Laser microdissection in forensic genetics: genetic analysis of sexual abuse evidence
Faltýsková, Zuzana ; Kopečný, Michal (referee) ; Krátký, Martin (advisor)
Laser microdissection is a novel technique of cell separation under microscopic view utilizing a laser beam. It has been used for cell separation from mixed samples in forensic genetics, such as vaginal smear in cases of sexual assault. In a rape investigation, few cells are usually recovered as the only evidence available for the assailant identification. When analysing a resistant cell type such as sperms, an effective and reliable method is required. This study aims to optimise the genetic analysis of laser microdissected sperms and to take the optimal protocol into practice. The goal is to develop a technique capable of recovery of reliable genotyping results from just a few cells. Genetic analysis was optimised for sperms separated from pure semen samples by laser microdissection. After optimisation, it was validated for sperms recovered from a vaginal smear. In the resulting genetic profiles some artifacts occured, that have been reported in samples with low DNA content. Possible solutions of these artifacts occurrence and elimination are discussed. In conclusion, the developement of an efficient and reliable genetic analysis method was successful: 10 sperms were recovered from vaginal smear and the genotyping result was capable of individual identification of the sperm donor. The thesis deals in the first part with the definition of social networks, their historical development and the basic principles of the operation. The content of the second part is focused on the benefits and risks connected to the usage of the social networks and contains the analysis of trends in the marketing practice. The next part is devoted to the most used social networks and describes their functional elements, which can be used by the companies to achieve their marketing objectives. The practical part of this thesis begins with the introduction of the company IBM, their marketing strategy and evaluation of the activities within social networks. The main objective of this thesis is to propose steps that will help IBM to avoid the mistakes which are currently being made. These steps include mainly the layout design and the usage of the most frequently used functionalities to allow more effective utilization of the social networks in marketing strategy. Although is Facebook the key element for the application of the proposed steps, the attention is also devoted to Twitter and the newly established social network called Google+.

Vaidová, Eva ; Kolčiterová, Jana (referee) ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor)
3 Abstract Diploma Thesis: Utilization of track and field exercises in the athletic training of women's soccer Student: Eva Vaidová Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Goal of Diploma Thesis: The monitoring of utilization of track and field exercises in athletic training of the women's soccer via questionnaire. At the same time the monitoring of cooperation within specialists of conditioning training and women's soccer clubs in Czech Republic, the monitoring of categories of their specilization, mainly category of coach of track and field. The monitoring of attitudes and methods of coaches to conditioning training is another goal of this thesis. Methods: To achieve the goals of thesis, was created and distributed annonymous questionnare among coaches of women's soccer teams in Czech Republic. 20 from 50 queried coaches filled their questionnaires in and sent them back. Results: I found utilization of track and field exercises by every queried coach. Each of them is using these exercises in different rate. We can generally say that running exercises are frequently used, less used are jumping exercises and throwing and strengthening exercises are little used. Specialists of the conditioning training are part of women's soccer training just in a few cases. Track and field coach was not hired in any case. Most...

Skočková, Sylva ; Radvanová, Senta (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jan (referee)
RESUMÉ The paper deals with the question of maintenance duties both of parents towards their children and of children towards their parents. The core problem of maintenance determination rests on utilization of relatively vague terms and necessity of consideration for too many factors influencing the result. The author's task lies in clarification of this intricate process and in identification of variables entering into this relation. The text consists of 13 parts, each referring to particular point of maintenance duties. The opening chapter mentioning the concept of maintenance itself is followed by the section treating sources of law within the framework the Czech legal order while taking into account previous legal development in Czechoslovakia. The subsequent part describes historical development of the maintenance duty, which could be traced back to the ancient Rome empire. The next heading is dedicated to general characteristic of maintenance duty. The fifth chapter analyses maintenance duty of parents towards their children, where one can identify related important features such as subjects of the relationship, duration, restoring, possibilities to change prescribed alimony, scope of defined alimony etc. Consequently, maintenance duty of children towards their parents is examined reflecting...

Expected value of information in stochastic programming
Čížková, Jitka
Stochastic problems (both two-stage and multistage) can be formulated in several di erent ways which utilize to various extent available information on a future realization of incorporated random parameters. When comparing optimal objective function values resulting from di erent formulations of the given problem with the same available information, we obtain a value of using one of these formulations rather than the other one (e.g., VSS). Level of the available information can be changed by a partial or full relaxation of nonanticipativity constraints, which assure that a present decision is independent of future (unknown) realizations of random parameters. By comparing optimal objective function values gained when solving the given problem with distinct levels of available information we obtain (expected) value of partial or perfect information. In this work we present de nitions of various information value types and related values connected with the problem formulation and we derive their properties (nonnegativity, bounds). In the last part we introduce their summary classi cation.

Approaches to using the human mind towards a respectful and participative lifestyle
Sokolíčková, Zdenka ; Storchová, Barbara (referee) ; Ortová, Jitka (advisor)
The diploma thesis called Approaches to us ing the potential oj the human mind towards a respectfitl and participative lifestyle is the independent approach of student Zdenka Sokolíčková, to the question of man' s place in nature. The topic is mainly connected with the academic field of cultural ecology but extends further, into the field of philosophy as well. It is generally based on three sources of relevant literature: contemporary natural sciences, philosophy and social sciences throughout history, and selected literary works including both prose and poetry. The thesis itself is structured as follows: at first the main widely used terms and expressions in the text (such as mind, consciousness, reality, subject and object) are defined. Then the crucial hypothesis of the altemative conception of man' s place in nature is formulated. Above all the student accents the role and potential of the human mind which offers large possibilities for the cognition and understanding of the subject through a holistic apprehension of the world. To illustrate the argument, there are presented several selected works of reputable natural scientists, such as Fritjof Capra, James Lovelock, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Gregory Bateson or Konrad Lorenz. This chapter is followed by similar commentary on social scientists and...
