Title: Basic Fitness and Physical Development of the Czech Athletics Federation Sport Centers Members Abstract: Aims: Aim of this thesis was to evaluate basic fitness and physical development among 12-15 year-old boys and girls - members of the Czech Athletics Federation Sport Centers (CAF SCs) - in the year 2012. Methods: We processed results from normalized tests carried out by individual CAF SCs in 2012. After revision and correction of data, we: (a) assessed completeness of reported test results; (b) analyzed results from four tests (50m standing start run, standing long jump, 2kg medicine ball throw and 12 minute run) averaged for age groups (12,13,14 and 15 year old) along with respective standard deviations; (c) compared these data with respective data from previous testing in 2011 and with results of average school population (Zapletalová, 2011); (d) analyzed data on physical development (weight, height, BMI index) and their correlation with results of individual tests, and compared physical parameters with average population data; (e) analyzed results of individual tests for correlation between each other. Results: We received complete data from 2 530 athletes, which represent 73,78% of all 3 429 CAF SCs members in 2012. Physical parameters were reported by only 10 SCs (from the total of 36 SCs)...

Peštová, Anna ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Jahodová, Dita (referee)
Diploma thesis "Sport and Intersexuality in Media" deals with the topic of intersexuality in professional sport, which was at the centre of media attention during the World Athletics Championship in Berlin in August 2009, as the South African athlete Caster Semenya won on the 800 m track. Because of her sports performance in conjunction with her appearance she had to undergo a sex test and until its evaluation she was excluded from athletic competitions. The aim of the study was to analyse texts published by selected nationally distributed Czech printed journals by using the quantitative content analysis and to describe the image of intersexuality, a publicly infrequently discussed topic, media submit to its readers, to capture any differences in the presentation of intersexuality and intersex people between the analysed media and to evaluate, whether and how the media contribute to retaining of the existing power order discriminating intersex people or whether they try to undermine this order.

Pavelková, Eva ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (referee)
Tomáš Jungwirth was a major commentator of Czechoslovakian television since the late 70's to the beginning of the 90's. The aim of this thesis was to give reader a comprehensive view on Jungwirth's personality, work chronologically describes his professional development (whether athletic or commentatory). In the first chapter, because of understanding the various aspects related to it, briefly characterizes sports journalism, more attention is paid to the live broadcast. Without this basic knowledge I would not be able to understand the conditions in which Jungwirth worked, and creating other elementary knowledge, such as how is the profession of sports commentator perceived. The second chapter is devoted to Jungwirth's life before coming to the sports section of ČST - especially athletic career. Tomáš Jungwirth was (like his brother Stanislav) successful Czechoslovakian representative for middle-distance running. Years of racing experience he used in his later career. Work continues with the third part, which describes Jungwirth's working in television - from the admission to leaving ČST and carrying out the function of a superior of the sports section on private Kabel Plus. As a top of Jungwirth's career I mark commenting of the World Championship in athletics 1983 in Helsinki. An important part...

The verification of chosen fitness tests was carried out during Physical Education lessons at the Elementary School Pacov, Za Branou and the Elementary School Pacov, Náměstí. The aim of testing was to determine the level of fitness abilities of the second stage boys. The author of the thesis chose four most commonly used testing tools - the 50m run, the standing long jump, the medicine ball throw and the 12 minute run. General physical performance of the members of the athletic sports centers
Kůta, Radim ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Krátký, Petr (referee)
In our bachelor thesis we compared the performance of the members of the sport centres (SpS). We compared specialist sprinters with other members of SpS and with the school population from the study Zapletalová (2011). We found that the level of general physical performance of 14 and 15-year-old sprinters is significantly better than that of the school population. The differences between the members of the SpS were not as large as in the case of the school population. We also compared the performance in the motoric test of a 12 minute run of Spanish specialists sprinters and the sprinters of SpS. The sprinters of SpS were worse in this case. Furthermore, we found that general physical performance of sprinters specifically reflected in their athletic performance. Development of awards for athletes by sports federations
Benda, Ondřej ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
This bachelor thesis looks at how Czech athletes have been rewarded by sports associations over time for obtaining medals or for appearing in the finals of top international athletics competitions. The thesis aims to analyse the data obtained on athlete rewards provided by the Czech Athletic Federation and subsequently to compare it with rewards of Czech sports associations, leading to possible proposals and recommendations for the future rewarding of athletes. In the theoretical section, the thesis first describes the rewards process from a management viewpoint, including its administration and the various types of rewards provided. It then looks at the development of athletics competitions from their beginnings to competitions held today including a description of different international competitions, and the athletics associations and federations who organise the competitions. In the practical section, the thesis looks at rewards for athletes and analyses them. Here a history of how rewards have developed in the Czech Republic is described, and these rewards are subsequently compared with other Czech sports associations.
