Mathematical analysis and numerical simulation of bone remodeling
Čížek, Pavel ; Hron, Jaroslav (referee) ; Maršík, František (advisor)
In the presented work, we study a model of bone deformation caused by action of external forces. After the biological introduction, in which we describe a bone remodelling process and its connection with bone deformation, we deal with conservation laws and material characteristics of a bone. We define weak formulation. Further, we linearize the equations and prove existence and uniqueness of the solution. Consecutively, we describe the finite element method and the programming of this method for the computing of the approximate solution of the problem using the logic of object-oriented programming. We also adduce a description of the used data structures. In the conclusion, we present numerical results reached by the described program that represent deformation of femur and deformation of vertebras and intervertebral foramina.

Allah and God of Christians: Do we have the same God with Muslims?
Zedníček, Jiří ; Balabán, Milan (advisor) ; Hošek, Pavel (referee)
My thesis "Allah and God of Christians" deals with the relation between Christianity and Islam. As the essay subtitle "Do we have the same God with Muslims?" suggests, I am asking to what extent Allah and God of Christians are similar, close or different. Both traditions profess the faith in one and unique, compassionate and merciful God who is the Creater and Lord of this world. However, the God himself cannot be a subject of our investigation. Investigation or comparison can only be submitted to the testimony and witness of the God. These are preserved for us and get to us by the tradition being passed down. Investigation of this tradition, especially Islamic, is, therefore, a method of my work. In the introductory part I deal with the pre-Islamic Arabia. Further on I focus on the life and work of the prophet Muhammad as the founder or revelator of Islam. In the second part I deal with the Koran and the tradition of its interpretation. The conclusion concerns the theological testimonies about the common topics which seem to diverge or converge the both religions. My intention was to seek the relations or links where the both traditions coincide and where it is possible to find common topics, values and ideas. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Explicit fixed-points in provability logic
Chvalovský, Karel ; Bílková, Marta (referee) ; Švejdar, Vítězslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to discuss the explicit calculations of xed-points in provability logic GL. The xed-point theorem reads: For every modal formula A(p) such that each occurrence of p is under the scope of ¤, there is a formula D containing only sentence letters contained in A(p), not containing the sentence letter p, such that GL proves D ' A(D). Moreover, D is unique up to the provable equivalence. Firstly, we establish some special cases of the theorem and then we will look more closely at the full theorem. We show one semantic and two syntactic full xed-point constructions and prove their correctness. We also discuss some complexity aspects connected with the constructions and present basic upper bounds on length and modal depth of the constructed xed-points.

Approximation and numerical realization of contact problems with given friction and a coefficient of friction depending on the solution in 3D.
Ligurský, Tomáš ; Haslinger, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Knobloch, Petr (referee)
Three-dimensional contact problems with given friction and a coefficient of friction depending on the solution are studied. By means of the fixed-point approach, the existence of at least one solution is proved provided that the coefficient of friction F is represented by a continuous, positive and bounded function. Under an additional assumption, namely the Lipschitz continuity of F with a sufficiently small modulus of the Lipschitz continuity, the uniqueness of the solution is shown. The problem is discretized by the finite element method. The existence and uniqueness of the solution to the discrete problems are investigated in a similar way as it has been done in the continuous setting. Convergence of solutions to the discrete models in an appropriate sense is established. The method of successive approximations is used for finding fixed-points. Each iterative step leads to a contact problem with given friction and a coefficient of friction which does not depend on the solution. We introduce a mixed variational formulation of this problem from which the dual formulation used in computations can be derived. Numerical results of model examples are presented.

Play behaviour of Hanuman langur (Semnopithecus entellus)
Petrů, Milada ; Špinka, Marek (advisor) ; Sedláček, František (referee) ; Nekovářová, Tereza (referee)
2 Summary Play is very interesting part of behaviour. Despite of broad interest it still remains insufficiently well-researched. Researchers try to describe play behaviour and explain the ontogenesis and answer one of the most important questions about function of play behaviour. These are the main topics that I deal with in my Ph.D. thesis, specifically with detail analysis of play behaviour based on data obtained from own video-recording of play behaviour of free- ranging Hanuman langurs (Semnopithecus entellus) in Bhangarh locality in northwest India. Goal of the Ph.D. thesis is to analyze several aspects of play behaviour. First goal was characteristic of play behaviour and its categories and compiling of play ethogram. Self- handicapping is in the centre of interest of my study of play behaviour. This behaviour is typical and unique for play and has not been satisfactorily explained. In first paper included in my Ph.D. thesis I analysed patterns of ethogram of play behaviour of Hanuman langurs and other monkey species. Results showed that self-handicapping patterns and pattern dissimilar to "serious" behaviour can constitute a major part of play repertoire. Play behaviour is very variable and different parts may have different function. In second publication we analyzed in detail performance and...

