík, René ; Tobola, Jiří (referee) ; Fučík, Otto (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with extending of the teaching platform FITKit with the ethernet interface and choosing appropriate concept for this purpose. Further deals with hardware and software implementation of the chosen module and some of the basic network protocols.
FITkit as Step Motor Controller
Čejka, Štěpán ; Mičulka, Lukáš (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This work deals with problems related to design and implementation of a stepper motor controller based on the MSP430F2617 microcontroller and the Spartan3 field-programmable gate array available on the FITkit platform. In the work, details related to types, principles, functions and stepper-motor control methods are described in detail. Proposed control units are designed to work in two different ways of control and operating modes of motor. Features of the control units have been tested with the SMR 300-100-RI/24 step motor by the means of a custom-designed pulse generator.
Embedded Transmitter and Receiver Firmware for Wireless Communication in SRD Band
Vomáčka, Martin ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis analyzes wireless communication in range of unlicensed ISM band. The aim was to design and implement a transmitter and reciever firmware for utilization in minor custom projects. Wireless communication was secured by Aurel modules operating in the 868 MHz SRD band. The transmitter and the receiver are controlled by MSP430 microcontroller mounted on the FITkit laboratory equipment.
QDevKit Project Designer
Šimek, Petr ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to introduce a reader with existed commercial applications and control the FITkit using QDevKit. The main goal of the thesis is proposed and implemeted modul for application QDevKit which makes easy proposal and progress applications for platform FITkit.
