The thesis Czech Television and Youth Audience focuses on whether Czech Television as a public service broadcaster in the Czech Republic produces enough programmes targeted at teen audience. The aim of the study is to consider if a television as a platform for watching audio-visual content is still appealing for pubescents or whether they rather choose the Internet. Furthermore, I describe the ways by which other European public service broadcasters attract young audience and make a suggestion to improve the situation.

Czech television and it's content for Generation Y

This thesis focuses on the changes the television industry has undergone in recent years. The aim of the thesis is to define a specific audience group and its preferences: the current generation of young people aged between 15 and 35 who belong to the sociological group called "Generation Y". The thesis contributes to knowledge by examining how the public Czech Television (CT) understands and addresses the needs of this specific audience group.
Entertainment programmes in Czech television with an emphasis on public television.

Entertainment has been one of the major genres throughout the history of television, which has served an entertainment function from its very beginning. With the arrival of the dual broadcasting system, the genre became controversial in the context of public service to citizens. The thesis discusses the evolution of entertainment programmes in Czech television, placing an emphasis on Česká televize (Czech Television), the public TV. The thesis provides a comprehensive picture of the genre, putting it in the context of the historical development of Česká televize and, later, the arrival of commercial broadcasters in the Czech Republic. It discusses the development of TV entertainment formats in terms of programming, as well as the possibilities and types of programme production. Yet the most important part is the comparison of private broadcasters' and the public institution's approach to the entertainment genre, which, by definition, tends to be rather commercial in its concept.
The Downfall of Czech TV series

The thesis deals with the qualitative decline of the Czech serial production after the revolution, namely changes in the author-producer relationships, the impact of the introduction of the commercial broadcasters into the market and an internal development of the Public television. The thesis will also look at the changes in developement and production of tv series in the Czech republic. The thesis will be looking for the roots and consequences of this qualitative decline and will compare it with the socialist era as well as the profesional developement of the foreign tv series. Through the analysis of production processes, the text seeks to identify fundamental principles affecting the quality of television production and outline possible systemic changes to strengthen the potential for future domestic as well as foreign succsess of Czech tv production.
Audience preferences of the target group 65+ in the years 2011-2014 on the ČT1 and ČT2 channel

The content of this work is to define the relationship between viewer and TV broadcaster, to clarify the issue viewer's groups, with emphasis on the target group 65+. It is also trying to disprove the stereotypes that this target group is represented, as well as to map the preferences of the audience at the first and second channel of Czech Television and genre to classify the most successful programs in terms of the senior audience.
Production of music programs in Czech television with focus on the ČT art channel

The aim of this thesis is to describe the process of development and production of music programs and the position of music within the Czech television broadcast system; the analysis of the viewership development of the newly created ČT art channel and the representation of music programs and their respective genres on this channel. The theoretical part of the thesis defines related terms and clarifies the role of the individual segments in the proces of development and production of the programs. The practical part compares different ways of the production's proces on four specific cases, determines the development of the viewership for each year and charts in detail the musical oriented broadcast windows.
Czech Television after 2012

At the end of 2011, there was Petr Dvořák named as the new CEO of Czech public television. His goal was - among other things - to change the development and production in the ČT and reintroduce a system of creative groups, as they were years ago. Majority of graduated students from production department sooner or later come across public television production in the Czech Television. The aim of this work is to explore the main and most visible changes, that Petr Dvořák with his management introduced, and to familiarize the reader with the new ways of development and production of programs in ČT.
Analysis and Comparison of selected Developmental Parameters of Czech and Slovak Television

The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to analyze and subsequently compare and evaluate the progress of selected developmental indicators of the Czech and Slovak television. In the theoretical section is initially approached the evolution of the public television market in the middle and eastern Europe. After that, the thesis is focused on the Czech and Slovak television. At first, we get acquainted with its history and development, then we take a closer look at the analysis of selected parameters of both institutions, which are divided into three regions. In the final chapter, the analyzed parameters are compared, evaluated and explained.