Position Youthful to Selected Subcultures
VACÍKOVÁ, Pavla
In my bachelor thesis The Attitudes of The Adolescents towards Selected Subcultures I try to describe selected subcultures in Bohemia and find out more about the views and attitudes of people from 15 to 18 years of age towards this topic. The focus is on what helps the adolescents to identify with the group more ? whether it is the dressing style or the music style. In the theoretical part are the definitions of the terms that are important for this thesis, and description of the selected subcultures. I explain terms such as ?adolescents? from the point of view of a developmental psychology and a law. The law gives us the age definition and the developmental psychology describes the behavioral changes that are happening at this lifetime. Another term is the term ?youth? and it?s charakteristics. With that goes terms like: priotities, changes in overviews on situations, attitude towards life and the way the youth understands the society. Following part of the thesis is dedicated to a culture, different opinions on understanding and explaining the culture. And the next chapter is about subculture, it?s emergence, development, differences from ?culture? and the risks it hides. The subcultures are described from it?s begging, coming and expressions in Czech Republic, also the founders are mentioned, the main characters, and what is most important for my thesis ? the music style and the dressing style that belongs to the specific subculture. There are many different subculters in the Czech Republic, but I tried to focus on those, who are more popular among the adolescents and are also known by the wider society. In the practical part of the thesis was used an interview with respondents. lso the way the data were collected and the selection of respondents are described in this part. I?ve chosen a qualitative research and a method of a semi-structured interview. The data were sorted and placed into charts. The respondents were chosen with a purposeful selection. The main goal was to find out, with which subculture?s characters identify the adolescents themselves the most. Component goal was to find out, whether they can identify themselves with any of the subculture?s characters. The research questions were chosen to find how important is to the adolescents the way they dress and if it has any influence on the music style they prefer. According to the the results the adolescents find the way they dress important. What is important is the dressing style, not really the color. But what was more important was the music style the adolescents listen to. Most of the respondents who were asked what is more important to them ? whether the music or the dressing style, have chosen the music. This decision was often explained away that the music is everywhere, it is available and it is something, that makes connections with contemporaries and friends. Also a lot of people answered, that the dressing style and music style are equaly important. This group said, that they do not separate what is more important to them, but they take in these two terms as something connected and interrelated.Another component goal was to find out, what about the subculture influenced the respondents the most, what hit them. This goal was answered according to the data, that was taken from the research questions. The thing that influences the adolescents the most is the music ? other answeres were rather unique. The main goal was to find out, with which subculture?s characters identify the adolescents themselves the most. The answers were similar to the answers to the component goal. The adolescents are the most related to the music styles. It is also the biggest index according to which they choose their friends, the subculture.Out of those answers was drawed a conclusion, that the music is for this lifetime really important and that it is also a means of a certain communication and forwarding opinions.

Revitalizace kulturních památek v Dolních Počernicích s využitím financí ze strukturálních fondů EU
Holáňová, Andrea ; Tyslová, Irena (advisor) ; Patočka, Jiří (referee)
The main aim of my bachelor thesis is to describe the possibilities and approaches how to renewal cultural relicts which have already lost their use and how to integrate them into a contemporary community. In a theoretical part of the work original requirements for preservation of cultural heritage in the Czech Republic are discussed and individual conceptions concerning this systematic care are presented. Since a main problem is a shortage of financial sources in a culture, a possibilities of utilization of European Union Structural Funds are discussed. The utilization of European Funds simplifies and helps to many subjects to ensure a needed care for monuments. These Structural Funds enable to many villages and cities to carry out such projects which should be hardly ever done without this support. For a practical part of my work I have selected a region of Prague called Dolní Počernice which has been a successful recipient of these European Funds for several years and, on the basis of these Funds, it has already finished many unique projects to preserve and develop cultural assets. Each of these already realized or planned projects is a good example how to improve the life of the people in the region and how to enrich a social and culture life of habitants. In addition, these Funds can help to increase a competitiveness and attractiveness of this region. I believe that these projects are not the final ones but they are only a step for a further development of this part of the Prague.

