Monitoring the Public Awareness of CAN Syndrome Issue
HANZÁLKOVÁ, Simona
My Bachelor Thesis consists of two parts ? a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part I have briefly described the significant information related to the CAN syndrome. When compiling the theoretical part I have worked with written sources and web sites references. In the empirical part I have investigated in a questionnaire research the people?s awareness of CAN syndrome in the Town of Kolín. The questionnaire contained 16 questions, of which 8 were closed, 4 were open and 4 were semi-open. The research was carried out in January 2010. I had handed out 135 questionnaires and within two weeks received 120 of them back. The questionnaires return was therefore 88,8 %. I have illustrated the results of the research in charts. I have evaluated all the questionnaires in two ways ? from the point of the respondent?s age and from the point of their level of education. There are following two assumptions in my thesis: Assumption 1 ? The public awareness of the CAN syndrome is tied with age. Assumption 2 ? The public awareness of the CAN syndrome is tied with education. I believe the public awareness of the CAN syndrome is tolerable. My thesis may in future be used for the purpose of improving the public awareness, for instance in decisions which groups of the public should the CAN syndrome promotion be aimed at and which communication media should be used. The research has brought out that the best medium for enhancing the public awareness of CAN syndrome is the worldwide web, television and lectures for pupils and students at schools. Therefore I would concentrate in future on production of web sites offering reliable information related to the CAN syndrome, TV shows and discussions with Professional as well as attractive lectures for children and young people at schools.

Isolation and identification of orchid mycorrhizal fungi and \kur{in vitro} symbiotic/asymbiotic germination of terrestrial orchid seeds
BENEŠ, Michal
This thesis is a review on isolation, cultivation and identification of orchid mycorrhizal fungi and symbiotic and asymbiotic germination of terrestrial orchid seeds. Mycorrhizal fungi can be used in in vitro symbiotic germination. In vitro symbiotic and asymbiotic germination of terrestrial orchid seeds is often difficult because of seed dormancy, which must be broken by certain treatment. Suitable treatment and composition of cultivation medium are important for enhancing seed germination.

Rhetoric of users selected asynchronic discussions on the Internet.
Klika, Jan ; Kraus, Jiří (advisor) ; Švelch, Jaroslav (referee)
Master thesis called "Users rhetoric of selected asynchronous discussions on the Internet" studies culture of language and rhetorical cultivation in the selected discussion pieces from the three news servers, namely Aktuálně.cz., iDnes.cz and Neviditelný pes. Under many of these virtual newspaper articles there are discussions that are meant to develop read ideas and opinions. This discussion space is accessible for practically everyone who has an access to the Internet, which is one of the characteristics and advantages of network media over traditional ones. However limitations of traditional media anticipated the use of appropriate and cultivated language. Network media have different characteristics and asynchronous discussion make other demands on language in them. Natural language is the basic communication medium, which is the primary content of most mass media. In the practical part there is an examination of users speech behavior in these discussions. The rhetorical analysis is used there, which allows a holistic view of speech including its argumentative construction. The aim is to find out what this type of online dialogues is characteristic from the point of view of rhetoric.

Jan Svoboda: the dialoge of the photographer with a space object
Chlustiková, Katarína ; Klimešová, Marie (advisor) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (referee)
(EN) The thesis was created as an analysis of the applied photography of Jan Svoboda (1934-1990). The czech art photographer whose work concludes, next to his own fine-art photographs, amount of documentary pictures of his contemporary art colleagues. Based on an inside view of his fine-art works consisting mostly of still-lifes it became possible to re-analyze large quantity of found material of his so called art reproduction photography which follows the very same principles of his own artwork. The analysis focuses only on documentation of three dimensional pieces of work. Resulting conclusion shows Jan Svoboda as an actual creative competitor of the documented artist's work. By his act of opening a dialog with the documented art piece which leads to a photograph that might have been often considered as an abuse of the particular art piece for the sake of formal qualities of Svoboda's work. The last part of the thesis aims to briefly reveal worldwide context of photographers documenting art pieces with emphasis on the medium of photography and therefore often surpassing demand for faithful depiction of the art object.

