Delivery of protein or peptide into the skin using cubosomes and microneedles
Pekáčová, Simona ; Pávek, Petr (advisor) ; Holas, Ondřej (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology Student: Simona Pekáčová Supervisor: Prof. PharmDr. Petr Pávek, Ph. D. Title of diploma thesis: Delivery of protein or peptide into the skin using cubosomes and microneedles Transdermal transport of high-molecular-weight and hydrophilic substances is complicated by the protective skin layer, the stratum corneum. Physical breaching of this layer using microneedles combined with penetration- enhancing properties of cubosomes was previously reported as an effective approach to transdermal drug delivery and therefore employed in this project. (Rattanapak et al. 2012) Delivering abilities of solid (600 µm), coated (500, 600, 750 µm) and hollow (450, 600 µm) MNs were compared with intradermal injection by hypodermic needle. Cubosomes were prepared from phytantriol, poloxamer 407 and propylene glycol using liquid precursor method and loaded with fluorescent ovalbumin (FL-OVA) or SIINFEKL-TAMRA (ST) peptide. Several formulations for coating of solid microneedles were prepared using various solvents and excipients to investigate quality of coatings and their ability to deliver the drug into skin. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) turned out to be the most efficient coating excipient providing equally spread...

Effect of recombinant toxin Cry3Aa on development of \kur{Spodoptera littoralis}
HUSÁKOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis compares the effect of recombinant and natural Bacillus thuringiensis Cry3Aa toxin upon the development of non-target insect Spodoptera littoralis (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae). Caterpillars of Spodoptera littoralis were fed with Premix artificial diet containing both toxins in 8 ppm concentration. Following characteristics were monitored: weight of larval increments, pupal weight, duration of the 5th, the 6th, prepupal and pupal instar, number of laid eggs and number of hatched larvae. The efficiency of conversion of ingested food (ECI) was calculated and growth curves were constructed. No significant effect of both toxins was recorded.

DRG system
Vraná, Lenka ; Marek, Luboš (advisor) ; Mašek, Petr (referee)
This thesis is focused on description of the DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) classification system and its application as the inpatient care financing tool. The objectives of this thesis are to sum up the possible applications of DRG system, to describe the calculation of indicators needed for health care payment in 2012 and to suggest some improvements to the algorithm to enhance the quality of data processing in the years ahead. The first part of this thesis is theoretical and it includes especially the history of the DRG classification system and an explanation of the basic concepts and the calculation methods. In the second part there is the description of the data file, which was used for the calculation of the inpatient care payments for 2012, its processing (specifically the determination of the relative weights of DRG) and the possibility to automate the whole solution.

Michálková, Jana ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee) ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor)
Title of master thesis Muscular strength and body composition in sport climbers Work objectives The main objective of this study is to compare the muscular strength and body composition in recreational and elite climbers. Methods Testing of 77 climbers who were devided into 3 groups was carried out on the climbing wall. There was rated muscular strenght by the motor tests and body composition by the bioimpedance. And their relation to the climbers performance. Results were evaluated by multivarite analysis of variance (MANOVA) Results Results of our diploma study demonstrated that climbers with higher of RP (8 and more UIAA) have lower weight (men 69,5±9,8 kg and women 57,7±4,0 kg) and body fat (men 10,2±2,3 % a women 17,4±0,8 %), higher static muscular strenght of the forearm and muscular endurance of upper limbs. The best results were reached at the tests with the bent arm hang (men climbers 68,1±22,6 s and women climbers 58,9±3,3 s) and hang on plinth (men climbers 61,7±19,2 s and women climbers 45,6±12,5 s). Climbers with climbing efficient 6-7 UIAA weighted averagely men 70,72±8,24 kg and women 64,77±5,02 kg. Percentage of body fat was 10,22±2,6 % for men and 21,13±3,1% for women. In the tests of bent arm hang and hang on plinth men hold for 48,44±12,4 s, 37,45±14,1 s and women hold for...
