Perspectives of the further development of the european integration in context of globalization

The consequences of globalization connected to the world market liberalisation and increasing global competition have uncovered and deepened many weaknesses of the European Union and its position in the world economy. The thesis is aimed to describe the contemporary economic condition of the EU and to provide a notion aboat its further development. This depends mostly on efficient ways how the EU will face new challenges. I try to distinguish EU's most serious challenges and introduce the strategies responding to them. I will also offer an appraisal of these strategies and outline its limits.

At first, the study on "Historical aspects of globalization and its selected consequences", is focused on various approaches to the definition of globalization, which differs in different branches of science. The second part deal with the evolution of the proces of globalization in connection with important historical events. In selected consequences are included food and population problems. These issues are viewed from two perspectives, in particular, from perspective of poor countries and from perspective of developed countries. This division is chosen because the characteristics of such problems in distant countries like this are absolutely different.

Demographic and social development of the South Bohemia Region

On the basis of a complex demographic analysis the thesis defines the areas in South Bohemia, where is apparent a specific development of demographic indicators and tries to find the main causes and consequences of these differences. From the perspective of the demographic indicators state the position of the South Bohemian Region is compared with other regions in the Czech Republic. On the basis of the demographic analysis is created a SWOT analysis of demographic trends of the South Bohemia population. In the final section there are explored impacts of demographic trends on the provision of social services for elderly and impacts on education and medical system in response to changes in the demographic structure of the population of the South Bohemia Region.

Analysis of the effects of pension reform in the Czech Republic

This dissertation studies the impact and consequences of possible retirement plan reforms on subjects in the Czech Republic. The first part focuses on classification of pension systems and fundamentals of the Czech pension system. Second part summarizes major aspects of the retirement plan reform. Changes in the pension system in the process of ageing of the population are highlighted in this section. Following is the fundamental part of the dissertation that will point out possible consequences of the retirement plan reform for the Czech Republic. The conclusion of the dissertation aims to discuss needs of all parties participating on the retirement plan reform and outline an optimal reform plan. This is the conflict point of the interest of the public and those of the government. However, it is a government's responsibily to act on behalf of the citizens and that is the paramount factor of the reform.

Stárnutie pracovnej sily a veková diskriminácia na trhu práce

Discrimination as well as ageing populations are very discussed topics nowadays. It can be viewed from population, demografic or economic point of view. The aim of this paper is to discover, if those two concepts have some common economic relations with regard to labour market. We will see that Czech Republic is not any different from other EU member states in dealing with age discrimination, ageing populations or changing in productive age limits. In this paper I will model the situations in which age discrimination could, but does not have to occur, and I will give legal reasons for it. I will also show how the ageing populations influence labour market and what consequences does it have. I will compare the statistic data with my own research and draw a situation in Czech Republic. I will focus on population of higher age and with anonymous questionnaire I will describe this problem from their point of view.

Možnosti soukromého krytí potřeb ve stáří a analýza jejich využívání

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá možnostmi soukromého krytí potřeb ve stáří a analýzou jejich využívání. Jde o popis doplňkových penzijních systémů, kterými jsou v České republice nejčastěji důchodové pojištění, kapitálové životní pojištění, investiční životní pojištění a v neposlední řadě penzijní připojištění se státním příspěvkem. Tyto možnosti samostatného zabezpečení na stáří jednotlivě popisuje a přibližuje jejich rozdíly, výhody a nevýhody. Cílem práce je pak především analyzovat, jak jsou tyto typy pojištění využívány lidmi a to na základě výsledků zjištěných z osobně vytvořeného dotazníku. Ten hledá odpovědi mimo jiné i na to, co má vliv na rozhodování lidí k uzavírání pojistných smluv, zda jsou spokojeni s činností pojišťovacího nebo finančního poradce, či zda uvažují o rozšíření svých produktů zabezpečujících je na stáří.

The impact of the demographic trend of population aging to the pensionable system in the Czech Republic and posibilities of reform

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vliv stárnutí populace na důchodový systém v ČR. První část práce obsahuje přehled důchodových systémů a možných rizik, které ohrožují jejich finanční stabilitu. Následuje úvod do demografického vývoje věkové struktury. Druhá část práce začíná představením současného důchodového systému ČR, pokračuje analýzou současné a budoucí demografické situace v ČR a poukazuje na změny penzijního systému v procesu stárnutí populace. Závěry práce ukazují, že stárnutí populace má vliv na celkovou ekonomickou rovnováhu. Dále naznačují nutnost reforem důchodového systému a současně poukazují na to, proč je pro vlády obtížné reformovat současný průběžný důchodový systém s definovaným důchodem.

The Czech pension system, its problems and possibilities of the reform

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to give a complex view of the Czech pension system to the reader. In recent years pensions and their associated problems have been the main theme of many discussions. We often hear politicians and experts speaking about the financial problems of the Czech pension system and its unavoidable reform. The preamble of this thesis deals with different situations in the Czech pension system, the rules under which it operates and its history. The body of this work is focused on the analysis of fundamental problems and their effects on the contemporary pension system in the Czech Republic. The emphases in the thesis are on demographic trends; the ageing process; receipts and expenditures of the Czech pension system; the political situation and public opinion in the Czech Republic. The conclusion of this thesis describes various reforms for the Czech pension system and mentions basic information about the Slovak pension system.

Social Consequences of Population Aging on the Side of Labour Supply and Labour Demand

This work deals with social consequences of population aging in relation to the employment market. Aging of Czech population is, according to Population Projection by 2050, collected by ČSÚ, inevitable. Growing rate of seniors in the population is accompanied by many negative economical and social consequences. Anticipated demographic progression will be especially charge on the social security system, health service, public finance, but also on the employment market. Considerable weight falls on the field of savings, on the productivity of labour, and on the population status. In the scope of the text, situation of labour demand on the emploers' side and labour supply from elder employers is discused as well. To increase the employment rate of elderly people, the measures stimulating labour supply and labour demand are mentioned. This work also contains the analysis of present status of elderly labour force on the labour market according to age, education and region, and the prediction of corporate behaviour change, due to growing rate of seniors as consumers.

The Czech Pension System. A Supplementary Pillar.

Cílem mojí bakalářské práce bude popsání stávajícího stavu důchodového systému v České republice, kdy se z velké části zaměřím na třetí doplňkový pilíř. Dále budu zkoumat a charakterizovat determinanty, které na účet důchodového systému působí. V úvodní části se zaměřím na teoretické charakteristiky důchodových systémů, na způsob jejich financování a následně na typy penzijních plánů. Dále se budu zajímat o třetí pilíř, tedy o dobrovolné soukromé penzijní připojištění, kterým si může jednotlivec zvýšit svůj životní standard v případě sociální události. Budu analyzovat jeho dosavadní vývoj a jeho výnosnost v závislosti na době spoření. Dále ho porovnám s podobnými produkty nabízenými na finančním trhu. V další části poukáži na skutečnosti, kterými je důchodový systém v České republice determinován. Mám na mysli jak změny v demografické struktuře, tak i vývoj jednotlivých ekonomických ukazatelů jako je míra nezaměstnanosti, mzdová či cenová dynamika.
