Changes in the marital status in the age group from 15 to 59 years in the Czech Republic after 1930
Boušová, Marie ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Changes in the marital status in the age group from 15 to 59 years in the Czech Republic after 1930 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyze the changes in population structure according to the individual marital statuses. For this analysis sex-specific and age-specific nuptuality rates and multistate life tables were use, in order to be able to describe transitions between the individual marital statuses. In the first part of this thesis the data sources and the methods of creating the transversal increment- decrement life tables were described. Following chapters deal with the historical development of the Czech Republic population since the year 1930 and the trends of nuptuality, divorce and mortality. Second part is dedicated to the analysis of the transitions between the individual marital statuses. The findings of this thesis conclude that people in the individual marital states tend to react similarly to the historical events in Czech Republic, unless some events are purposefully aiming to influence only a part of the population. Key words: nuptuality rate, divorce rate, mortality rate, marital status, multistate demography, transversal increment-decrement life tables, Czech Republic
The Euroregion Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří and the Euroregion Elbe/Labe at the beginning of the 21st century
Trpálková, Veronika ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
The Euroregion Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří and the Euroregion Elbe/Labe at the beginning of the 21st century Abstract The objective of this study is to evaluate the contemporary status of the population, which live in two analyzed Euroregions - Euroregion Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří and Euroregion Elbe/Labe. The demographic trends are compared in the individual districts of the Euroregions, between Czech districts and German districts in one Euroregion and the compare of two Euroregions as a whole. For comparation of development indicators of mortality, fertility and migration are used. In the first part, the creation and the geographic description of both Euroregions are briefly explained. Basic principles of Czech-German border cooperation follows. In the next part, the calculations of demographic indicators are made. Differences of the population structure between two neighboring Euroregions are evaluated in the conclusion part.
Mortality for Certain infectious and parasitic diseases in the Czech Republic
Nguyen, Thuy An ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (advisor) ; Fialová, Ludmila (referee)
This work deals with a group of diseases and causes of deaths called Certain Infectious and parasitic diseases, defined by International Classification of Diseases. These diseases are not the most common causes of death in the Czech Republic. It would seem infectious diseases are now under control. However, in recent years the number of deaths has grown and there are new threats that should not be underestimated. Therefore the work includes a chapter on current topics (antibiotic resistance, bioterrorism, emerging diseases). Part of this work also deals with the theoretical aspects of the emergence and spread of diseases, vaccination as an effective weapon against infection. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to describe the basic trend of mortality in the years 1994-2011 in the Czech Republic, where the number of deaths from Certain infectious and parasitic diseases has increased. The work showed mortality increased mainly in older age groups. It was also found that the bacterial diseases (especially other Septicaemia) are behind this increase. At the end effect of the revision of International Classification of Diseases and changes in coding practice on mortality for infectious diseases were discussed.

Horník, Vojtěch ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (advisor) ; Burcin, Boris (referee)
Comparison of mortality trends in Central Europe and Baltic countries from 1970 to the present Abstract The aim of this thesis is to assess the most important mortality trends development in countries of Central Europe and Baltic region between 1970 and 2009. The measures used involve life expectancy at birth and life expectancy at the age of 65; besides of this, the age-specific contributions to life expectancy changes are computed according to the method of R. Pressat. The convergence and divergence tendencies among the analyzed countries and between the two regions are evaluated in this thesis as well. Main findings are, on one hand, that mortality trends are relatively similar within each of the regions. When comparing regions between each other, however, significant differences, mostly in the period between mid-1980s and mid-1990s, arise, they are attributed mostly to the influence of mortality crisis in Baltic region after the Soviet Union dissolution. Even though after 1994 mortality development was favourable in Baltic countries, they did not reach mortality level of Central Europe until 2009. Komrsková, Lucie ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (referee)
The Development of the intensity of alcohol-related mortality in regions of the Czech Republic in 1994-2009 Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the development of the intensity of alcohol-related mortality in regions of the Czech Republic in 1994-2009. Three categories of causes of death related to alcohol are selected according to the classification chosen. The author analyses the intensity of mortality from all causes alcohol-related mortality, from cause of death of alcoholic liver disease and from external causes of death related to alcohol. She concludes that the level of mortality from all causes alcohol-related mortality and external causes of death related to alcohol improves whereas the level of mortality from cause of death of alcohol liver disease worsens. From the results of the analysis it follows that the areas with the highest intensity of mortality related to alcohol are eastern Moravia and north-western Bohemia. Key words: mortality, diseases alcohol-related, causes of death, standardized mortality rates, the Czech Republic, regions
Mortality projections by cause
Štádlerová, Kateřina ; Kořistka, Jan (advisor) ; Cipra, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis focuses on the mortality projections by causes of death. The thesis includes also the application of such knowledge on the data of the Czech population. The mortality projections are used nowadays more and more often due to the population ageing. The results of this thesis may be interesting both for financial institutions such as insurance companies and for the purposes of certain areas of government policy with regards to the pension planning. So far not many articles have been published in the Czech language, nor are there any published results of similar projections using the data derived from the Czech environment. Tolar, Martin ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (referee)
Seniors mortality from external causes of death in the Czech Republic in 1994-2012 Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the external causes of mortality of seniors in the Czech Republic between 1994-2012. For research purposes, seniors are divided into two age categories (60-74 and over 75), observed in the Czech administrative regions. The study concentrates on three groups, derived from the chapter of External causes of International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems: Traffic accidents, Falls and Intentional self-harm. Concerning the main analytical approach, the author has opted for the method of direct standardization. The results of the study confirm the decreasing mortality of all selected categories in Czech regions and the country itself, but proves that considerab differences between the genders remaine. Keywords: mortality, external causes, seniors, population over the age of 60, Czech Republic
Long term development of life expectancy in the world
Jílková, Martina ; Novotný, Josef (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Lucie (referee)
Life expectancy has been rising since the end of the 18th century. This thesis aims to characterize its long term development with emphasis on the period after 1800, whereas the beginning periods of sustained growth and its dynamics are represented. Gains in survival began successively in individual countries, and it was found that the later the growth began, the more rapid it was. The determinants of mortality decline are set and described, as well. The attention is paid also to the relation between life expectancy and economic level. The analysis proved strong dependence of life expectancy on income in the course of the 20th century. Finally, the exceptions to this trend are discussed.
