Business plan for providing interpreting services to deaf people in Carlsbad Region in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis focuses on the current situation in interpreter services for deaf in Carlsbad region in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of diploma thesis aims to inform the reader about the terminology, language, another communication code and the number of deaf people in the Czech Republic. I present the information I have gathered about the deaf community. The goal of the diploma thesis is to create the business plan for interpretation services for the deaf community for the year 2019. After studying documents from the national organization I describe the current situation in the Carlsbad region with interpreter services for the deaf. The surveys aim is to interview doctors from otorhinolaryngology and foniatry in the Carlsbad region. The interviews focus on the communication needs of people with hearing impairment and the information doctors have about interpretation services in the region. Based on the data from the research I did, I found out the exact number of interpretation services for deaf in the region. Unfortunately from the documents I was not able to find out the exact number of deaf clients in the Carlsbad region. Transport Accessibility of Municipalities in the Karlovy Vary Region by Individual and Public Transport

This thesis deals with the spatial orientation of transport links in the Karlovy Vary region, with emphasis on links between the centers of the region and its hinterland. The first part describes the general characteristics of this area. It is followed by a selection of the Karlovy Vary Region transport centers and analysis of their acccesibility. This forms the basis for the transport-geographical regionalization of the region, according to the accesibility rates. The final part of this thesis is devoted to the comparison of the individual regionalizations and the identification of factors that affect them.

Involving users of social services in the community planning process in Karlovy Vary Region

This Master's thesis deals with the description of the current state of community planning of social services and the mid-term planning of development of social services in the Karlovy Vary region. At the same time, the thesis reflects the historical content which led to the use of the community planning method in The Czech Republic. In the thesis, the author uses examples from abroad and from The Czech Republic that show specific problems especially encountered by organizers planning social services. The author bases his research on his analysis of interviews held with planning coordinators in the Karlovy Vary region. From the coordinators viewpoint, they describe structure and course of social service planning processes in the region. The author also examines the role of users invited into the planning of social services, how planning organizers communicate with those users, and how all representatives evaluate the plan's results. An additional information source regading social services planning dealt with publicly available resources, particularly websites of individual cities and their regions. The theme of popular music in regional newspapers of contemporary Karlovy Vary region in the period 1957-1967

The dissertation Topic of popular music in the local press of contemporary Karlovy Vary region in the period 1957 - 1967 attempts to capture the process of official views presented in the regional press between the years 1957 - 1967 in the territory of today's Karlovy Vary Region on various genres of modern music, represented by mainstream dance music which later evolved into popular music. Articles, reviews and critiques relevant to modern music published in newspapers in area of Karlovy Vary and specialist publications dedicated to particular cultural issues in the region was used for the research. Furthermore, it was primarily jazz and rock music in Czechoslovakia known as big beat (bigbít). The introduction deals with the theoretical and methodological issues appropriate to the topic and their possible use. The next part deals with the social and cultural context in Czechoslovakia at that time, the influence of ideology on culture and simultaneously on releasing in art and society during the 1960s. Financing of Small Municipalities in the Czech Republic and its Political Impact

The thesis, Financing of Small Municipalities in the Czech Republic and its Political Impact, reflects a complex topic currently noticeable in the Czech Republic: the existence of critically indebted small municipalities. According to the yearly monitoring provided by the Ministry of Finance, the number of ill-financed communities is increasing. Due to their financial situation, a considerable number of small municipalities are forced to suspend many of the services provided to the residents, even though the legislation in effect guarantees equal competences for both small and big municipalities. In the case of indebted small municipalities, the difficulties are even multiplied. Often, the municipality is forced to abandon the prospect of further development and mere survival is in question. In the above- described communities, the participation in municipal politics tends to be significantly low and the residents express overall disinterest in public affairs. The aim of this work is to present three examples of highly indebted small municipalities with the number of citizens under 500 and to provide a detailed analysis on their situation. Kinship care in the Karlovy vary region

O pěstounské péči se v současné době hovoří především v souvislosti koncepce plánovaného rušení dětských domovů, posílení jejího výkonu a legislativních změn v Zákoně o sociálně právní ochraně dětí. Jedna z forem pěstounské péče je příbuzenská pěstounská péče, kdy se pěstouny stávají příbuzní dítěte. Pro dítě je výhodné, že vyrůstá v prostředí, které je mu známé, existují však i nevýhody tohoto typu náhradní rodinné péče. Má práce se zabývá pozitivy i úskalími příbuzenské pěstounské péče, a to z pohledu dítěte, pěstouna, biologického rodiče a sociálního pracovníka. Cílem práce se stalo zmapování problematiky příbuzenské pěstounské péče z pohledu sociálního pracovníka orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí v Karlovarském kraji.

Information education of children at public libraries in the Karlovy Vary region focused on pupils of the 2nd stage of primary schools (grades 6 - 9)

The subject matter of the B.A. thesis is information education of children at public libraries. Its analytical part, which is the main focus of the thesis, describes information education of pupils attending the 2nd stage of primary schools (grades 6 - 9) as it is currently provided at public libraries in the Karlovy Vary region. It also outlines further possible development in the area of information education. The aim of its theoretical part is no more than to supply the thesis with a viable framework and to introduce readers into the area of information education. It explains the basic concepts used in the field, such as information literacy and information education itself. The role of libraries in life-long education and learning is mention in the given context and competencies of a children librarian are discussed. The thesis also includes data about education of librarians in the Karlovy Vary region and gives an example of good practice in information education at Public library in Loket.

The intercommunal partnerships of municipalities of Western Bohemia

This dissertation analyses the development of intercommunal partnerships the municipalities of Western Bohemia more precisely the region of Karlovy Vary. It first approaches the issue of paradiplomacy and a cross-border partnership within the confines of the public administration organisation of the Czech Republic. Then the cross-border partnership is examined more closely through a case study of a specific municipality.

The topic of this diploma thesis is The regional establishment in the Karlovy Vary region. The main aim of the thesis is to delineate the character of the decision-making process in local self-government based on the analysis of the regional party system and comparison of the results of regional elections within the election period from 2000 to 2016.
The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on description of the basic concepts, which are related to regional development, creation and work of the region, regional election process and evaluation of the socioeconomic indicators in the Karlovy Vary region. The following practical part is focused on analysis of the regional party system, coalition formation process and comparison of the results of regional elections in the Karlovy Vary region in the period 2000 to 2016.
