Podcasts production and consumption in the Czech Republic with a focus on marketing and business

This diploma thesis is devoted to the phenomenon of podcasting and its definition within the new media. It introduces the term in the context of its history and its current situation on foreign markets, ie the cradle of its origin. It also defines it in detail in terms of its characteristic features, form, content, and in terms of its consumption and creation. It also defines it in the context of other media types such as radio, online video and audiobooks. Attention is also paid to the possibilities of its monetization. The phenomenon is anchored in the context of new media concepts such as produsage, participatory culture and long-tail. Last, but not least, several chapters are devoted to the development of the medium and its current state in the Czech Republic. A significant part of the thesis offers and insight into the patterns of media usage by Czech listeners, as well as an insight into the current podcasting scene through the eyes of podcast creators with a focus on marketing and business. Based on quantitative survey among the listeners, the characteristics of media usage, its socio-cultural aspects, motivations to listen, opinions on the diversity of Czech offerings and the perception of advertising in podcasts were further explored. Laboratory scenarios explaining the basics of communication protocols

The goal of this thesis was to design two complex scenarios with focus on different kinds of transmission in packet-switched networks. First scenario is about ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) protocols. It consists of introduction to Stop-and-Wait, Go Back N and Selective Repeat protocols and their comparison. Second scenario compares unicast, multicast, broadcast and anycast transmission methods. Both scenarios use applications which can simulate particular methods or protocols. These applications along with virtual environments are used for demonstration of characteristics of these methods/protocols.
Archiving of news and sport footage in the Czech TV

This thesis describes the process of archiving of shots and programmes in news and sport editorial offices of the Czech Television. Newsroom prepares broadcasts for ČT1 and ČT24 programmes. The sport editorial office provides the broadcasts for ČT SPORT and also prepares the news for "Branky, body, vteřiny" on ČT1. With regard to this, both offices produce a considerable amount of audio-visual material. The thesis examines how this material is subsequently archived. Do both offices have a systematic and comprehensive procedure for archiving of shots and programmes? And are these archives easily traceable, available and usable for further broadcasting? The thesis summarizes the history of archiving of news and sport audio-visual material. The key process of digitization, which allows the transcription and saving of old archive materials stored on tape media, is also mentioned. After describing the history of archiving, the author focuses on the current methodology of the process and describes the system of archiving in news and sports news. Who does archiving and what systems and programmes are used for it? At the end of this thesis the future of archiving is analysed with regard to the progress in technologies used for archiving.

Report as a method of radio production explained, exemplified by Czech Radio

The object of this diploma thesis is the definition of the report as a method of radio production in the broadcasting of the Czech public radio, which is Czech Radio (Český rozhlas). In the theoretical part, the author deals with the definition and description of particular radio genres and with the genesis of the distinction of news, journalistic, documentary and dramatic forms of radio production. Looking forward for context and application of the radio reporting method in their production processes. Using definitions and expert studies of media and radio theorists, she names the basic attributes of these genres. This paper is a cross-section of popular and unpopular forms of contemporary radio production through prism reporting methods. The practical part of the diploma thesis is based on qualitative analysis of selected programs of Czech Radio. The analysis of the materials in the research part works with the prescribed theoretical concepts of radio work and it is also based on the research. The history of the sport department of czech television 1993-2015

This diploma thesis Historie Redakce sportu České televize v letech 1993-2015 describes the sports broadcasting in the Czech Republic (and Czechoslovakia) from 1989 to 2015. The author explains the most important milestones in the history of Sports Department of Czech Television. The description goes from the constitution of the department over the circumstances connected with the inception of the channel ČT sport, the changes in the organization, personal composition and editorial leadership up to the current form of the department. The thesis also contains the development of sports news, live broadcasts, television technology, Olympic Games, football and ice hockey broadcasts and the importance of the Internet utilization for sports department (abbr SD). The essential parts of this thesis are more than 30 interviews with editors of SD involving their own opinions, authentic experiences and stories. The thesis also reminds some of the long forgotten facts and answers many questions regarding sports broadcasting in the past, present and future including the outlook towards the year 2024. The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to get acquainted with the principles and option of aggregation network lines. Then apply the acquired knowledge in configuring and testing the performance of network elements in MikroTik operating modes, for example, by IEEE802.3ad, balance-rr, and many others. Properties of the selected mode will be shown, which will be demonstrated error–free operation. As well as operation and case of failure in re–configuring for some lines.
