Reflection of Football World Cup in Brazil 2014 in news service of Czech news agency

Bachelor thesis "Reflection of Football World Cup in Brazil 2014 in news service of Czech press agency" deals with media covering of extremely important sport occasion. The main goal is to find out how Czech news agency provided news for their clients who rely on its service, especially when there was no special correspondent for it in Brasil. One of the most significant sport events in 2014 was taken as an example for mapping the production of sport redaction especially from quantitative point of view. Thesis focuses on analysis of agency service, it deals with a period of one week before the start of championship and a week after its final. In theoretical part the thesis reminds of process and development of chosen sport event and offers a view of its most important occasions. Also presents a profile of ČTK as a news agency and its sport service. Thesis pursues what in case of that significant sport event with societal impact was redaction"s personal security and what was the souring without special correspondent in the area. Bachelor's thesis Karlovy Vary International Film Festival's reflection in the news of Czech news agency (ČTK) deals with traditional cultural occasion in Karlovy Vary an its reflection in the news of the biggest press agency in the Czech republic. This important cultural occasion in bath metropolis can compare with much bigger film parades in Europe - as famous film festival in Cannes or Berlin. Besides the films every year there are also many film star guests and other important people from film industry. Because of that Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is always very attractive for many fans and also journalists. Especially for journalists for journalists - how sometimes the agency redactors are called. Besides the content of the released news this thesis also deals with their formats and chosen metadata. Phone hacking scandal of News of the world and its display in the czech new agency

The thesis called Phone hacking scandal of News of the World journal and its display in the Czech news agency deals with foreign coverage of the Czech news agency concernig the News of the World phone-hacking scandal.The thesis mainly focuses on the second half of 2011, especially on June, when the scandal broke out. Firstly the thesis deals with history and present of British press, then with Rupert Murdoch's (the last owner of the journal and media mogul) operation in media, with formation, development and extincion of the News of the World journal. It also informs about the phone-hacking scandal's profile and about the news service of the Czech news agency - foreign coverage, reporting formats and so on. It focuses on changes of the amount of news during time, on used formats of coverage, on priorities, services, cathegories and also on sources which the agency used during preparing the news mainly in June 2011. Numbers of news are organized to tables which illustrate the development of amounts of the news published in relation to the scandal. Then the thesis more briefly focuses on remaining months of the second half of 2011 and on previous and subsequent periods. This thesis also finds out how the phone-hacking scandal influenced media regulation of Great Britain.
Media image of party KDU-ČSL, SPOZ, Suverenity and SZ after the elections to the PS PČR 2010

This thesis presents and analyzes the media image of political programs of parties Christian and Democratic Union - Czechoslovak People's Party, Green Party, Party of Civic Rights - Zemanovci and Sovereignty after parliamentary elections in 2010 in Czech public service media - Czech Press Agency, Czech Television and Czech Radio. In the theoretical part of the thesis are presented political party programs in the period 2010-2013, and also briefly introduced Czech public service media, their historical development or their current position in the media world. The practical part contains an analysis of textual and audiovisual content of individual media in the selected time period and focuses on the search for mentions of individual program points. Minor, but for understanding the role of public service media is an important part that compares the situation of position Czech public service media with those from another countries. The practical part then also examines the situation in the Czech world media after parliamentary elections in 2013 and if there are any consequences based on these results. A media picture of the Russian federation made by ČTK and its comparison with ČT reporter's news in the first half of 2012

Objective of this paper is to analyse the media picture of the Russian Federation as it was presented in the two Czech public media - Czech press agency and Czech television. The notion of media picture is brought into wider perspective of current media theory. The main subjects - the two media and Russia - are presented. Special emphasis is taken while challenging the significance of foreign news as a whole, and in particular, and also describing the specific features of the work of foreign correspondents in Moscow. Analytic part of the work deals with setting a proper research of media content involving Russia. The four stage quantitative content analysis tries to discover the volume of foreign news from Russia presented by the media chosen in the first half of 2012; topical, agentive, tone and source agenda of Czech television and Czech press agency concerning Russia; topical, agentive, tone and source agenda of both the two foreign correspondents seated in Moscow at the time; comparison of the diverse outcome of each medium.
Tendencies of development in internal news service of ČTK

