Spirituality in Seriously Ill and Dying Patients
Špaček, Martin ; Lachman, Jan (advisor) ; Keřkovský, Pavel (referee)
This thesis focuses on spirituality particularly in relation to dying and death. It aims to provide an introduction to spirituality for health care professionals - especially physicians - as well as to discuss possible ways of addressing spiritual concerns in complex care of patients. The secularization of modern society and technological advance in medicine have extensively marginalized death and dying. However, hospice movement and palliative care reintroduced a new model of "good death" and revived interest and recognition of spirituality of seriously ill and dying patients. Despite multiple official recommendations including World Health Organization statements spirituality has a low profile both in our society and health care system, spiritual issues are generally not considered in medical education or in training of allied professions. Spirituality - as well as religion - is a complex phenomenon and may be discovered and expressed in wide variety of ways, depending on cultural and religious traditions. Medical staff should be able to identify and address spiritual issues of importance to their patients, not only in the end-of-life issues but also during the course of treatment. The comparison of chronic wound treatment in general physician's practice and in surgical outpatient treatment
ŠUPLEROVÁ, Michaela
Current state: The treatment of chronic wounds is a complex process which is applied in the form of different interventions by nurses in the general practitioner's office for adults and nurses from the surgical outpatient clinic. The treatment is influenced by different equipment used in particular offices, by the presence or absence of the interest in implementing modern methods and, of course, by poor participation of health insurance companies as regards the problem in question. The treatment of chronic wounds should be accomplished by completing all the phases of the nursing process. It is necessary to seek for motivation towards further education in this field. Pursuing moist wound healing is mostly cheaper as it makes the treatment shorter, which leads to patient's satisfaction. Objectives: The objective of the thesis was to evaluate the nursing process applied during the treatment of chronic wounds in the general practitioner's office for adults and the surgical outpatient clinic, as well as observe the influence of education on the nurse's professional performance regarding this treatment. The research included the analysis of the competencies of nurses in the treatment of chronic wounds and the treatment methods chosen by the nurses to benefit the patient. Last but not least, we observed the circumstances of the admission of a nurse specialist as a GP's partner for chronic wounds treatment, and the obstacles to moist wound healing implementation in the GP's office for adults and the surgical outpatient clinic. Methods: To compare the treatment of chronic wounds in the general practitioner's office for adults and the surgical outpatient department we carried out qualitative research investigation. Data collection was based on in-depth interview with prepared open questions. The interviews were recorded by voice recorder, transcribed literally and subsequently analysed. When analysing the transcripts, we used the method of open coding, by the technique "pencil and paper". The text of the dialogues was reduced and segmented into individual codes. On the basis of similarity, the codes were classified in analytical units. The categories were classified into schemes by means of SmartArt programme in Microsoft Office Word. The results were interpreted with the use of the open cards technique. The first group of respondents consisted of nurses from a practitioner's office for adults and a private surgical outpatient department. The other group comprised practitioners for adults and surgeons treating outpatients. Research sample: The research sample consisted of 12 respondents from three medical facilities in České Budějovice. In the first set there were three nurses working in the practitioner's office for adults and three nurses working in the surgical outpatient department. The second set comprised three women MDs for adults, two surgeons treating outpatiens and a woman surgeon. The intentional selection was dependent on respondents' willingness to participate in the research and it ceased when the state of theoretical saturation was reached. Results: The research investigation showed that modern moist healing of chronic wounds is mostly implemented in the offices of practitioners rather than in surgical outpatient clinics. The surgical department is aseptic and they want to minimize the risk of possible infection. Apart from moist healing the surgeons use other modern healing methods such as laser biostimulation, biostimulatory polarized light and instrument-aided lymphatic drainage. The education of the nurses involved in chronic wounds treatment is not provided within academic courses. Just two nurses completed university education whereas the other nurses get acquainted with current information at commercial presentations provided by pharmaceutical representatives. These nurses lack the capability of objective assessment of basic and specific parameters of the wounds and of subsequent treatment.

Masnicová, Alžbeta ; Matuszková, Radka (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is design of cycle track in the section Bumbálka – Hluchanka. Cycle track goes through crest of Beskydy and highlands of Turzovka and connects tourist regions in cadastral areas of villages Makov, Vysoká nad Kysucou (SVK) and Bílá (CZ). This road is practicaly used for hiking in summer as well as for hiking in winter. The road is included in tourist tracks and winter cross country skiing tracks. However, considered area is not included in network of cycling tracks. Cycle track is therefore created by direction marking for cycle tourists in terrain along existing forest road and modification of structural layers. Design counts with presence of motor vehicles and heavy forest machinery in considered location. The result of this Bachelor thesis is design of forest road of cathegory L3,5/20 in total length 6,19km. Horizontal alignment and profile is maximum adapted to the original track and terrain because area is part of Protected area Kysuce and Beskydy. Section is divided in 6 characteristic subsections, where are designed new structural layers. Designed horizontal alignment, profile and structural layers are included in this project report.

Patent protection of medicinal drugs and relating issues
V neposlední řadě patentová ochrana zaručuje návratnost vložených finančních prostředků do výzkumu a vývoje. Zároveň však stále více farmaceutických firem zneužívá své postavení na trhu v úmyslu dosáhnout co nejvyššího možného zisku. Tato skutečnost plyne i ze...

SAP Products for Utility Companies
Šafránek, Jan ; Koubský, Petr (advisor) ; Kopecký, Petr (referee)
SAP IS-U is de-facto industry standard for customer information systems for utility companies through Europe -- used in electricity, gas, district heating and water utilities industry. These core modules are needed for invoicing tasks and most classical day-to-day scenarios: * IS-U BF Basic Functions * IS-U MD Master Data * IS-U DM Device Management * IS-U BI-IN Billing Invoicing * FI-CA Contract Accounts Especially for large customers in electricity and gas industry, IS-U EDM Energy Data Management is used for management of interval reading consumption and profiles. As utility industry evolves through market liberalization, unbundling processes are covered by IS-U IDE Intercompany Data Exchange (with PI Process Integration as and integration platform). Additionally, IS-U Work Management can be used to connect IS-U processes with PM Plant Maintenance functionality of SAP ERP and service department processes can be covered through two different products: * IS-U CS Customer Service - Older solution, less robust but fully integrated and easier for implementation * SAP CRM -- Stand-alone product, more robust, full featured solution My diploma theses can be used as a brief introduction into the world of IS-U and I also tried to answer these two additional questions: * Common processes that are not covered by IS-U * Comparison of ASAP and MMDIS methodology