Germinie Lacerteux in Czech translations
Kinská, Jana ; Šotolová, Jovanka (referee) ; Belisová, Šárka (advisor)
The aim of this thesis has been to create a comparative critical analysis of the two Czech translations of the French novel called Germinie Lacerteux by the Goncourt brothers, written in 1865. The first part of the thesis contains detailed information on the life and works of Edmond (1822 - 1896) and Jules de Goncourt (1830 - 1870) as well as an outline on a wider historical and literary context of their works, with a remark on their activities in other fields, such as art, literary criticism or history, as well as their legacy of the Goncourt Academy. Particular attention has been paid to their journal, Journal : mémoires de la vie littéraire, which, embracing 45 years (1851 - 1896), comprises their experience in the literary and art circles as well as other observations, and represents a valuable source illustrating their period. A position of the unique couple of writers in French realism is defined here and a particular stress is put on their pioneer role in the emerging naturalism. This movement was associated with specific methods of creations, mainly based on the collection of documents and notes from different social environments. This chapter is followed by a part dedicated to the reception of the novel analyzed in France, where its argot and depiction of the lowest classes met, on the one hand,...

The Rescue Operations at Fire of the Watercraft on Water Surface Considering the Equipment of Fire Station on the South Bohemia.
BOUBAL, Vojtěch
At the beginning of thesis I want to describe few primary characteristics of the South Bohemia Region. It is a region with unique characteristics, which is frequently visited by domestic and foreign tourists. It is popular for its clean environment, historic monuments and especially for sport and recreational activities near water areas, which South Bohemia region has plenty of. Tourists are also frequently seeking recreational boating activities as ferry services for their travel and recration. The development of this economic phenomenon means more employment opportunities for the region, but it also increases chances of accidents and emergencies due to an unforseen accidents which can threaten the lives and wellbeing of the crew and the environment. Fire protection units should be fitted for an emergencies such as: drowning, drowned person search, icy water search and rescue and rescue in stream waters. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical parts. The theoretical part deals with the definition of basic terms describing the issue of fire of the vessels as well as the tasks and procedures during fire fighting operations. It also presents a possible danger to rescuers exposed during operations such as rescue from the vessel burning on the water. There is a listing of the basic terms related to the complex vessel shape and the aquatic characteristics of the vessel. The practical part deals with the study of publications and current legislation, analysis of the Fire protection Units equipment and their readines for rescue work in case of a vessel fire. The enclosed data map illustrates a water area with ferry service in the South Bohemia Region and selected boarding platforms for fire protection units. It describes the use of container technology; modern and economical way of transportation used by the Fire and Rescue Service of South Bohemia Region since 2004. The proposed fire vessel, mounted on a standardize container frame and equipped with special container with stored technical equipment will be transported to the location of event by container carrier from FRS of South Bohemia Region. My theosis also describes the fire protection, fire equipment, personal protective equipment, equipment for working with hazardous substances, rescue tools, communication and portable emergency equipment which is normally used by the fire units of FRS of South Bohemia Region. To achieve the objective of the thesis and to answer the research questions, I did rely on the reference material obtained via search of the professional literary sources relevant to the Fire Fighting equipment and carrying out rescue work. To process the diploma thesis I did use the following: controlled interview with the station sergeants of various fire stations of FRS of South Bohemia, a collection of internal acts of the Ministry of Interior - General Directorate of Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, a collection of internal acts - Regional Directorate of FRS of South Bohemia, Regulations of Mechanical services of FRS of CR and the methodological aids of the Ministry of Interior of CR. In conclusion I am describing the container of fire vessel and its use for rescue and fire-fighting work on water, as well as places where the terrain does not allow the use of mobile fire fighting equipment.

The Origins of the Psychological Prose of Václav Řezáč
Hladišová, Kateřina ; Hrabáková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Pechová, Drahoslava (referee)
In my diploma thesis Beginning of Psychological Prose in Václav Řezáč's Work I go after developement psychological motives and themes in work one of the unique czech writers. I also concern for procedure, which is typical for psychological prose. In my diploma thesis I am interested only in a 1928 - 1940 period, when Řezač started writing his first short stories and lately focused on writing novels (Větrná setba 1935, Slepá ulička 1938, Černé světlo 1940). Černé světlo has assured him the forefront position in czech psychological prose. Summary of developement Rezáč's prose in a 1928 - 1940 period I mention in Conclusion. Psychological elements occur already in Řezáč's first short stories. His novel Větrná setba (1935) deals with a protagonist, the adolescent boy, who sinks into moral decline during the First World War. Novel takés advantage of psychological themes such as Oidipus complex, conflict of thought and acts. The protagonist does not like himself. Větrná setba draws on Šrámek's novel Stříbrný vítr (1910). Slepá ulička (1938) is sociál novel with psychological elements. For the first time author works with many storylines, lyric style gives way to epic style. There appear motives of anarchism and socialist realism. The title is symbolic, all characters end in a blind alley. From psychological...
