Jelenová, Tereza ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with French acceptance of and reaction to Czech written novels by Milan Kundera which were published in France between 1979 and 1990. The thesis presents French reception of three books: The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, The Unbearable Lightness of being and Immortality. We are approching the pieces by applying the receptional and aestetical theory. The aim is to present that one work can be read in many ways, then we illustrate concretely how the opinions of the reviewers differ, how they comprehend the novels and how they describe them. The thesis is divided into ten parts. There is an introduction, the second part (theoretic base), the third part (short presentation of French press), three big parts named after three novels, whose French reception we are dealing with, a conclusion, a summary in Czech, a summary in English and a bibliography. Each of the three big chapters is also divided into smaller chapters, in which we subdivide the reception of literary context, the reception of genre, characters, themes and composition and also the evaluation of author and his novel. In the conclusion, we resume the development of the image of Milan Kundera and his novel in French reception, we describe the metaphors in the language of reviewers and we submit the analysis of the French press. Semi-adaptive PPM Compression
Kumičák, Pavol ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Lánský, Jan (advisor)
This thesis explores modi cation possibilities of adaptive PPM algorithm to its semiadaptive version and testify its aplicability for compression purposes. In adaptive PPM algorithm we create tree with speci ed depth based on symbols encoded so far. By using this tree we are able to predict probability of occurence of next symbol, which is consequently encoded using this probability. In semiadaptive PPM algorithm we create unbounded tree. From the tree, it is possible to decode the original input string; hands, the tree is the output of the algorithm. Afterwards, we can encode the tree into the le and compress this le using an appropriate compression algorithm. The goal of the thesis is to develop an algorithm for creating the unbounded tree used in semiadaptive PPM and to testify its aplicability by implementing and testing it.

The thesis is composed of nine chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of rules of conduct structured in chronological order. Chapter One is introductory and defines purpose and methodology of the thesis. In Chapter Two there is an entrance to the subject matter itself from historical and theological points of view. Chapter Three explains basic terminology necessary for understanding the thesis such as Financial Instrument, Investment Service (Activity), Investment Firm and Customer. Chapter Four introduces general rules of conduct on which following specific...

Monolog as an authentic confession in the context of the contemporary drama
Hýča, Martin ; ULLRICHOVÁ, Daria (advisor) ; VEDRAL, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with the notion of monologue and monologicity as a peculiar means of expression of the modern drama. The concept of monologue is defined within the frame of its relation towards dialogue, in the context of theoretical thinking about drama and theater, and in terms of the application of these concepts in everyday life.It is based on the theoretical works by Jan Mukařovský and Jiří Veltruský. The concept of monologue as a lack of dialogicity is being challenged with understanding monologue as a haven of authenticity, a space for authentic testimony. Through the general reflection, thoughts are put in connection with modern drama and illustrated on examples from particular drama works. The thesis leads into a reasoning about the dialogue between the stage and the auditorium as a way-out from the monological situation on the stage.
