Skin surface water temperatures determination in selected lakes and reservoirs from satellite data
Formánek, Tomáš ; Kolář, Jan (advisor) ; Brodský, Lukáš (referee)
LAKE SURFACE TEMPERATURE DETERMINED BY SATELLITE IMAGES Abstract The aim of this master thesis is to create a method to determine surface temperature of water in lake Osoyoos (LSWT - Lake Surface Water Temperature). It is necessary to know this temperature in order to make easier decisions in a paradigm of global warming processes. Thanks to LSWT it is possible to make a timeline visualisation of temperature development in years. The first chapter deals with a physical definition of how to get thermal information - the basis of remote thermal sensing is measuring of radiance intensity and it's transformation to brightness temperature. This radiation is not only influenced by atmospheric properties but also by local climatic and meteorological conditions, but it is also influenced by the relief. The thesis seeks to create a method for calculating surface temperature of lake Osoyoos located at Canadian-American border. This calculation is based on data provided by ASTER using a split-window method. The method works with the differences in bands of sensing in order to remove atmospheric influences. This thesis contains several charts, graphs and pictures. The final result of this paper is a map of distribution of lake surface water temperatures. Keywords: Thermal remote sensing, land surface temperature, ASTER, TIR
Characterization of the perovskit photovoltaic cells
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Strachala, Dávid (referee) ; Novák, Vítězslav (advisor)
The thesis discusses the problematics of perovskite solar cells. The introduction deals with the history of the solar cells as the next part is dedicated to generations of them as well as to their principle and the variables measured in photovoltaic cells. The next part deals with perovskites, their properties and structure. Later the part about perovskite solar cells follows. The last part is dedicated to experiments which were executed on samples of perovskite solar cells.
Wireless weather station
Filka, Tomáš ; Novotný, Radovan (referee) ; Levek, Vladimír (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a draft of wireless weather station, whose task is to measure basic values inside and outside the home. Measured variables are for example temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, wind speed and direction or concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2). These data will be transmitted to a web server for later processing. Possible technical solutions are described and the outcome is a designed printed circuit boards, which has been assembled and tested. Resulting system was tested in trial operation.
Education Computer Program for Demonstration Methods of 3D Objects Illumination and Shading
Chvál, Vít ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Zuzaňák, Jiří (advisor)
This work describes an Education Computer Program for Demonstration Methods of 3D Objects Illumination and Shading creation. There are in detail described lighting models in this text. There are Phong and Lambert models as representatives of empiric models and BRDF as representative of physical model. Next part of the text describes types of shading methods. You can find there constant, Gouraud and Phong method. Following part of the text discuss issues of Educational applications. The rest of the text is devoted to design and implementation of the application.
Photoimpedace spectroscopy characterization of optical and electrical properties of the photovoltaic cells
Mocharová, Zuzana ; Chladil, Ladislav (referee) ; Novák, Vítězslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis mainly describes the theoretical knowledge of the topic photoimpedance spectroscopy characterization of optical and electrical properties of the photovoltaic cells, which contains development and princip of cells working, material properties of photovoltaic cells, explanation of electromagnetic waves, spectrophotometry and impedance spectroscopy, followed by a discription of the measuring device and used measuring methods. The experimental section for each measurement method describes the steps of setting the program, then the tables with measured values are involeved in some parts and a part of each method are summary graphs of measured values with subsequent evaluation.
Accumulation of Energy from Renewable Energy Sources
Heller, Ondřej ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The objective of the first part of master’s thesis is mapping the potential of various types of renewable sources in Europe and Czech Republic, especially solar energy, wind energy, water energy and biomass. There are described principals and ways of energy generation from these sources, brief overview of current technologies, and also their advantages and limitations. An important part is electric supply continuity from renewable sources, there are large differences and the resulting to restrictions on construction and connecting the units to the power system. In this work there are mentioned some impacts on network and rates of change of supply, some sources are also evaluated in terms of maximum power, that can be connected to the power system in our country. The conclusion of the first part is dedicated to energy storage technologies, which are suitable and usable for renewable sources, there are described their principals, properties, status of development and types of aplications, in which these technologies are used. This chapter also focusses on the price level of each technology. The second part of the thesis deals with 1 MWp on-grid photovoltaic power plant design. This design includes also the redox flow batteries accumulation, the first variant calculates on 24-hour steady energy supply, the second optimalized variant calculates on daily energy supply. There are the accumulation system costs estimated and also the payback period for the both variants. Additionally there is also determined minimum penalization for cost-effective operation. The last part is dedicated to changes of impact on the local grid and changes of system impacts, after the accumulation system is installed.
Effect of geographical location on solar systems performance
Kuljovský, Martin ; Weismanová, Júlia (referee) ; Jaroš, Michal (advisor)
The sharp price increase and the impending depletion of fossil fuels has led to an increasing interest in renewable resources. This thesis deals with one of the most lucrative substitution between renewable sources - the solar energy. The introduction describes the emergence and spread of energy in the universe, then is devoted to basic distribution of collectors and informs about the possibilities of their use. In particular, it contains formulas for calculating the basic performance characteristics and then comparing differences between panels. Finally, it compares the effectiveness of collectors for different geographical locations in the Czech Republic.
Statistical processing of data of solar radiation in place BUT FME Brno
Nečasová, Klára ; Jaroš, Michal (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the measurement of solar radiation. The aim of this work is to determine the usefulness of solar energy and solar radiation compared to the oblique and horizontal surface. You are given basic information about solar radiation, the Solar, collectors and sensors. Further work includes measurements and calculations of solar radiation in the course of one year and at the end of the evaluation of measurement results.
An assessment of returnability of solar collectors installation in low-energy family house
Hrbata, Jiří ; Pešek, Martin (referee) ; Jaroš, Michal (advisor)
Increasing of standard of living, automation and mechanization of production and industrial growth lead into energy need growth. At the same time the energy prices continuously rise and it is still more preferable to use renewable energy, particularly solar radiation. This thesis contains basic information about usefulness of solar radiation, solar collectors and ways of their integration into heating systems. Particularly, it deals with the assessment of returnability of solar collectors instalation in the low energy family house. It contains calculations of necessary heat for heating, hot water heating and energy gains from solar collectors. Returnability assessment is demonstrated on concrete example.
