Interactive Multi-user Virtual Environment
Okon, Hynek ; Máša, Michal (referee) ; Žára, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis proposes an extensive new system for virtual world hosting and management. The system is designed to o er real-time 3D graphical representation of the virtual world, to communicate and exchange data over a public network, to allow for automatic distribution of major changes in the virtual world to client installations, to allow clients to fully de ne the contents of the world and also to create new worlds directly via the client software interface, and to contain active elements programmable by the means of a programming language of sufficient flexibility. A reference implementation of the proposed system is included. The key aspects of the proposed system is that it should be universal, easily extensible and open for other potential virtual world creators. A CD included with the thesis contains source codes and translated executables of the program, with a simple sample database of a virtual world.

Prepairing graphic data in IS applications - testing of transposition forms of bitmap and vector graphics
Parma, Lukáš ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Horný, Stanislav (referee)
Abstract This work is focused mainly on testing software (further referred to as only SW) for transposition of bitmap and vector graphics. The work is split in two parts. Basic types of graphics, differences between them, usage, advantages and disadvantages are introduced in the theoretical part. The best known formats are described for each type of graphics. Also, fundamentals of transposition between the formats and the different types of graphics are introduced. Similarly, the principle of rasterization and vectorization is introduced. The practical part of the work mainly focuses on vectorization. In total, five programs for bitmap and vector graphics transposition are tested here. Four different types of graphics were defined and chosen for the testing. A way of multi-criteria evaluation was used to compare the SW. The SW is evaluated in two ways. The first one compares the functioning of the SW, the second one focuses on the results of the vectorization process. Used methodology and the choice of evaluation criteria result from a subjective point of view of given problematics. The resume of the work brings detailed results of research along with comments to every evaluated SW.

Proposal for a well-use graphical user interface, data-based transactional applications
Moudrý, Vojtěch ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Stanovská, Iva (referee)
This thesis aims describe principles that are essential for creating data-based transaction applications. At the same time it should serve as a methodological description of the development of a particular type of applications as well as presenting the correct solution and common mistakes. The first chapters focus on explaining the concept of a graphical user interface from its inception to the present. Describes the current possibilities of the application development and explains why today is put so much emphasis on the GUI. Another part is devoted to clarify the differences in transaction data-oriented applications from other application software. It explains the basic principles of operation and points out the wrong solutions, which are in turn supplemented with correct ones. At the end of the thesis there is mentioned, from the author point of view, an ideal solution for designing application that eliminates all the shortcomings described in the previous chapters. The theoretical part is based on the available literature and author's own experience. The practical part is made up and based on author's own knowledge and skilled colleagues working in this field.

It describes the influence of the English language on the phraseology and terminology of this domain. It specifies the graphic, morphological, and pronunciation area of transmition of anglicisms into the IT language. Thereby it attempts to approach the kind of relationship between technical language and slang expressions. The thesis also summarizes the slang expressions in the vocabulary part, where it describes individual entries, and presents the words which slang expressions originated from. It concentrates on the origination of slang expressions, divides them into the individual cathegories, specifies their creation, and shows individual examples for better understanding.

The organization and running of the chosen accommodation facility
Švejdová, Petra ; Indrová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Kiráľová, Alžbeta (referee)
The object of bachelor thesis is evaluation of the current organization and running of Hotel Jenerálka a.s. and at the same time proposal of arrangements on the basis of made analysis which might help to prove its operation in the future. Proposed arrangements should lead to a greater satisfaction of both guests and employees of the hotel. The main used method is observation which is made on the basis of work training in the particular hotel. The other method used consists of comparison. We will mainly compare development of rates in chosen years. Statistic data collection and sorting and its consecutive evaluation form the final part of thesis. To get the most precise and the most detailed information we will consult the situation of the hotel with a specialist, to be specific with Hotel Manager and Front Office Manger of Hotel Jenerálka. Due to comprehension of given topic we focused on a marketing strategy, organization structure and SWOT analysis. According to the results of the analysis were worked up specific suggestions leading to an improvement. These suggestions were handed over to a management of Hotel Jenerálka to review them and eventually implement as well. We are talking mainly about higher effectiveness of the Top Management and introduction of complimentary services. We can undoubtedly consider contribution the graphic illustration of the occupancy in particular years. Thanks to this graphic illustration is the progress of rates more obvious. Suggested arrangements from the view of employee are contribution as well because of employee knows the situation in the hotel better then unbiased beholder.

The Comparison of Websites of Selected Worldwide Cties
Novák, David ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Antonín (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to create a methodology for comparison of web pages of worldwide cities and to apply it on the selected websites. Introductory theoretical part describes the history and the present of web pages and shows their categorization, technologies, key statistics and reasons of rising significance of city websites with emphasis on e-Government. The official web pages of London, New York and Sydney are compared. These are modern world-known cities comparable in population, used languages and the overall attractiveness. Methodology of comparison tries to be objective, universal and reusable. It evaluates the websites with a set of criteria divided into 4 domains: graphical design, usability, accessibility and information content. In the end the final ratings are determined as weighted averages of criteria and domains.

Hrubý, Jan ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Kureš, Richard (referee)
Thesis deals with comparison of two popular programming libraries for the creating the graphical user interface. First is Swing where it is used Java language and the second is wxWidgets in C++. The main goal of my thesis is objectively compare strong and weak points of these two libraries concerning about factors like rapidity of development, platform independent, rapidity of user interface, facility of globalization, development of new components and creation of distribution programme. This comparison can make easier the choice of library for specific project and thank to using simple and practical examples, it is easier to understand and adopt mechanism of these libraries. Thesis is divided into Swing part and wxWidgets part. Each part starts with description of a way how the library is used. I will demonstrate implementation of simple application and creation of new user interface components. At the end I will write general comparison of both libraries according to established criteria.

SVG technology and HTML 5 Canvas object as perspective methods of inserting dynamic graphics into web pages
TRANTÝR, Tomáš
In my thesis, I deal with comparison of SVG technology and HTML5 Canvas object for insertion of dynamic graphics on web pages. Thanks to continuous development of web browsers and especially thanks to the usability of dynamic elements, those techniques are being supported and used increasingly among the Internet. My work describes principles of creation of dynamic graphic elements with use of both methods mentioned earlier, clearly analyse their advantages and disadvantages as well as the suitability of utilization in real situations. Also a set of original examples demonstrating the use of SVG and Canvas in practice is a part of my work, which should bring the audience even closer to those environments and their functionality. The functionality of both technologies in current versions of wide spread web browsers was tested as well.

Graphical models for the analysis of the continuous financial data
