Theory of Planned Behavior and Counterproductive Work Behavior
Trojanová, Mariana ; Preiss, Marek (advisor) ; Ševčíková, Marcela (referee)
This master thesis aims to explore and predict counterproductive work behavior (CWB) targeted to the employer within a framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The question is examined by quantitative questionnaire survey, assessing attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intention and actual behavior. The aim of this study is to verify the psychometric properties of a non-standardized questionnaire designed in the theoretical framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior, analysis of functionality of the proposed model and the proposal of its possible improvements to be given. Unrepresentative sample (n = 71 in the first phase of research, n = 41 in the second phase) consists of working adults with a work history of at least one year. The proposed model of the Theory of Planned Behavior is analyzed using the method of multiple linear regression analysis, which shows a statistically significant relationship between the dependent variable and some of the independent variables in the first phase of the research. In the second phase, no significant relationships between variables are found. Since the psychometric properties of the measuring instrument are not satisfactory, the item analysis using principal component analysis is conducted, which identifies some problematic...
Miscarriage of justice
Semrád, Matyáš ; Herczeg, Jiří (advisor) ; Tlapák Navrátilová, Jana (referee)
Error in criminal law The aim of this thesis is a comprehensive analysis of the problems of error in criminal law, finding weaknesses in the current legislation and outline appropriate solution. By error any inconsistency of someone's imagination with reality is meant. Knowing the offender's error is a very significant for legal theory, in case of relevant criminal errors it is a very serious consequence for the subjective aspect of the crime. In the Czech criminal law, which is based on the principle of liability for fault, it is an issue, without which this concept was not complete and whose meaning would be fading away. This thesis classifies the problems of error in terms of current legislation, legal doctrine and relevant case law . The first chapter of this thesis is devoted to an explanation of the term error itself, its theoretical inclusion in the context of criminal law and explains its implications. It focuses on the concept of fault, especially its importance and its components, the two faces of it, which are intent and negligence, or on the concept of guilt. Knowing these two concepts is essential for the next orientation in the issue of errors, and indeed in criminal law at all. In the second chapter the work focuses on the historical evolution of criminal law concept of error of the...
"Guilt and Wrongdoing: The Problem of Responsibility"
Pacovská, Kamila ; Barabas, Marína (advisor) ; Kohák, Erazim (referee) ; Cowley, Christopher (referee)
(in English) This dissertation explores the notions of guilt and wrongdoing in the context of contemporary analytic ethics. It draws upon the critique, advanced in the second half of the 20th century, of a one-sided interest in episodic action and its rightness or wrongness. Thanks to the revival of virtue ethics during this time, the subject matter of ethics was extended to take account of human character and human life as such. As a result, the domain of moral psychology and of contingent aspects of moral experience started to be explored again. This development in ethics is outlined in the first chapter and the second chapter addresses the impact of this changed understanding of ethics upon our conception of moral judgment and responsibility. I suggest that the concept of responsibility divides in two: responsibility for the agent's (inner) fault and responsibility for the wrongdoing itself. Whereas the remainder of chapter two deals with the former, the rest of the thesis focuses upon the latter i.e. upon responsibility for the wrongdoing and upon two problems which are generated by the intricate bearing of luck and contingency on the concept of responsibility. The first of these problems concerns the relation of the person to her guilt. Guilt arises through a condemnable action for which the...

Speech Acts in the Play Owners of the Keys by Milan Kundera
SVOBODA, Marek
This thesis deals with the theory of speech acts which is based mainly on analysis of speech and its function in communication. We use speech not only to convey something but to also do something, to change the state of things around us and to accomplish specific goals. Speech acts in a literary piece are then analyzed on theoretical basis, specifically in Milan Kundera's dramatic play Majitelé klíčů.
Thomas Stearns Eliot and the New Criticism
VOŠTOVÁ, Žaneta
The content of my bachelor is T. S. Eliot's theory of art criticism. Eliot was and still is one the most important figures of thoughts not only for English, but for European literary criticism, I dare say. I will focus primarily on the major questions in his critical theory, and show Eliot's answers. The aim of this work is to outline Eliot's essential critical ideas and compare them with the ideas of the representatives of the so-called New Criticism, for Eliot is considered to be a source of inspiration of this literary movement. And based on this comparison I want to show what could new critics continue on Eliot, and in which issues they differ from him.

Why is the border between a virtual being and its world fuzzy
Brom, C. ; Lukavský, Jiří
In this article we first introduce the IVE project (Intelligent Virtual Environment - developed in 2005 at MFF UK, Prague) and ISMA model (Intention - Suitability - Materialisation - Advice) and describe related theoretical issues of the project. IVE is a simulator of large virtual worlds populated with virtual beings, which uses a new model called ISMA for virtual world representation. This model is inspired by Gibson's affordace theory and Bratman's theory of practical reasoning. Gradually we realized that some project results also have psychological and philosophical interpretation, which is being discussed in this article.
