Physical therapy facilities in Down syndrome
ŠULOVÁ, Eva
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of influencing locomotor skills of children with Down syndrome by physiotherapy. In the theoretical part two key phenomena involved in the postural behavior of these persons are mentioned, which are low muscle tone (hypotonia) and laxicita ligament, caused by the presence of abnormal collagen type VI. These two genetically conditioned phenomena, according to the cited literature, are associated with impaired muscle cocontraction, with inadequate equilibrium reactions and faulty proprioceptive feedback for posture and locomotion. The research group consisted of three children of preschool and younger school age diagnosed with Down syndrome. Using the qualitative research method, information obtained from medical history and kinesiologic examination were recorded. In all 3 patients, poor posture was described, deficit of postural stability in upright standing, dynamic balance and deep and superficial sensation deficits were found. Therefore the therapy included elements of exercise in developmental series, sensomotoric exercises and equilibrium reactions training, exercises on a ball, working with physical schema, proprioceptive and exteroceptive stimulations, exercises to promote psychomotor development (exercise to music, according to pictures of animals), functional taping and breathing exercises. After completion of three-month individual therapy, postural stability in upright posture (in 1 patient), dynamic balance (in 3 patients), the quality of step cycle (in 2 patients) and the quality of posture (in 3 patients) were affected. In all the children the postural finding was affected by the change of the function of lower blade fixators. The therapy was limited by a lower level of cooperation caused by the mental handicap of children with DS. In this study, the positive effect of physiotherapy in the mentioned qualities on postural and locomotion skills in children with Down syndrome has been proved.

Medicines and seniors in Bayern - München, Germany
Eibl, Florian Leonhard ; Solich, Jan (advisor) ; Práznovcová, Lenka (referee)
The aim of the thesis was to analyze the importance and the position of German elders within the state and the society. The reasons for ageing of the population in the above mentioned society were described clearly. Later there was discussed negative influence of this demographic phenomenon on the society and the social system. The author tried to look for the measures to solve this issue and explore their acceptability. Here we can see that the elders are not only one important part of the state and society but it is necessary to solve individual troubles of this social group as well, mainly their diseases and fears. This should lead to better understanding of the elderly generation. The thesis supposes not only to pick up and analyze the results in the group of 300 elders in Munich. Obtained results will be utilized in confrontation with similar analyses performed in Prague, maybe in Hradec Králové. This way it would be possible to show the differences between examined groups and give the outcomes to formulate general projects in order to improve the pharmacotherapy in the elders. As real needs of the elderly are a little bit neglected in our modern and quickly living society, the author believes to have succeeded in the support for better understanding in the field of needs of the elderly...

Tendencies of Czech photography during the epoch of Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia
Vávrová, Michaela ; Wittlich, Petr (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor)
The epoch of Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia (1939-1945) was conected with big changes in a social life. The basic characteristics of the new systém was represi on, fear and propaganda. The main role was censorship ... In big Czech magazines, for example Pestrý týden, Světozor or Salon were beginning to appear articles and photographies which were misused for a propagandistic reasons. This potos weren't realistics. Big part of them were stylized to a propagandistic style. The most common topics were - agriculture, folclore celebrations, holidays and sport activity. New heroes are agriculturists or people working for Empire and so for "better" future of their country. All news from battleships were provided by German agencies. Though, in this period was a big increase of documentary and newspaper photos. Our best known photographs who were working during the Protectorate for magazines were Karel Hájek, Václav Jírů, Ladislav Sitenský, Zdeněk Tmej, Václav Chochola, Karel Ludwig, Oldřich Straka and Jiří Jeníček. Exceptional person was Karel Ludwig, who was from 1941 to 1942 worked as an editor for magazine Praha v týdnu. Jewish pilgramage places in the Near East and in Egypt in Hebrew travel writings of the 12th-16th centuries
Hlavní prameny práce tvoří cestopisy židovských poutníků a seznamy svatých míst, avšak vedle těchto zdrojů disertace bohatě využívá i dokumenty z Káhirské genízy, obsahující soukromou nebo obchodní korespondenci, a v neposlední řadě i hebrejská díla historické a literární povahy.

Spectral optical simulator
Kavalír, Zdeněk ; Pop, Tomáš (referee) ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and implement an optical simulator focused on spectral light sources and dispersion effects, suitable for educational and experimental purposes. The input of the simulation is an XML scene definition file describing light sources, optical elements and optical sheets. The result of the simulation is one or more pictures containing incident light footprints collected on optical sheets as well as side sheets observing scene from a distance along with track of light passing through the scene. A light source can be defined as a point light with user-defined spectral distribution or a bitmap light using input bitmap picture as a glowing texture. The shape of any optical element can be defined as a basic solid, or constructed using CSG techniques. The scene definition file specification allows using of arithmetic expressions and user-defined variables. The simulation is based on a distribution of light from light sources toward the scene using a Monte-Carlo algorithm. Behaviour of light incident onto a transparent boundary is computed precisely according to the geometry of an element; a paraxial ray approximation is not used.
