Environmental Policy of EU

The thesis deals with the environmental policy of the European Union. It describes its basic principles and instruments, and characterizes the most important challenges related to the environmental protection. A part of the thesis is dedicated to the specific activities regarding the environmental protection within the European Union as well as on the international level. Particular attention is paid to the environmental policy implemented in the Czech Republic. The impact of the European Union on the Czech environmental policy is also included.
Land Societies as an Alternative Way to Protect Soil, Flora and Fauna?

Land societies do not make a special legal form established or presupposed by the norms to the protection of the environment but they develop their activities to the same objective based on legislation on civil societies and by the means of cooperation with land owners. The contribution points, what practical impacts the activities of the land societies have on the environment and on its components and what its legal linkages within the Czech environmental legislation are.
Endangered animals - cycle of paintings

The thesis is comprised of two parts - a theoretical part and a practical part. The practical part includes a cycle of paintings - a series of 8 portraits of endangered animal species in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on the reasons behind their endangered status, their current situation in the Czech Republic and a general overview of the endangered animal species issue. The thesis also presents a brief outline of animal imagery from the point of view of art history from the beginning until the present day.
Analysis of the segment of LOHAS consumers in the Czech market

This final thesis deals with an analysis of segment of LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) consumers on the Czech market. It investigates the existence of the consumer life style LOHAS, specifically in the South Bohemian region, which has been confirmed. Further it focuses on the main characteristic features which are typical for this segment. One of them primarily is the focus on proven brands, quality, design, smaller packaging of the products and responsible production of products preferably by local producers. It also addresses the fact the ?Lohasians? live in the area of the south Bohemia, they prefer foodstuffs/drinks based on natural sources and energetic efficient electrical devices. They think in an ecological and modern way, they like walking and while travelling they like not only having fun and enjoy adventure but they also like nature and its protection. At the same time the thesis provides information the south Bohemian followers of LOHAS are still influenced by price, marketing and sudden impulses. They don?t tend to use e.g. solar panels or hybrid cars either. It explains as well that it?s the consumers in the first place who are numerously represented in the age category over 56 years. Finally it deals with recommendations which the producers should follow if they wish this segment of consumers with large potential to be addressed.
City logistics in Paris

Diploma thesis indicates on traffic problems that arise not only in the huge world metropolis but increasingly appeal in smaller towns. They cause not only time and money losses but also irreversible environmental damages. This issue represents a big challenge not only for cities, transport companies, logistics service providers but also for each human being in the world. The thesis focuses on the utilization of a relatively new concept called city logistics, which should be the key for improvement of traffic situation in the cities through a higher level of transport organization and its management, cooperation between the parties and the search of new forms of transport, which don't support just the economic part of certain territory, but also brings sustainable development of transport in the future. While some cities try to become familiar only in theory, others have already obtained positive effects of its implementation. To those progressive cities belongs as well Paris to which I paid attention in diploma thesis.
Environmental Taxes - Ecological Tax Reform in the CR

This thesis focuses on environmental taxes and their gradual introduction in the Czech Republic within the ecological tax reform. The work mentions the history of environmental policy in the European Union, implementation and harmonization processes in the whole community in the area of ecology. Briefly touches on the objectives and principles of environmental protection that the European Union has set out the current environmental taxes and charges in the individual Member States. Among EU countries, details the history of the introduction of environmental taxes in Denmark and Sweden. The work is a general view of the reform in the country. Her appreciation and potential impacts of reform.
Environmental tax reform the Czech Republic

This paper deals with environmental taxes and environmental tax reform (ETR). I have chosen this issue because of on 1st January 2008 entered into force an environmental tax reform in the Czech Republic. Its final phase will be completed in 2017. I would like to explore how this reform is perceived by the subjects of a business, what is their attitude to it, and where they see its strengths and weaknesses. The first part of this paper is focused on the brief characteristics of environmental taxes and environmental tax reform in The Czech Republic and its framing into the national environmental policy. The next part focuses on poblem areas of ETR in custody to business and gives a description of the carried out survey. I am dealing with the experiences, opinions and positions of small- and medium-sized businesses to the ETR in the last part.
Optimalization of packaging management in Škoda Auto

This diploma thesis deals with the transport packages in Škoda Auto Inc. and generally with questions of package and waste management. The aim of this work is to analyze the transport packages in corporation Škoda Auto and on the basis of this analysis specify, if the optimization of package management is possible and at the same time suggest recommendation to realization of this optimization. The first part of thesis is focused on basic term, legislation and definition of possibilities of firms in environmental protection. Second part is the case study in Škoda Auto Inc., which deals with the relations between corporation and environment, analysis of the transport packages and their optimization. Recommendations for internal changes in corporation are formulated in this part too. In conclusion you can find the resolution, if the optimization is possible and how could be achieved.
Economic development consistent with environmental protection in the district Domažlice

The aim of this thesis is to map out economic development in the district Domazlice and assess its compliance with the environmental pillar of sustainable development. The theoretical part contains the summary of the basic principles of sustainable development. In addition it includes not only the general characteristics of the district, but primarily a description of the local economy and its history. The next section evaluates the current state of the environment in the district. The practical part is focused on environmental projects undertaken in West district, followed by a description of the responsibilities of businesses in waste management. The conclusion is devoted to programs of the Pilsen region for economic development and the environment and their use in the district Domazlice.
Cost analysis and accident response strategy in oil production in entrepreneurial sector in the context of environmental safety concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The role of economic theory in the preservation of nature in Kazakhstan is very current, because mining industry in this country is quite large and it is a considerable burden for the environment. This burden is obvious mostly in extraction and processing of crude oil. The main aim of this thesis is the analysis of state environmental policy with the focus on prevention of oil spills in the Caspian Sea in accordance with "State concept of ecological safety in Kazakhstan in 2004-2015" and also methods of oil spills removal as tools for environment protection including factual techniques and firm based costs linked to the removal of oil spills. Thesis will also include the comparison of effectiveness of existing models for oil spills removal used by companies in Kazakhstan. The first part of work is methodologically based on analysis of secondary sources: scientific articles and literature, ecology bulletins, official data of Ministry of environment in Kazakhstan, firm based data and "State concept of ecological safety".
