Czech Signs for Elementary Calendrical Units
Fritz, Milan ; Richterová, Klára (advisor) ; Nováková, Radka (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to survey the signs of Czech sign language for basic calendrical units (seasons, months, days). The thesis is based on a set of linguistic data collected by the method of elicitation among deaf informants from six cities in the Czech Republic (Brno, Hradec Králové, Ostrava, Plzeň, Praha and Zlín). The set of linguistic data is described from the point of view of motivation including folk etymology. The topic of sociolinguistic variation is also covered in the thesis, because the data include lexical and phonological variants connected to particular regions or age groups. The calendrical units in Czech sign language are compared to analogical lexical units in Czech. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Modeling of solar irradiance for lunar base locations
Čašek, Jakub ; Brůha, Lukáš (advisor) ; Kolář, Jan (referee)
Modeling of solar irradiance for lunar base locations Abstract An incident radiation is an essential factor for a discovery of a place suitable for building a lunar base. This thesis presents a new approach for modeling of solar irradiance in an arbitrary lunar location at selected time. Shadowing by surrounding terrain is calculated by spatial intersection between lines of illumination and digital terrain model. Model also takes variable distance between Moon and Sun and areal representation of the Sun into account. In this thesis a new geometrical procedure for calculation of reflected irradiance is designed. The resulting model is implemented within ArcGIS software as an executable script, which utilizes the freely available data from Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter as an input. Key words: Moon, solar irradiance, geoinformatic modelling, scripting
Astropolitics of extraterrestrial bodies within Solar system
Doboš, Bohumil ; Romancov, Michael (advisor) ; Kofroň, Jan (referee)
The work deals with geopolitics of inner solar system with focus on extraterrestrial celestial bodies. First part deals with definitions, delimitation of researched territory, and definition of researched questions. Afterwards, we deal with basics of astrophysics which is necessary precondition for understanding specifics of astropolitics and the issue of space- faring actors. Here, both state and non-state actors, their capacities and ability to become colonizing actor, are assessed. The work continues with exploration of single celestial bodies - Earth's Moon, Mars and its moons, and smaller bodies like asteroids. The final chapter scratches the issues crucial for space colonization such as sovereignty and weaponization. Based on these factors, few models of space colonization are presented. Conclusion then sums up all our findings and geopolitical map of "blue planet's" neighbourhood is presented.
Economic analysis of moon phases on human behaviour
Klečková, Tereza ; Strielkowski, Wadim (advisor) ; Lelovská, Adriána (referee)
The moon and its lunar cycle is a theme that occurs in society since time immemorial. Does lunar cycle affect human life including its economic and social aspects? Do ordinary people and managers of large corporations act differently when the moon is full? Does consumer behavior change? Is at the time of the full moon rising crime and accidents? Can the effect of month on human behavior be scientifically tested? Although the above -mentioned topic may seem a bit bizarre I decided to process it in my thesis. Nowadays is popularization of science very important and widely used by for example the leading economic faculties of leading universities in the USA and the UK. This work attempts to answer the above questions and test the above mentioned context by using econometric methods. In this work we can read about the moon and myths and legends which are bind to it. The thesis presents several studies that have addressed the topic before, and their results. And then it will analyze available data from three basic areas of human behavior - crime, healthcare and business. The results which I reached are interesting and significantly confirm the influence of the lunar cycle in two of three selected aspects of human behavior - health and trade.
