Present view of Down syndrome screening
Hollá, Lucia ; Krofta, Ladislav (advisor)
he topic of his thesis current view on screening Down Syndrome I chose because of his interest in pediatrics, neonatology and Gynecology. Antenatal screening for trisomy 21 began to be implemented in practice beginning of the 70th years. Since then underwent rapid development when the invented many new methods for detection of Down syndrome with constantly increasing efficiency of the test and moving to earlier detection time period of gestation. The task of my thesis is to summarize all available methods prenatal screening for Down syndrome, combinations thereof, and the advantages disadvantages efficiency and their preferences by pregnant women.

New psychotropic drugs and their effect on developing embryo
Košťalová, Jana ; Maňáková, Eva (advisor)
In my diploma thesis, I researched the effect of mirtazapine on a developing embryo. Nowadays, new drugs are being developed and used for the treatment of depression. These drugs also include mirtazapine. The risk of using mirtazapine during pregnancy has not been documented yet and therefore it can not be used by pregnant women. These drugs are often very effective and well tolerated so it is very important to recognize the effect on a developing embryo. In our research, we used the method of CHEST (chick embryotoxicity screening test). We applied a dose of mirtazapine solution dissolved in DMSO to 4-day old chickens. The doses were 0.2µg, 0.15µg, 0.1µg, 0.05µg, 0.03µg in 3µl of the solution. As controls, we applied 3µl DMSO and 3µl destilled water. Embryos were being incubated for 5 days in an incubator and on the 9th day, we evaluated dead and malformed embryos and the spectrum of defects. From our observations, we have obtained the lethal dose, which was above 0.15µg and the dose that was equivalent to the LD50 - 0.05µg. Lower doses were safe, although these embryos were malformed. These malformations, however, were not statistically significantly different from the malformations occurring in controls. It is neccessary to continue and complete data for 2 -and 3-day old embryos, so that we cover all...

Influence of changes in the environment of a company on IT projects during the economic crisis
Vašut, Lukáš ; Střížová, Vlasta (advisor) ; Borlok, Ján (referee)
This thesis "Influence of changes in the environment of a company on IT projects during the economic crisis" deals with the impact of outside influences and changes in the environment on the course and management of IT projects in a selected organization. The work is conceived as a case study in which three projects are analyzed. In the first two projects, not only the course of the projects is examined, but also the management of individual phases. The shortcomings and errors are then reflected in the proposed procedures of the third project. All stages are compared not only with theory, but also with best practice and the general modern trends in IT. In all three projects there are described in detail the activities in the project life-cycle phases and there are highlighted both good and bad decisions of the project managers. The thesis deals also with the impact of changes on the projects: with the reasons of the changes and the consequences for the projects. To achieve all the objectives, various analytical methods are used, such as observation -- from the point of view of a participant in the projects was evaluated their progress, practical interaction -- engaging in projects and mutual cooperation with the other players, analysis of documents -- from internal documentation to technical papers describing modern trends and, finally, socio-metric survey -- to reveal the impact of the changes on the end users of IS / IT. The contribution of the thesis should include, in the first place, a critical evaluation of the projects and suggestions of better solutions, application of theoretical knowledge in project management, comparison with best practice and latest trends, their discussion, and own research and interpretation of the impact of changes on end users.

The development of new dilational stents for resolving chronic benign stenosis and strictures of the respiratory airways and esophagus in children
Janoušek, Petr ; Kabelka, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Betka, Jan (referee) ; Šlapák, Ivo (referee) ; Přádný, Martin (referee)
Stenosis of the larynx and trachea accounts for a small but adverse spectrum of diagnoses in patients treated in ENT and Head and Neck Surgical departments. In treating chronic stenosis and strictures, an unequivocal, generally -accepted approach has not been established. The predominant method of treatment is surgical. Other methods applied include endoscopic (laservaporation, aryteooidectomy) and extemal (expansive, resection) procedures. 10 the pediatric population, the desired method is one which has a minimal1y harmful impact to the growing child. For these reasons, indications to exteosive surgical treatments are limited. Dilatation of stenosis and stricture, and temporary maintaining of lumen patency using stents individual1y measured "to size" seem to afford greater advantages for use in the pediatric population. In cooperation with the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic), we have worked on the development of stents suitable for clinical use that exhibit a combination of useful properties (rigidity, absorbability, biocompatibility, microbial inactivity). The steots were developed by polymerisatioo of 2 hydroxyethy1methacrylate onto a template made from polyethylenenterphtalate type silk (Dacron). The Poly-HEMA material is registered by the national Drug...

Planning and realization of construction contract
Petráněk, Marian ; Sibilla, Luboš (referee) ; Nový, Martin (advisor)
This study dissertation deals with the planning and implementation of construction projects. The theoretical part gives the definition of project management structures, describes the compilation prices of construction work, time models of construction and construction tender documents. In the practical part is the description of the selected building sites, then the description deals with the alternative evalualing application of construction provided by budget program and planning documents. The aim is to evaluate the difference between the actual and alternative progress construction.

Empirický bayesovský přístup v mikromodelech pro výpočet rizika rezerv
Fedorčáková, Claudia ; Zimmermann, Pavel (advisor) ; Bílková, Diana (referee)
The traditional reserve estimation by an insurance company is based on the aggregated data. However, new trend is to utilize all the information available and analyse each claim separately. This way the application of claims specific features, such as non-proportional reinsurance or policy limits, is possible. The aim of this thesis is to construct the reserving model based on the individual claims. Following the recent legislative changes, the reserve risk has been redefined from ultimate claim horizon to a one-year risk horizon. Hence, the next task is to setup simulation model to calculate one year horizon reserve risk by updating the estimates based on new observations collected over one year. This is a typical task for Bayesian approach, therefore the model components are estimated using the tools of Bayesian statistics.
