Implementation Of Energy Management In The Industrial Sectors
Beermann, Carina
Global climate change, scarce energy resources and the increase in energy consumptionmake action urgently necessary. [1] For everyday life, suggestions and legal regulations have beencreated to deal with the scarcity of resources and sustainability. In industry, guidelines and lawsregulate the handling of resources such as electrical energy. Controlled energy policy and "voluntary"reduction of energy demand, especially in energy-intensive companies, play a decisive role and offerthe approach for a possible resolution of this tension through the application of an energy managementsystem. In order to achieve the goal of efficient energy management, a constant individualreview of the systems have to take place, for example with the help of the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycleat short intervals, in order to offer continuous.
The Benefits and Pitfalls of Smart Meter Data Collection
Bazal, Stanislav ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Šedrlová, Magdalena (advisor)
In recent years, the demand for electricity has been increasing in households because various appliances and newest technologies have been used on an everyday basis. This raises concerns about the lack of electricity production around the globe. There is also a need for people to track their daily power usage in houses. The aim of this thesis is to explain the term smart metering and its benefits for both people that might use this technology in their households, and for companies. Smart meters allow people to track and control their energy consumption and eventually it might result in cheaper costs of the resources. What is more, the smart meters help consumers to know specific information about the consumption of electricity for appliances. In a global scale, the smart metering technology is used in smart grids which are more environmentally friendly power grids with higher efficiency and greater energy production. This work also focuses on the overall distribution of smart meters both in the Czech Republic and in the world. Nowadays, there are many projects in progress that are trying to switch from traditional power plants to smart grids with the intention to increase energy production and to become eco-friendly. The companies behind these projects have already published some of their researches which bring positive information about the energy production. The majority of these projects should be in progress until 2020 and some until 2025. Therefore, the final conclusion whether the smart metering technology will replace the traditional power grids and will be implemented in households cannot be drawn yet. This thesis also contains a practical part in which I create a user interface in Grafana, which is an open-source software for time series analytics. The user interface is created for a Raspberry Pi touch display which has a sensor connected to it that allows us to measure energy consumption of electricity meters. The measured values are then presented in useful graphs and gauges in Grafana, and also on the display itself.

Energy Management strategy for sustainable regional development has been selected as the topic of my research due to the fact that energy demand alongside with energy dependency have been continuously growing from a long term perspective. Sustainable development is defined by three imperatives – energy efficiency, ecology and security. Review of the current state and analysis of historical trends in Energetics at global and regional level are covered in this research. Results of the Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis introduce a set of implications and recommendations for Energy Management strategy in the Czech Republic.
Development and Implementation of Energy Savings and Energy Management Methodology in an Industrial Enterprise

Application of Ultracapacitors in Traffic Systems
Kalina, Emil ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
The work deals with relatively new components allowing electric energy accumulation – ultracapacitors. It focuses on their application in traffic systems – in independent electric vehicles. Design and verification of a system with ultracapacitor and DC/DC adaptive converter was done. Control of the adaptive converter modifies very positively the time wafeform of the traction accumulator current during the drive cycle. The designed connection of ultracapacitor and DC/DC converter implemented in the drive structure of experimental electric vehicle with induction machine contributes to increment the action radius of the vehicle by 16% (determined by experimental verification). This result was achived particularly by limitation of traction accumulator current peaks, And by more effective storage of energy gained by recuperative braking of the vehicle as well. The core of the system is a control of the adaptive converter in order to provide an active filtration of the accumulator’s current to its long-period mean value, i.e. elimination of current (power) peaks. These are caused by acceleration from non-zero initial vehicle speed or by recuperative braking. This is done by a subsidiary current loop. The converter has a superior voltage regulation loop, which sets in long-time period the voltage of ultracapacitors to the proper value – indirectly dependent on the speed of the vehicle. This ensures the appropriate energy management of the ultracapacitor. In the following, properties of test set of ultracapacitors were verified. Finally, methods of suppression of capacity variability influence in series connection of these components were compiled and critically reviewed.
