Důvěryhodnost rodilých a nerodilých mluvčích angličtiny podle nerodilých posluchačů
Hanzlíková, Dagmar ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Šturm, Pavel (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to investigate the influence of foreign accent on credibility of non- native speakers of English. The study was inspired by Lev-Ari and Keysar (2010), who observed that native speakers of English are less likely to believe non-native speakers. In our research we used the same set of statements and similar settings of the experiment to find out whether foreign accent will have the same negative effect on credibility of non- native speakers as perceived by non-native listeners. 6 native speakers from Britain and the USA, and 6 non-native speakers recorded the set of trivia statements for the test and 45 non-native listeners rated on a scale whether they thought the statement they hear is true or not. The results were analysed from multiple points of view such as the influence of accent on credibility, the influence of gender on credibility, and we have also analysed the individual speakers and items in the test to see if the results could be influenced by the behaviour of one individual speaker or an item. The results of the experiment revealed that foreign accent has a negative effect on the credibility of non-native speakers as perceived by non-native listeners. Czech respondents rated British accent of English to be the most credible, while people who spoke with a foreign...

Kroupa, Pavel ; Opatrný, Martin (advisor) ; Černík, Roman (referee)
The subject of my thesis is perception of crisis communication through social network. The aim of this work is to verify the connection and context between social network, interpretation and risk evaluation. The first theoretical part deals on the research of appropriate literature and defines key words like perception of information, communication, crisis communication, social medias and social networks. It also analyses the structure and communication process, types of communication, theoretical models of crisis communication, instruments of crisis communication and social networks themselves such as Twitter and Facebook. The theoretical part is the basis of the empirical part, which describes the realization of the research among college students. Stated hypotheses lead to the formulation of research questions and build the questionnaire. The questions in the questionnaire are built to verify that the high number of shared posts, sharing a particular user or a large number of controversial comments to that contribution may be related to the interpretation and evaluation of the crisis. It is emerging from the research that the high amount of sharing a post and the concrete person who shares this post has influence on the interpretation and evaluation of the risk. Benefit of this work is the fact that...

Šenovský, Jakub ; Bouma, David (advisor) ; Houkal, Jan (referee)
Title: The Transcendental Experience of Karl Rahner as a Starting Point of the Reflexion of Credibility of Christianity Abstract: In a broader scope, this master's thesis concerns with the question, how (or even whether) it is possible to show the credibility of the Christian faith in today's society, especially to those who are not believers. Specifically it is focused on the way, how Karl Rahner tried to solve this question. The starting point of his solution is the so called "transcendental experience" that is common to all people; furthermore, it is so basic that it would not be possible any thinking or action without it. Although it is so basic, it is also hidden for human, which constitutes the main problem with its clarification. In this thesis, I am focussing first on the solution of this matter in Hörer des Wortes and then in his late works: Gotteserfahrung heute, Gotteserfahrung und Selbsterfahrung a Grundkurs des Glaubens.

Krátká, Tereza ; Holub, Jiří (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
The aim of the work is to sum up main function of the metafictional narrative strategies in two Cervantes' Exemplary Novels - The dialogue between Scipio and Berganze and The deceitful marriage. At the beginning, the text is focused on composition of both novels, mainly on their narrative structure. In the next part, the work is concentrated on analysis of reminiscences relevant - as for novels' genre, language and style - for interpretation of metaficitonal narrative with respect to the period of baroque upcoming. Then, the narrative structure is compared with Cervantes' novel Don Quijote which is based on the same type of narrative strategy. The author comes to the conclusion that the primary function of the metafictional narrative strategies is a possibility to interpret the question of the truth in relation to the baroque reality of the 17th century in Spain. The main importance of the work is presentation of a detailed narrative scheme of two novels, up to now absent in majority of theoretical works aimed at Exemplary Novels composition. Key words: Miguel de Cervantes, Dialogue between Scipio and Berganze, El coloquio de los perros, metafiction, intertextuality, credibility, narrative strategies.
