Concert and recording dramaturgy of the Czech philharmonie orchestra in the years 1948-1968 in context of the contemporary music scene

Historická kapitola orchestru Ceské filharmonie, kterou se zabývá tato práce, zacíná už v roce 1945. V ríjnu tohoto roku podepsal Edvard Beneš Dekret prezidenta republiky c. 129 o zestátnení Ceské filharmonie. Od této chvíle hradí náklady na provoz orchestru stát a Ceské filharmonii se tak dostává stálé jistoty financního zabezpecení. K dalšímu významnému zlomu došlo v roce 1948, nekolik mesícu po únorovém komunistickém puci - tehdejší šéfdirigent Rafael Kubelík odchází do emigrace. V sezóne 1948 - 1949 se vedení ujal Václav Neumann, 20. ríjna 1950 byl na místo šéfdirigenta jmenován Karel Ancerl, který na tomto míste setrval až do roku 1968, kdy také on zvolil odchod do zahranicí. Jak je na první pohled zrejmé, historie orchestru svými mezníky do znacné míry odráží spolecensko-politický vývoj v tehdejším Ceskoslovensku a jeho zásadní prelomy. Proto má svou logiku vymezit období, které nás bude zajímat, roky 1948 - 1968. S výjimkou prvních dvou let vyplnuje tuto etapu vedení Karla Ancerla. Literatura se shoduje, že Ancerlovým hlavním prínosem bylo proniknutí orchestru na mezinárodní pódia a repertoárové oživení - predevším z okruhu skladatelu 1. poloviny 20. století, z okruhu skladatelu moderny. Dodejme, že tehdy se ve vetšine jednalo o skladatele žijící. Celá Ancerlova éra se odehrávala v dobách nejtužšího...

The Importence and Objectives of dance Gymnastics today

Dance gymnastics is a special teaching subject, taught at dance conservatories which serves for preparation of all dance techniques. It is an essential preparation technique, which increases pupil´s physical dispositions and moving versatility and develops his artistic personality. It uses the natural movement possibilities of human body. In the thesis, I firstly try to introduce to the current state of dance gymnastics, focusing on its importance and approaches. I also specify relations to other techniques, by which dance gymnastics should be influenced. In the next part, I propose how to enrich dance gymnastics with elements of contemporary dance and point out specific components, which should be part of this kind of dance.

Flutist Josef Bok

The objective of this thesis is to present the life and work of Josef Bok, a Czech flutist from the first half of the 20th century. It brings information on his artistic development and on people who influenced his professional growth, it speaks about his time in Russia in the historical context, and last but not least it deals with his pedagogical activities at music schools in Brno and Prague. It also presents ?Škola hry na flétnu? (Flute Practice Book), a musical-didactic work written by J. Bok in cooperation with Rudolf Černý. The thesis tries to analyze this publication and compare it with the contemporary way of playing the flute. It marginally touches Bok?s role as a composer and a piano player. The significance of Josef Bok is evaluated through subjective observations and memories of other flute players and family members in the conclusion.

Travel stories of Adolf Hoffmeister. Postcards from China, Made in Japan

Adolf Hoffmeister is animportant figure of Czech literature and art of the 20th century. He was an organizer of cultural life, ambassador , member of numerous organisations . He devoted his entire life to travel ling - even after the World War II , which was made possible only because he was a privileged member of government. In this period he became known as an author of books of travel about exotic count ries, to which a regular Czechoslovak citizen could not even dream of going because of several border restrictions. This paper deals in detail with and compares two books depicting his travels to the Far East : Post cards from China and Made in Japan. The content is two fold: on the one hand, it depicts parts which have strong communist ideological background and depicts the way how they work, but on the other hand it also brings attention to different parts which spring from Hoffmeister's broad interest in art and literature and thus became more accept able for a contemporary reader.

The Church Organisations as a Part of the Czech Civil Society

The aim of this work called "The Church Organisations as a Part of the Czech Civil Society" is to clarify the position of the church organisations in the contemporary Czech civil society. It points its look to the church legal entities, which are registered in the specific register run by the Czech Ministry of Culture. The theoretical part explains several terms as the civil society or the civil sector and points to the historical context of the concept of diaconia and charity. This part also describes the embedding of the church organisations in the contemporary Czech legislation. The quanitative part contains a typology of the church legal entities, which is based on the CZ-COPNI classification of the activities. The qualitative part is composed of several interviews with the directors and managers of the biggest church charitable organisations. All the obtained information is finally summarized to the conclusion.