The diploma thesis "Development of Home service in the CTK" focuses on the changing news production in the Czech News Agency (CTK), a dominant national news agency in the Czech republic, between 1993 and 2013. From the very beginning of 1990's the agency started to be a public service institution, but obliged to earn money on its own. Already in 1990's it stopped receiving state subsidies, having to severly cut its costs and reduce the number of employees. Despite this,CTK increased range of its services as well as number of clients and also fought succesfully its competitors. This thesis tries to answer the question how have these changes influenced the news service. It follows the changes in number of published news articles, structure of the articles and also focuses on application of chosen theme categories, sources, quatations and with the title. Quantitative content analysis has been chosen as a method of research, using two sampled weeks in 1993 and 2013. There were more than 770 news articles analysed, focusing on 12 areas of research. Theoretical ground for this thesis consisted of methodology of media research as well as sources on CTK's history and function, including its annual reports.
The Formation of South Sudan in an Agency Press Service of ČTK

Bachelor thesis "The Formation of South Sudan in an Agency Press Service of ČTK" deals with texts and photos that are related to the declaration of independence of South Sudan and issued by the Czech News Agency (ČTK) between 9 May and 9 September 2011 (i.e. two months before the announcement and two months after). The thesis describes the background of events that led to the collapse of Sudan, Africa's former largest country. It also deals with the general conditions for the formation of a new state in the current international situation. South Sudan is the youngest country in the world. Its independence is a result of a long- standing conflicts and the formation itself was a unique event - many areas around the world are trying to gain international recognition, but few succeed. The aim of this thesis is to find out how ČTK captured the formation of South Sudan. The thesis contains a comparison of all texts based on metadata, resources and type of posts. It is followed by an analysis of main topics of the texts. The thesis also examines whether the news provided by ČTK was unbiased. Next part of the thesis analyzes photographic materials covering the formation of South Sudan. There is also a part examining how ČTK deals with transcription of Arabic names and titles.
Comparation of press agencies and foreign reporters news contribution

Diploma thesis "Comparation of press agencies and foreign correspondents news contribution" observe, analyze and compare foreing news in main television news sessions on channels Česká televize and FTV Prima. The target is to learn, if foreign television correspondents can distinctly contribute to the news progamme. Working hypothesis comes from theoretical scholar literature and practical experiences of author. The research establish approximate percentage of original correspondet reports and news agency reports edited in Prague in the selected media sample. With quantitative reserach approach the work evaluate parameters of each foreign news report. The goal is to make the analysis the most reliable as possible. It focuses questions as if correspondent brings exclusive topics and topics with relation to Czech republic, if correspondents are pushed to produce feature reports instead of actual reports, if live coverage is really the most up-to-date and authentic form of reporting, if world news agencies are really indispensable source of international news and audiovisual materials and if news agencies offer more complex service than televison correspondents.
When the source is wrong - corrections in the czech news agency's service and on the pages of the lidové noviny newspaper

Every news medium makes mistakes. No matter if the origin of the mistake is the information source or the journalist, a trustworthy medium always notifies of the mistake and corrects it. This thesis deals with these corrections on the example of the Czech News Agency to represent the news agencies. The theoretical grounds for the thesis are: to define the demands of news coverage, to present the specifics of the news coverage by news agencies, to offer relatively complex analysis of the work with the sources of journalistic information. The application section of the thesis analyses the corrections as published in the Czech News Agency's service during the first three months of the 2011 calendar year. These corrections are categorized by several keys: by the nature of the corrected mistake, by the affiliation of the corrected mistake to the specific agency service and by the priority of the corrected mistake. The results of the analysis serve a practical purpose to journalists because they show them which type of corrections is the most common for a specific kind of the news coverage. Multimedialization of news agency production focused on infographical service

In the era of digitalization and internet, news agencies are attempting to use all available instruments in the best possible quality to provide information effectively while stressing out accuracy, clarity and understandability. Especially for this reasons, multimedia service forms an integral part of news agency production. Using the advantages of various tables, graphs, diagrams or multidimensional animation, readers can be easily informed about current events and affairs and they are able to watch those events that are unlikely to be captured on a video. This work deals with the process of multimedialization of news agency production with examples of infographical service. In theoretical part, it ruminates over following aspects - the term of multimedialization, activity and functioning of news agencies and production of effective information graphics. In its practical part, it describes the production of infographics in the Czech News Agency, both in present and in history. The quantification of infographical production in years from 1992 to 2011 and its interpretation is also offered in this work.
