Trčková, Barbora ; Král, Jan (advisor) ; Hofmann, Zdeněk (referee)
The thesis is dealing with construction damages in the undermined Kladno-Švermov district. This area is situated in the Kladno Coal district, which is a part of the Kladno- Rakovník Basin. Kladno-Švermov is one of the places which have been affected by mining activity for more than last 150 years. Firstly the historical documentation, structure development and engineering geology investigations were reviewed. Secondly the area was investigated and the catalogue of 39 documentation points was made. The aim was to register visible construction damages on buildings, roads, or bricked fences, which could be caused by effects of undermining. The consequences of undermining in the Kladno-Švermov district are still apparent and the impacts of the hard coal mining are not finished. The main impact in the area is represented by subsidence basin. It has affected all the area and the damages are mainly caused by unequal descent. They are visible on some buildings, roads, or fences. Attachment number 3 is represented by commented catalogue of the main damages in the area and map of the undermined district with documentation points is enclosed as an attachment number 4.

The sculpture workshop in Jezeří near Jirkov is a representative instance of sculptural production in both wood and stone in northwest Bohemia during the first half of the 18th century. Traces of its activity may be discerned throughout the area roughly outlined by the present-day districts of Teplice, Most, Chomutov and Louny. In addition to the founder and primary shaper of the specific sculptural style of the atelier, Jan Adam Dietz, the idea of the "sculpture workshop of Jezeří" additionally covers further exceptional personalities, who not only acquired in it the basis of their physical craft, but moreover the essential form of their artistic sensitivity. Primarily, these persons include the two sons of Jan Adam Dietz, Jan Josef and Adam Ferdinand, as well as Dietz's son-in-law Jan Václav Grauer. Thanks to its high artistic standards, the Jezeří sculpture workshop has attracted the attention of several generations of researchers, who starting in the late 1920s and early 1930s organised several exhibitions devoted to the Baroque and Rococo sculpture of the region. It was these first scholars who outlined the basic characterisations still used today to describe the work of J. A. Dietz and J. V. Grauer. Konrádová, Jitka ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee) ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor)
The objective of this study is an analysis of infant and child mortality in Prague in the second half of the 19th century. The analysis is based on the dataset obtained from church register of selected parishes in Prague and from Austrian statistics. This study is also related to demographic theories and historical context. The death of infants and children under the age of five and infant mortality rate are analysed in dependence on sex, age and legitimacy of children. The causes of death and the seasonal trends of mortality are studied, too. The results of analysis approve the considerable decline of infant and child mortality rates in Prague and also in singles parishes, but intensity of this decline is different. Comparative analysis demonstrates that this decline occurred quite earlier and with higher acceleration in Prague compared to Czech countryside. This development and also the differences within the parishes are attached to faster expansion, advancement and modernisation of Prague (especially of some districts) in the period of global revolution. Among these changes the phenomenal progression of medical science was the main feature and its great importance to the mortality decrease is incontestable. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

However, the buildings were not always used only for religious purposes due to historical events and changes in the Czech history. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first one gives us a historical and social context. Then, individual sights from historical, architectural and iconographical point of view are introduced. The first mentioned monument is a church Panny Marie Vítězné na Bílé Hoře (The Church of Our Lady of Victory at the White Mountain), which history is closely connected with an important battle which took place there.
