Simple Recommender System
Gorčák, Damián ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
Recommender systems are very important in searching for items all over the internet. There are many algorithms for creating recommendations. The main goal of this thesis was to find suitable datasets and make application, which would process them. After that, chosen algorithms for recommender systems are compared with selected datasets
Algorithm ICP and its usage for 3D registration
Fiala, Zdeněk ; Hoderová, Jana (referee) ; Procházková, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with the ICP algorithm used for point cloud registration. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part summarizes the basic concepts needed for the topic. The second part describes the basic ICP algorithm and its improvements. The last section contains the implementation of the algorithm in the C# programming language and the results of testing on real data.
Big data visualization
Lehončák, Michal ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Horáček, Jan (referee)
Nowadays, data are an integral part of our lives. Their volume is growing every day, and it often prevents us from understanding what these data means. The object of this thesis is to develop an application for large dataset analysis and visualization. Thesis also explores statistical methods used to reduce volume and dimensionality of data and implements selected algorithms from this field. Another goal is to explore the possibilities of modern graphics cards, as their performance increases every year. The visualization should use a graphics processor with data are shown as points in point- cloud in 3D space and user should be able to browse this data interactively.
Semantic Similarity of Texts
Hajdin, Martin ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This paper deals with the determination of the semantic similarity of texts focusing on categorization of web documents in this case bookmarks. The part of the process is a theoretical overview of methods for system implementation. It describes the design and implementation of the various methods used in the system, too. This paper also deals with the evaluation of various methods where the chosen method are tested according to specified criteria.
Statistical model of the face shape
Boková, Kateřina ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Krajíček, Václav (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to use machine learning methods for datasets of scanned faces and to create a program that allows to explore and edit faces represented as triangle meshes with a number of controls. Firstly we had to reduce dimension of triangle meshes by PCA and then we tried to predict shape of meshes according to physical properties like weight, height, age and BMI. The modeled faces can be used in animation or games.

Data mining
Mrázek, Michal ; Sehnalová, Pavla (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is analysis of the multidimensional data. Three dimensionality reduction algorithms are introduced. It is shown how to manipulate with text documents using basic methods of natural language processing. The goal of the practical part of the thesis is to process real-world data from the internet forum. Posted messages are transformed to the numerical representation, then to two-dimensional space and visualized. Later on, topics of the messages are discovered. In the last part, a few selected algorithms are compared.

Using blind image filtering for images from TEM microscopes
Implementation of matrix decomposition and pseudoinversion on FPGA
Röszler, Pavel ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Smékal, David (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to implement algorithms of matrix eigendecomposition and pseudoinverse computation on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform. Firstly, there are described matrix decomposition methods that are broadly used in mentioned algorithms. Next section is focused on the basic theory and methods of computation eigenvalues and eigenvectors as well as matrix pseudoinverse. Several examples of implementation using Matlab are attached. The Vivado High-Level Synthesis tools and libraries were used for final implementation. After the brief introduction into the FPGA fundamentals the thesis continues with a description of implemented blocks. The results of each variant were compared in terms of timing and FPGA utilization. The selected block has been validated on the development board and its arithmetic precision was analyzed.
