Possibilities of logopaedic care for pre-school children in České Budějovice

Theoretical part of my thesis deals with basic terms from the logopedic treatment field, such as logopedic prevention, logopedic diagnosis and logopedic therapy and it also describes the system of logopedictreatment in the Czech Republic, including competence and qualification requirementsof the social workers providing this logopedic treatment. The practical part focuses on a survey, which uses the method of document analysis and interviews. Its aim is to identify what the alternatives of logopedic treatment for preschool children are in representative nursery schools and other institutions available in the city of České Budějovice. Its part is e.g. also the survey of the provided logopedic treatment range.
The Development of communication skills in children with logopedics defect

This bachelor thesis is focused on speech development in children with developmental dysphasia in pre-school period. In the theoretical part are described the development of speech in the preschool period, factors influencing speech development, impaired communication ability and impaired speech development. The main theme of the theoretical part is developmental dysphasia, its etiology, characteristic features, differential diagnosis and therapies. Further, this part of thesis describes effects of developmental dysphasia on the child, his personality and his family. The practical part of this thesis deals with the assessment of the level of speech skills of seven selected children in the logopedic class of kindergarten. The partial goal of the thesis is mapping of development in other areas (memory, visomotor coordination and visual analysis and synthesis) that are disturbed because of developmental dysphasia. This section is based on four short diagnostic tasks, analysis of children's papers and teacher's diary. The resulting data is recorded in case reports, tables and evaluated in response to research questions.
The comunication skills development in preschool children with the specific needs

The thesis involves communication skills of preschool children with intellectual disability. The theoretical part describes development of communication skills, impact of intellectual disability on communication skills and diagnoses of children observed in the research part of the thesis. The practical part is based on qualitative research with casuist research problems. The main goal of the research was to describe the conditions of preschool children with intellectual disability and the possibilities of development of their communication skills. The result of the executed research are stories of five children, results of their communication skills diagnostics and suggestions and activities that can encourage and develop their communication. Methods of observation and direct work with children were used in the practical part. In the conclusion I summarized the communication skills levels of the observed children, the means of communication between the teachers and the children and the ways used to develop their communication skills.
Teamwork in the process of communication ability development of children with multiple disability in special elemantary school

The Rigorosum thesis in its theoretical part defines the basis and function of communication as well as motivation to communication. It also gives information on disturbed communication abilities, strategy during the therapy and therapeutic methods used in logopeadics. The term pupil with multiple disability is defined, and conditions and objectives of education in special elementary school closely focused on the development of communication abilities of the pupils outlined. Teamwork on developing communication skills of the schoolchildren, along with definition of the competences of the members of the team and possible types of cooperation represent the principal topic of the thesis. Analysis of the current implementation of teamwork, participation of experts from education and health care departments, as well as the purpose and intensity of cooperation in selected special elementary schools in Czech Republic is presented, based on the questionnaire survey. A proposal of the implementation of teamwork in practise is finally presented.
Efficiency of speech therapy by children before entering the first grade of primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with problems in communication disability and efficiency of speech therapy by children before entering the first grade of primary school. The thesis summaries knowledge from special education and logopdia. In theoretical part there are described the basic concepts of communication disability, development of speech, preschool age and speech therapy. It explaines theoretical context, compares the different approaches and differences in terminology and introduces the issue. The practical part discusses progress and results of research.
Aspects of deviated communication disorders

Thesis is aimed at children; within 5.5 to 6.5 years of age; with disturbed communication ability. The method of critical analysis of scientific sources was used to explain current trends of speech therapy and special education diagnostics and also to explain current possibilities and risks while educating students with disturbed communication ability. Simultaneously, the analysis of the diagnostic process in the advisory service was done. The research was done within a six-year term and included 848 respondents. The results showed that a high amount of students are entering first grade of primary school with disturbed communication ability. An analysis of disturbed communication ability and an analysis of progressive speech therapy diagnostics to map language levels was done. Standardised diagnostic tools including mathematical and statistical methods were used to evaluate the results. The results of this research mapped the communication ability of respondents (age 5,5-6,5 years) and showed the need for improvements in the diagnostic process. The diagnostic process was extended with the addition of speech therapy diagnoses which can uncover deficiencies in language levels were implemented; especially with respondents with health and/or social disadvantage. Autism - Application alternative and augmentative communication systems at the individuals with pervasive development disorders

This diploma thesis deals with alternative and augmentative communication systems using at the individuals with pervasive development disorders. Thesis is divided the theoretical and the experimental part. Theoretical part contains mainly informations about communication disability, speech development, diagnosis of communication abilities, alternative and augmentative communication systems and possibilities of aid to the families with child with pervasive development disorder. Experimental part presents research using questionnaire, which was send to the parents or legal representatives with child with pervasive development disorder. The research prepares base for next extensive researchs.