Natural environment of the Moon
Lulák, Martin ; Kalvoda, Jan (advisor) ; Křížek, Marek (referee)
This presented bachelor paper aims to describe the environment of the Moon based on accessible publications. It is especialy focused on the morphology of the most striking lunar landforms, as well as the origin of the Moon and its geological evolution, description of formation and characteristics of lunar regolith and effects of space weathering on lunar landforms. The second part of the paper is aimed at the morphological description of large impact craters - Tycho and Plato. Owing to the different age of these selected complex craters, it is possible by correlation of their patterns to demonstrate effects of main processes changing the Moon's surface. Key words: Moon, impactor, impact craters, space weathering, multi-ring impact basin, regolith, selenography, Tycho, Plato
The creation of the image of the race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation+Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972
Čermák, Ondřej ; Cihlářová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
Bachelor thesis "The Creation of the Image of the Race to the Moon in Wings of the Motherland and Aviation + Cosmonautics between 1961 and 1972" deals with the development of the Moonrace between United States of America and their rival Soviet Union as it is described on the pages of the above-mentioned periodicals. These periodicals mostly contain topics that can be characterized as popular scientific or even purely scientific. In their early years they were generally oriented upon aviation and parachuting. During the 1960s as the public interest for space was growing the periodicals adopted astronautics into its range of topics as well. This paper tries to reveal if the mediation of the Moonrace topic somehow twisted its general image for the sake of USA or Soviet Union. At the same level it aims to tell what were the reasons behind and how much space did the Moonrace and its development occupy on the pages of these periodicals. This paper methodically analyzes the contents of each periodical that is tied to the topic of Moonrace. Afterwards it carries out comparisons and generalizations based on the results of the previous analysis. Equally there is performed a quantitative content analysis of the articles on astronautic and space in general to get objective data. The analysis is based on the...
Ultra lightweight structural design concept of a lunar habitat
Mazáč, Petr ; Popela, Robert (referee) ; Jebáček, Ivo (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with ultra lightweight structural design concept of a lunar habitat. The beginning of the thesis is focused on basic properties of the Moon and different concept designs of lunar habitats and bases. Afterwards the main concept is introduced with defined loads followed by application of loads on the construction and design of main parts of the construction, especially design of an inflatable beam. Thesis is ended by manufacturing technology of an inflatable beam and design concept of main structural nodes.
Property of the Moon – Provision of International Public Law vs. Private Initiatives
Lupač, Petr ; Trávníčková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kochan, Jan (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to contribute to the understanding of the legal regulations of Outer Space and the Moon and to answer the question of whether the sale of land on the Moon is in accordance with international law. At first, the author will define the term of international space. Secondly, Outer Space which is predominantly exulted by the fundamental instrument of space law - the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies - will be characterised. This legal regulation is further expanded on by the Agreement Governing the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. Attention will also be given to private initiatives relating to purported claims to proprietary rights to plots of land on the Moon. The thesis will evaluate the arguments arising from international law as well as the arguments from the sphere of private initiatives. The last chapter will include an analysis of the legal regulation of mining of the Moon's natural resources and the proprietary claims thereto.

A suggestion how to optimize teaching process is based on the information obtained by studying literature, observation at schools and test survey.
Effect of food on the success of development of selected species of cockroaches.
ŠIŠKOVÁ, Žaneta
The aim of this thesis was to find out whether selected types of food substrates affect the adult´s productivity, the weight of newborn nymphs and laid oothecas and whether changes in adult´s productivity and the weight of nymphs occur due to one source of food during the experiment. In this experiment, the Blaptica dubia, Nauphoeta cinerea and Schelfordella tartara species were used. The reason for selection of those species was their high rate of reproduction, undemanding breeding and a short period of growth. The experiment was conducted in six types of feed substrates. The cockroaches were kept at a room temperature. The scales accurate to 0,2 g were used for the determination of the weight (AVINET). The Blaptica dubia species proved the dependence of its adults´ productivity and nymphs´ weight on the month of observation and the dependence of nymphs´ growth on a feed. The Nauphoeta cinerea species proved the dependence of nymphs´ growth on a feed. The Schelfordella tartara species proved the dependence of its adults´ productivity and oothecas´ weight on a feed and on the month of observation. The results of this thesis could emphasize the importance of the influence of a feed on the life of cockroaches breeded in captivity and help breeders to their better results with regard to the selection of a suitable food.
