A Design and Development of a Universal Power Supply for Laptops in Contemporary Motor Vehicles

This thesis deals with design of DC power supply with adjustable output voltage in range of 15 to 30 V, working in buck-boost topology. Thesis explains selection of buck-boost controller integrated circuit and calculation of values of external components. Designed converter is supplied with overvoltage, overcurrent, and reverse voltage protection circuit. Final circuit is equipped with microcontroller, display, and rotary encoder, which make it easily operable. Further, there are compared parameters of the device achieved in simulation and in practice.
Design of FPGA Development Kit

This bachelor thesis focuses on the design of a FPGA development kit for the development and implementation of logic circuits. The first chapter describes the various types of programmable logic devices and compares their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, the first chapter also describes the most common configurations of programmable logic devices and compares them to each other. The second chapter provides an in-depth description of the 7 series Xilinx FPGA architecture. The third chapter describes the design of the development kit and the programming device. Furthermore, the third chapter summarizes the available resources of the used FPGA as well as the devices and ports that are part of the development kit, and compares the development kit to other development kits available on the market. The final chapter outlines the process of producing and testing a development kit prototype.

Cílem této práce je navrhnout a sestavit napájecí zdroj pro notebooky různých výrobců pro použití v osobních a nákladních automobilech a na motocyklech s výstupním výkonem až 120W. Výsledný zdroj obsahuje USB-C konektor pro podporu napájení notebooků a chytrých zařízení s podporou Power Delivery, dále USB-A konektor s podporou Quick Charge 3.0 a také 12V automobilovou zásuvku pro možnost připojení dalšího automobilového příslušenství. Napájecí zdroj dále disponuje ochranou proti přepětí a přepólování vstupního napětí a také ochranou proti přetížení jednotlivých výstupů. Součástí zařízení je také LED displej, který uživateli umožňuje pomocí vstupního rozhraní jednoduše nastavit výstupní napětí pro notebook a sledovat aktuální hodnoty všech výstupů. Pro nastavování výstupu, indikaci a ochrany je použit mikrokontroler Arduino Nano.

This document describes a device capable to determine geographical position thanks to its GNSS module and measure the change of movement with the help of an accelerometer and gyroscope. Outputs of these integrated circuits are combined, data are processed and fused thanks to a numerical integration and mathematical filters. Results are stored on a memory card. The whole development is described from a concept, through the making of the device and software algorithms to the testing of its functions.
Low-power Security System of the Electricity-free Cellars

The work deals with the available options of security devices for basements, design and implementation of its own security system. An FPGA chip from Xilinx called XC3S50A was used as a device control. The device contains two motion sensors and a door passage sensor. There are two ways to report a breach. One way is the sound signaling by means of a siren and the other is the notification to the mobile phone by means of the GSM network.

Device for monitoring the environmental quality in the car

This bachelor's thesis deals with the design of equipment for monitoring the internal environment of the cabin of a passenger car. Equipment suitable for measuring force, atmospheric pressure, humidity, possible noise level and noise level. The main control element of the device is a microcontroller providing communication with the used sensors. The available data is shown on the display and is stored in memory. For communication with a computer, it is possible to use the USB interface using stored data that can be analyzed and processed.
The device for temperature sensors calibration

The goal of this thesis is to design a device that allows calibrating temperature sensors. The device is made of a thermal chamber with Peltier module. Part of this work discusses means of temperature measurement, control and regulation. This work describes design of circuit and PCB. The device can precisely control temperature and temperature profile. It can also automatically calibrate Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors. User can control the device either by interface on the device or from a computer. Temperature range inside the thermal chamber is from 7,5 °C to 115 °C with ±0,10 °C error.
Laboratory tool for teaching and demonstrating buses

The goal of this bachelor thesis is laboratory tool design and realization, which is suitable for teaching and demonstrations simple buses (UART, RS-485, I2C, SPI, 1-Wire, CAN, current loop and IR transmission). Despite the fact there are many possibilities of signal transmission, this thesis deals with metallic buses only. The only exception is infrared light data transmission, that was added as an example of optical wireless communication. First, basic terms are defined and used technologies are described, then circuit design is made, finally, laboratory tool is made and tested.
Design and fabrication of USB oscilloscope

The goal of the bachelor’s thesis is to develop and fabricate a simple two channel oscilloscope. A basic theory and construction of oscilloscopes is described first and their most important parameters discussed. Next, a couple of existing projects are analyzed, and the advantages and disadvantages of their construction are evaluated. Then a block and complete electronic scheme are presented and component choice is discussed. Finally, the product of this thesis is measured and the achieved parameters are evaluated.
