Coufalová, Klára ; Heller, Jan (advisor) ; Harsa, Pavel (referee) ; Vomela, Jindřich (referee)
Title: Physical profile of judo athletes and its changes due to body weight reduction Aim of work: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of intensive pre-competitive body weight reduction on body composition, anthropometric parameters, postural stability, reaction time, maximal isometric muscle strength and biochemical parameters in the blood of elite judo athletes. Methods: The work compares the results of laboratory testing at the beginning and at the end of body weight reduction. Nine male judo athletes (age 22.3 ± 2.4 years) from the Czech national team participated in the research. For laboratory testing we used bioelectrical impedance analyser InBody 720, anthropometric equipment, pressure plate FootScan, dynamometer and apparatus for measuring reaction times of Biomedical laboratory UK FTVS and equipment for the collection of capillary and venous blood. We created a survey to gather more information about pre-competitive weight loss, attended by 53 competitors (37 men and 16 women, mean age 23.7 ± 3.2 years) who practise judo, wrestling Greco-Roman and freestyle, boxing, kickboxing, thaibox, taekwondo or karate. Results: We found a statistically significant (p<0.01) reduction of body weight, average weight loss was 4.6 % (on average 3.4 ± 1.6 kg). This reduction was reflected in...
Options of using physiotherapy at patients with amputation of their lower limb
ROŽNOVJÁKOVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor deals with the possibilities of the use of physiotherapy at patients with amputation of the leg. The loss of the lower limb has a major influence on change in postural stability. Despite the prosthetic equipment patient has impaired proprioception, which is reflected to the pathological walk with compensatory mechanism. We are trying to return a person to normal life with minimal disabilities using specific physiotherapy methods with adequate training and stability. In the theoretical part there is a summary description of amputation and its influence on postural stability, further I deal with protetics options, where I am closely describing the use of functional and posturograf tests. In the end I deal with physiotherapeutics prosthetic equipment and methods applied in practice. The aim of the practical part is to assess the changes in postural stability with the use of the instruments with a biological feedback and to map out the qualitative and quantitative parameters of walking of patients with lower limb amputations. For the practical part have been selected qualitative research, which includes case reports of two patients with transfemoral amputations and one transtibial of the lower limb. Both input and output examination includes a complete analysis of kinesiologic, functional tests with posturography examination of postural stability. Each patient attended 10 individual therapies to increase the stability. The results were compared between input and output of tests. All patient's postural stability has been positively affected with a slight improvement in posture. Despite the regular therapy we didn't suceed to change the pathological components. This state can be caused by the prothesis, which was by all patients described as unsatisfing. Bachelor thesis may be used by students of physiotherapy for extension of their knowledge, or they can apply the knowledge during their practice. It can also be used as educational material for patients who are interested in the issue.
The influence of eye movement on postural stability
Míková, Monika ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Němcová, Andrea (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis discusses the influence of eye movement on postural stability. Thesis includes problematics of postural stability, physiology of sight, oculomotoric and measuring of eye movement via electrooculography method. Postural stability is measured with Wii Balance Board, which records antero-posterior and medio-lateral displacement of the COP position. Eye movements are measured with Biopac system, its output is EOG. Ten people were involved in this study. Parameters were calculated from stabilometric signal and from EOG. Results were procesed statistically.
Influence of deep brain stimulation on postural stability in patients with Parkinson disease
Zelenková, Jana ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Zárubová, Kateřina (referee)
Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease of the basal ganglia. Its main symptoms are rigidity, tremor, bradykinesia, hypokinesia and postural instability. One possible way how to infuence diseases is neurosurgical treatment - deep brain stimulation. The principle is the implantation of electrodes in the basal ganglia and modulation of activity of the basal ganglia circuits due to electrical stimulation. Stimulation affects the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. This thesis deals with the influence of deep brain stimulation on postural stability in patients with Parkinson's disease.
Using biofeedback for patient with non-specific low back pain
Prokůpková, Eva ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Černý, Rudolf (referee)
The Diploma thesis titled "Using biofeedback for patients with non-specific low back pain" in theoretic part gives basic information about motor learning, biofeedback, low back pain and postural stability. In the research part, it deals with influence of postural stability- focused therapy (performed on Nintendo Wii Fit Plus device) on low back pain and postural stability. The work also deals with influence of added feedback on reduction low back pain, postural stability and realizing intrinsic feedback. We demonstrate that this therapy reduced low back pain but has no significant influence on postural stability. We also demonstrate that added feedback has positive effect on persistence of pain and affective part of the Short Form of McGill Pain Questionary, but it does not influence postural stability. On the contrary, absence of added feedback significantly influenced the postural stability. The added feedback does not influence awareness intrinsic feedback.

Results: The movement intervention led to the improvement of postural control and balance abilities at five subjects from the total of nine subjects, who underwent pre and post testing. From the total of forty-eight carried out tests, the subjects noted improvement in twenty-two tests,...
Evaluation of the immediate influence of physical activity on the quality of postural functions of basketball players
Mudruňková, Michaela ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the immediate influence of physical activity on the quality of postural functions of basketball players Author: Bc. Michaela Mudruňková Supervisor: PhDr. Tereza Nováková, PhD. Problem definition: Difficulties in the evaluation of the quality of postural functions and in the establishment of a so-called ideal posture stem from the diversity of views of different authors. Posture is definitely not the same as standing, but unfortunately many of the tests for postural functions evaluation focus only on that. Postural stability can be measured using device methods as well, but these devices are not available everywhere. Therefore, I have tried to create my own set of tests, which would best meet all requirements: simplicity, speed, availability and complexity of testing and evaluation of the quality of postural functions. Physical activity is followed by fatigue of the organism (decreased muscle strength, impaired movement coordination, ...). In my thesis I try to explain how fatigue manifests itself on the quality of postural functions and how to best assess the quality of postural functions using simple tests. The aim: The aims of this thesis are to develop an appropriate set of tests for evaluation of the quality of postural functions and to investigate the effects of different...
Relatioship of somatic and motor variables to the postural stability in children
Černá, Lenka ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Havel, Zdeněk (referee) ; Suchomel, Aleš (referee)
Subject In professional literature progressive development of postural stability related to the age during the childhood is documented which is characterized by decline of amplitude and speed deviations. The postural stability becomes similar to adults by primary school children, specifically in the age of 7 to 10 (Shumway-Cook, Woollacott, 2001) and children switch to more accurate strategy of postural control. The period of primary school is described as positive for motor development. Performance in this period is most considerably influenced by biogenetic factors which include growth factors as for instance body height, weight and body composition. An appropriate movement routine with an adequate amount and quality of movement activity is important for development of children's organism by primary school children. Objective The aim of this work is to describe the changes of chosen parameters of postural stability which are related to the age and gender of primary school children and to submit to analysis the changes in chosen parameters of postural stability in connection with somatic characteristics, movement abilities and movement activity. Methods The summarizing statistical research took place at a primary school where 154 children (85 boys, 69 girls) in the age of 7 to 11 were tested....
