This thesis deals with the analysis of patent information, focusing in particular on their use in the business environment. The first part deals with the problems of intellectual property and protection of industrial property rights. A substantial part of the work is devoted to the patent system and its importance for the development of innovative potential of companies and institutions. Another section contains information relating to the patent searching. The final chapters focus on areas of competitive intelligence and especially on the sources of patent information.
Competitive Intelligence in pharmaceutical industry

This diploma thesis describes and analyzes an area of competitive intelligence in the pharmaceutical industry. The work is divided into five parts. The first part deals with competitive intelligence and related aspects, the second part is dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry, with all specifics. The third part deals with competitive intelligence in the intersection with the pharmaceutical industry, the fourth part contains the classification and description of information resources appropriate for the activities of CI and a fifth part presents research, which consists of a questionnaire survey among pharmaceutical companies on the state of competitive intelligence and semi-structured interview with an expert in the area of CI in pharmaceutical company. The survey results represent a certain sub-probe, which demonstrates the strong position of CI as a common standard of pharmaceutical companies. Possibilities of implementing Competitive Intelligence in an agricultural company.

The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is the application of a Competitive Intelli-gence in an agricultural company, which will enable the company’s manage-ment to find out information about the competitors and at the same time protect our own information from them. This gives our company a competi-tive advantage. In the first part of this thesis I will describe the situation of the company, after which I get to define the problem that will be solved. In the second part I deal with theoretical preparation necessary to create a Com-petitive Intelligence unit. The third part is devoted to creation of the possibili-ties that our company will have. The result of these possibilities is functioning Competitive Intelligence system. In the end, I will summarize the possible solutions and recommend one of them to the company.

Implementation of a competitive intelligence process to a selected company

This diploma Thesis deals with the introducing of the Comptitive Intelligence process and creating a proposal for the implementation of this process to the selected company. The first part contains a description of the theoretical framework, followed by the review of the current situation in the company and the reasons why the Competitive Intelligence process should be implemented. The next part is focused on the proposal of the whole process. The conclusion of the thesis sumarizes the whole proposal and its benefits of this thesis for the company.

In the preface is a general view about the process, which is in following parts focused on particular discipline „disinformation“. In the first, an idea of disinformation is taken down with direction on its creation and using, also is there shown how to designed it to be effect and trusting. Compare to this in the second part are shown ways and precaution, which are used to the investigation, if its disinformation or not.

This diploma thesis deals with the process of introducing Competitive Intelligence into a selected agricultural company in order to help the company improve its market position and gain a competitive advantage. After evaluating the current situation of the company, there is a problem to be solved. After the theoretical part, the CI process is proposed to the company, including the phases that the company has to go through during the implementation. Then follows the use of selected methods for the analysis of the most important competitor. In conclusion, the whole proposal of the solution is summarized, including benefits for the company and possible shortcomings.

Proposal for the use of social networks to support the web portal

This thesis deals with the proposal of utilization of social networks to increase the competitiveness of the web portal focusing on gastronomy. It focuses on the proposal of marketing activities for the social network Facebook. The first part defines the basic concepts of social networks, their marketing possibilities and the concept of Competitive Intelligence. The second part contains the proposal of the web portal in terms of user, administrative, financial and social requirements. Based on the requirements, the appropriate technologies are compared and selected. The third part analyzes the activities of competitive web portals on the Facebook social network using appropriate tools. The fourth part introduces a proposal for marketing activities on the Facebook social network for the web portal.
Social networks as a tool for competitiveness

This thesis focuses on the issue of social networks and its potential use as a tool to boost competitiveness. At first, in the theoretical part, basic terms and definitions, which are strongly related to the issue of social networks, are explained. Then the thesis deals with the business sectors, where social networks can be used. Furthermore, the most used representatives of worldwide social networks are characterized along with their potential use in the business. The theoretical part is completed with the chapter that describes and evaluates analytical tools which are used for monitoring and analysis of social networks. Practical part focuses on the aesthetic centre Marttinéz and its competitors in the sector of hairdressing and beauty salons. Firstly, its actual attitude to the social networks is analyzed and further analysis regarding competing salons is carried out the second analysis should reveal competitors' behaviour in the area of social networks. The main output of the practical part is a set of recommendations regarding optimization of company's sites at social networks and also suggestion on a monitoring system of social networks sites of this aesthetic centre.