Tomás de Santa María and his Arte de Taner Fantasía

Libro Llamado Arte de Taner Fantasía is the only one known and the most fundamental work of the spanish Black Friar Tomás de Santa María. This book published in Valladolid in 1565 is a considerable guide of the music mostly of the 16th century and thanks to the collaboration of Tomás de Santa María with spanish composer Antonio de Cabezón is also a exellent textbook of interpretation of music from this Reneissance composer. The tractate surprises till nowadays with his orderliness and lucidity. It is not only a very good handbook for practise of organ music, composing, improvisation and accompaniment according the contemporary contrapuntal rules and instruments potency, but the tractate is still very recent, most in the parts treating hand positron, tone creation or rhythmical feeling as well. Santa María intervened in the history of fingering on the keyboard instruments as well. As the first one had menshioned the posibility of using the tumb on black bars a centruy before Carl Phillipe Emanuel Bach did so. Thanks to the edition af the department of musicology of the equivalent of the Czech Academy of Science and the publishing of the faksimile of this tractate the book is spread into the world for the general public and I decided of avail this opportunity and offer facts about the tractate, the basic literature wich deals with the book Arte de Taner Fantasía and try to approximate some of the Santa María´s ideas.

Analyse of MMORPG

The goal of this thesis is to analyze the up-to-date phenomena MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game). It is a game of RPG type with network add-on, which means, that game's accent is switched from interaction with scripted realm to contact with players. In games of this type the player controls one character and explores and affects huge virtual reality. In the project there are examined contemporary prosperous projects, from both freeware and commercial sphere. There are discussed various possibilities of implementation's and game design's problems and decisions. As a project's component a functional game with its own client and editor was developed.

Bouzouki: The National Greek Instrument

This diploma dissertation consists of seven main chapters which focus on the history, repertory, kinds, description, notation, folk modes, and biographies of important players and composers of the Bouzouki. The first chapter, called "The history of the Greek Bouzouki", covers the course of the instrument from its first appearance in the ancient Greece until today, describing the changes of the instrument and its connection with the people of each epoch. The second chapter is concentrated on the most important music genre Bouzouki performed, the Rebetiko style, and its importance to the Greek music. Furthermore, the Rebetiko periods and its subject matters are described. The third chapter is dedicated to the description, construction, analysis, and operation of the main and supplementary parts of the contemporary tetrachordo Bouzouki. The fourth chapter is commenting the playing positions of the Bouzouki. That means the way and of course the positions a player holds the instrument when he is performing, the way of holding the plectrum, and the position of each arm. The fifth chapter describes the tetrachordo-Bouzouki fingerboard and its modern notation. The sixth chapter is dedicated to the most important Greek folk musical modes the Bouzouki plays, the Roads, describing their melodic and harmonic structure....

The Liturgy of the Hours, its historical forms and options for the celebration in contemporary Czech parishes

English abstract Title: Liturgy of the Hours, its Historical Forms and Options for the Celebration in Contemporary Czech Parishes Abstract: The paper is devoted to the history and theology of the Liturgy of Hours with the accent on its application in contemporary Czech parishes. It tries to find the answer to the question how celebrate the main parts of the Divine Office on religious holidays in ordinary parishes in order to make breviary: a meaningful and viable enrichment of the pastoral agenda for parishes; a source for the spiritual life of the believers; an attractive ritual for the non-believers; an enrichment and not the obligation for priests. The knowledge of the history and theology of breviary, the teaching of the Magisterium and the necessary sociopastoral data about contemporary parish communities are used for the analysis. The discussion about possible return to the so-called cathedral office makes part of the paper. The character of the papers allows its future application as a theological ground rewritable into a certain handbook for the celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours in parishes. Tone and word accent in contemporary Serbian of Kosovska Mitrovica region

The subject of the thesis is the contemporary state of lexical pitch accents system in Serbian of Kosovska Mitrovica region. The theoretical background of the thesis is mainly based on Pavle Ivić's, Ilse Lehiste's, Asim Peco's and Svetlana Godjevac's papers. The thesis briefly outlines the development of Serbian lexical pitch accents and discusses the contemporary state of the system from the above mentioned authors' perspective. On the basis of recordings of texts read by native speakers from Kosovska Mitrovica the thesis describes the system of pitch accents in the region. By measuring the course of F0 in stressed and following syllables the thesis analyses the realization of respective types of lexical pitch accents, their mutual similarities and differences. With regards to these results the thesis makes conclusions about the state of the system in the region.