Topical issues of corporate governance in Czech and Community regulation
Kolář, Petr ; Čech, Petr (advisor) ; Černá, Stanislava (referee)
Current Corporate Governance Issues in the Czech and EU Law In 2003 The European Commission released a paper entitled Modernising Company Law and Enhancing Corporate Governance in the European Union - A Plan to Move Forward. The document outlined a short-, medium- and long- term plans for enhancing corporate governance. Strengthening shareholders' rights has been one of its objectives. Following the plan, The Directive 2007/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the exercise of certain rights of shareholders in listed companies was enacted on 11 July 2007. It has been transposed into the Czech legal system in the law 420/2009 Sb. which came into force on 1st December 2009. The directive addresses an important corporate governance issue of overcoming shareholders' apathy by removing barriers, which have been keeping shareholders from actively exercising their rights. It however failed to provide a definition of a shareholder. The directive set out rules for proxy voting in a general shareholders' meeting. Member states or companies are not allowed to restrict the exercise of shareholder rights through proxy holders for any purpose other than to address potential conflicts of interest between the proxy holder and the shareholder by one of three prescribed methods. The Czech Business Code has...

Effect of probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei on the development of acute colitis in BALB/c mice.
Součková, Martina ; Jílek, Petr (advisor) ; Španová, Alena (referee)
Inflammatory bowel disease - ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease - are chronic relapsing intestinal disorders of unknown etiology. Acute ulcerative colitis was induced in BALB/c mice by 3 % dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) administrated in drinking water for 5 days. The effect of Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei RL14-P, a bacterium with potential probiotic influence, on the development of inflammation was evaluated. Lactobacillus was administrated intragastrically to mice on days 1, 4 and 8 and the administration continued for next 5 days during DSS treatment. Control groups received instead of lactobacillus MRSC medium or phosphate-buffered saline according to the same schedule. Clinical symptoms such as diarrhoea, rectal bleeding and loss in body weight were evaluated daily. Cytokine secretion (IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α) was determined in supernatants of 48 h cultivated splenocytes, mesenteric lymph node lymphocytes and colon pieces by ELISA. The impairment of colon descendens was evaluated histologically. Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei RL14-P administrated mice remained healthy without signs of the intestinal inflammation. We did not find the shortening of colon (a sign of inflammed intestine) in lactobacillus-treated mice. We observed that administration of probiotic bacteria...

Interactions of PLGA oligoester with aqueous medium
Hašková, Veronika ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šnejdrová, Eva (referee)
In the theoretical part of this diploma theses is described mechanism of drug release from biodegradable polymers and conditions which influence this release process. The other part of the theses is directed to the characterization of the methods of the enhancing or reducing of release intensity. The structure, properties, synthesis and use of PLGA copolymers are mentioned. In the experimental part is referred on the study of PLGA matrices degradation in the aqueous medium at temperature of 7řC. The results achieved at this low temperature are compared with the same results of the same matrices behavior measured at the same conditions differing in the temperature of 37řC. These results were provided by my colleague Lenka Rufferova. The parameters of the samples were the swelling and erosion kinetics and acid number time evolution in the one-to-seven days time interval. The weight of the tested polyester samples were 50, 100, 150, and 250 mg. The results supported the earlier findings concerning typical pulse behavior of oligoesters of D,L lactic acid and glycolic acid during the degradation process.

Isosters of transkarbams, synthesis, properties and biological activity
Holas, Tomáš ; Hrabálek, Alexandr (advisor) ; Sedlák, Miloš (referee) ; Beneš, Luděk (referee)
1. SUMMARY The major aim of this dissertation was to synthesize and test isosteric analogs of T12. On the whole, 76 new compounds were prepared which have not previously been published. 28 compounds were tested as the transdermal permeation enhancers. Structure of these synthesized compounds was confirmed by FTIR, 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR analysis. Purity of the carbamate salts was verified by CHN analysis. With respect to the results, financial and time demandingness, permeation-enhancing activity was measured only on selected compounds. More than 400 permeation experiments were performed, more than 3000 HPLC chromatograms were analysed. To sum up, the permeation studies have shown that there is the relationship between structure and action of the studied compounds in the middle-lipophilic donor medium. Permeation-enhancing activity from the 60% propyleneglycol donor medium is in the following order: ester  carbonate  ketone ≥ amide = carbamate = alkane. Furthermore, there have been found another arguments confirming proposed mechanism of action of T12 - CO2 release in stratum corneum.
