EÚ, the effectivitz of its institutional system and her ambition to become one of the world economy's poles

The aim of this thesis is to observe the EU's institutional system from the viewpoint of its effectivity and impact on the economic growth and various trasnmission mechanisms. The EU is a group consisting of 27 countries from different cultural backgrounds, with different national mentalitities, economic, social and politic systems. The economical and political integration is not taking place in a spontaneous way, as a process of continuous cognition, analysis and learning from mistakes, but according to a plan comming from upper political levels and with emphasis on the aims more than on the means. In the EU there are at least 2 levels of legislature, executive and jurisdiction, each on the national and supranational level. The nature of these 2 levels is rather parallel than vertical. An important link and therefore effective feedback is missing between the supranational level and the national level represented through the vote of the population and the performance of the economic environment. Constructivistic efforts are encumbering the economy of the EU with balast, that can be understood as a pool of from the system arising ineffectivities. The result of this balast is an inhibition of the economic growth despite declarations to accelerate it. This thesis will observe these ineffectivities through a more detailed analysis of macroeconomic fields as are monetary policy, labour markets and tax systems. The emphasis will be put on concrete impacts of supranational policies on individual countries, areas inside the EU and the EU as a whole. The USA will serve as a benchmark, because the EU has the ambition to get ahead of them as the world largest economy and that by the year 2010. The nature of these ineffectivities is of a rather hidden nature and therefore I will preffer the studying of literature in fields of interest as a mean of identifying the ineffectivities rather than atual quantifications.

Can population growth contribute to economic growth of the country?

A statement of Harvard economists about the impact of demographic variables on the East Asian economic growth, often called "economic miracle", raised many discussions about the sources of economic growth. In this work, I focus on the historical development of the mainstream opinions on the field of demographic-economic relations and the role of the demographic characteristics in the economic growth models. This paper uses graphics tools to analyse the changes in mortality, fertility, dependecy ratios and age structures in four Asian countries (Hongkong, Singapore, South Korea and Japan). These demographics values prepared the basis for their rapid economic development. I compare empirical results of Kelley and Schmidt model, Bloom model and Mishra model to make a conclusion of what is the impact of demographic variables on the economic growth and how they contribute to the total economic growth. Finally, I draw the attention to the macroeconomic interventions with detailed focus on domestic savings, labour market flexibility and human capital investments.

Městské regiony v kontextu kohezní politiky EU

Hlavním cílem této práce je přiblížení problematiky městských regionů a ověření předpokladu, zda jejich podpora ze strukturálních fondů EU ? při respekto- vání principu udržitelného rozvoje ? má potenciál pro ekonomický růst ČR. Jde tedy o analýzu celkových cílů a možností rozvoje městských regionů v kohezní politice EU v období 2007-2013 na základě zkušeností podobně zaměřených podpor, které proběhly např. i ve Velké Británii.

Porovnání vybraných států mezi sebou.Zjištění závislosti mezi používanými proměnnými s využitím regresní a korelační analýzy.Používanými proměnnými jsou HDP, kapitál, počet pracujících a úroveň technologií.Vše znázorněno pomocí grafů vytvořených v programu Derive5 a MS Excel.

La economía del Perú desde los aňos 90 del siglo XX hasta la actualidad

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je snaha detailně zmapovat a analyzovat jednotlivé etapy vývoje peruánské ekonomiky a naznačit její možné budoucí směřování s ohledem na politický vývoj, který se do ekonomiky tohoto státu výrazně promítá. Doplňujícím tématem je též rozbor vztahů země s okolními státy, regionálními uskupeními na území Latinské Ameriky a v neposlední řadě také s Evropskou unií. První část poskytuje zejména obecné informace o dané zemi a přibližuje etapy politického vývoje v ní, které vždy představovaly mezník ve vývoji ekonomiky. Třetí část se soustředí na obchodní vztahy mezi Peru a Českou republikou a možnostmi uplatnění českých firem a jejich zboží na peruánském trhu.

Diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem hlavních válek a ozbrojených konfliktů na ekonomiku státu Izrael od jeho vzniku v roce 1948 až po současnost. Jejím cílem je stručně popsat ekonomický vývoj Izraele, dát ho do souvislosti s jednotlivými konflikty a pokusit se odpovědět na základní otázky ? jaké jsou negativní a jaké pozitivní vlivy těchto konfliktů na ekonomiku Izraele a které z těchto vlivů převažují.

Is Debt Cancellation a Good Way to go?

The issue of the high levels of external debt in the poorest nations has become an increasing matter of concern for the industrialized nations due to the difficulties that heavily indebted nations have with sustaining economic growth. In 2005 the Group of Eight pledged to cancel the debt of the world?s most indebted countries that are eligible for the relief under the Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) initiative. Based on this pledge, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund approved the debt cancellation in March 2006, with debt cancellation commencing on June 1, 2006. As a reaction, this thesis provides an overview of arguments in favor of debt cancellation as well as against debt cancellation as they are introduced in economic literature. After presenting and taking all the points of view into consideration this thesis comes to the conclusion whether the debt cancellation is a good way to go.

Španělská ekonomika a postavení Španělska v Evropské unii

Hlavním cílem této práce je charakterizovat současný stav španělské ekonomiky se zaměřením na stručný historický vývoj makroekonomických ukazatelů a na možné směry budoucího vývoje španělského hospodářství. Práce je zaměřena také na srovnání ekonomické úrovně jednotlivých autonomií Španělska. Dalším cílem je zhodnotit postavení země v Evropské unii, srovnat výkon španělské ekonomiky s ostatními zeměmi Evropského společenství a shrnout důsledky, které s s sebou přinesla integrace země do EU.
