Creation and Application of the grip test in patients after stroke
Filipová, Kateřina ; Svěcená, Kateřina (advisor) ; Svobodová, Tereza (referee)
The main aim of this bachelor's work was to create a grip test wich could be afterwards applied on patients after a stroke. An easy and time undemanding test was created whose evaluating standart is the number of achieved points. This test is used to find out the patient's functional condition in a grip area. It tests five kinds of grips. There evaluated stages of reaching, gripping, holding and releasing in each grip. The bachelor's work is divided into two parts: practical and theoretical. The theoretical part describes not only the impact of a stroke but olso the impact on the upper limb, hand and its functions and grips. It also describes testing and assessment. The practical part describes the time necessary to do the project, its realisation and application of the grip test on patients after stroke. This part also shows the results of testing. Key words: Stroke Assessment of hand grip Upper limb Grip test Grip
Using the Frenchay Arm Test in monitoring the effect of botulinum toxin in spastic patients after brain damage
Medková, Lia ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Čábelková, Alžběta (referee)
bachelor's thesis: Bachelor's thesis deals with the use of Frenchay Arm Test to study the effect of botulinum toxin to patients with spasticity after brain damage. A question is raised, whether Frenchay Arm Test, is test of self-sufficiency and hand function, is useful for monitoring the effects of botulinum toxin in these patients. The theoretical part explains the physiology of human movement and the consequences of brain damage to motoric. It deals with the increased stretch muscle, i.e. spasticity of patients after brain damage. Furthermore, it introduces the theory of application of botulinum toxin, which in small amounts affects spasticity and helps promote self-sufficiency of a patient. Frenchay Arm Test is presented as appropriate diagnostic method and benefits of applying this method by Occupational therapist are described. In the practical part, the Frenchay Arm Test is applied to two patients prior to application of botulinum toxin, month after and three months after application. The results are evaluated based on modified Frenchay scale and complemented by labels marking individual acts. The emphasis lies on the overall rehabilitation of the patient, which is considered a key to the successful treatment. Use of the Modified Frenchay scale in stroke patients with spastic paresis
Heřmánková, Kristýna ; Krulová, Anna (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to describe the Modified Frenchay scale and its use in stroke patients with spastic paresis. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the issue of spastic paresis in stroke patients is specified; and in addition to this the methods of examination and assessment of spasticity are presented and described in detail. A large part of the thesis deals with the history of Frenchay arm test and its modification - Modified Frenchay scale. The theoretical part also contains a description of the phases and types of grasp, some of which can be observed during the assessment with Modified Frenchay scale. The practical part consists of a questionnaire mapping the situation in the institutions in the Czech republic, that use the Modified Frenchay scale in their practice, and of two case reports of patients after stroke. Examinations and evaluations of spasticity, including Modified Frenchay scale, which are described in the theoretical part, are applied in these case reports. The practical part also contains an evaluation of inter-rater reliability of the Modified Frenchay scale. The main contribution of this thesis consists in creating a handbook for Modified Frenchay scale and in evaluating the inter-rater reliability. The handbook...
Stereognosis assessment in the hands area of physiotherapy students.
Dlasková, Lucie ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Stereognosis assessment in the hands area of physiotherapy students. Objectives of work: The main objective of this dissertation is an evaluation of stereognosis functions of hands and also the influence from the practise of palpation skills on the stereognosis at a group of thirty physiotherapy students from the first-year bachelor's degree during two measurements at an interval of six months. Next aim is to compare results of these measurements and to evaluate potential changes. Methods: This dissertation work was made by form of clinical study. The evaluation criterion was time and perfection in performed tests. For the assessment of hand stereognosis at the research group were used 4 simple tests without using sight: test by Petrie - sort the balls by size, to recognise a foam made letters and to determine the roughness of sandpaper. Results: The results show that during the study of physiotherapy at students there has been a slight development in the stereognosis functions. The influence of somatosensory learning during the six months period helped to reduce the number of errors which have been made by probands while taking the assigned tests. Results indicate that regular and careful practise of palpation ability has a particular influence for development and improvement of...
Construction of forearm myoelectric prosthetic
Kuštán, Jan ; Půlpán, Rudolf (advisor) ; Čichoň, Rostislav (referee)
Author: Jan Kuštán Title: Construction of forearm myoelectric prosthetic Objectives: The main goal is to describe the design and construction of appropriate myoelectric prosthesis after amputation of the forearm with subsequent rehabilitation care and occupational therapists. Methods: The theoretical part is a literature review. In the practical part I gained knowledge by studying literature consulted with prosthetics in Pilsen and Czech Budejovice. The skills I used when designing myoelectric forearm prosthesis with subsequent rehabilitation care and occupational therapists. Keywords: amputation of the forearm, myoelectric prosthesis, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, grip.
Development of physiological posture and motion in a pre-school period - function of hand
Stachelová, Dagmar ; Zounková, Irena (advisor) ; Jelínková, Barbora (referee)
This study is focused on problems of developing handskills of children at pre-school age. Reaching, voluntary grasp, carry, voluntary release, bilateral hand use and tool-skills are described here, according to their age clasification. I refer to interrelationships between handskills and musculosceletary, visual, motoric, somatosensoric, perceptional, and cognitive system. I also mention method of examination of grasp and its therapy via special physiotherapeutic concepts and methods. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
